Both were absolutely amazing and mouthwatering. I primarily ordered the risotto as it was asparagus season when I was visiting and it did not disappoint. You also get a really healthy portion that I couldn't finish it despite loving it. Highly recommend, especially if it's asparagus season. I split the cream brûlée and really wish I just ordered my own. It was amazing and we devoured it in a matter of minutes. It's also a fair size. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a dessert to get this dish. One thing to note was this place is pricy and but a great place to get a really good meal, especially if you're staying in the Park Hyatt

It's one of those…read morehotel restaurants that can't boast any Michelin stars and is therefore often ignored by locals. And who could blame them, given the lacklustre quality of many hotel eateries all over the globe? I also went there mainly because my first (as well as second and third) choice of venue were either closed of fully booked that particular evening. As I'm a bit of a Hyatt fan and generally recommend visiting friends to stay there when in Hamburg I, at the very least, expected impeccable service, if not exactly a gourmet feast. Fortunately, the Park Hyatt delivered where I expected and exceeded my expectations on the culinary area. After the exceptionally friendly service had led us to our table I chose the wine menu, which, at about 60 Euros, is exceptionally good value, as it turned out. It consists of five courses, all of which were decent, some of which (an expertly cooked duck breast) were of very high, if not quite Michelin star quality. Mineral water is also included and was free flowing throughout the evening. All things considered I had a wonderful evening: competent cooking, a busy, yet comforting atmosphere and the impeccable Hyatt service too care of that. This definitely isn't your typical lazy hotel restaurant.

It is also definitely a place worthy of milestone celebrations so it was the perfect spot to celebrate my wife's birthday. There were a number of options for the amount of courses to partake in, five to be exact, and we opted for the 7 course degustation which really came out to 11 courses after the amazing amuse bouche and dessert extras. 1st beef tartare-cucumber-gin: tasty and very well balanced, also came with two pieces of steak to grill on a tiny personal grill. 2nd prawn-pork belly-couscous-saffron: excellently prepared prawn over fork-tender pork belly and savory fine couscous, it was one of my favorites. 3rd stuffed cabbage-truffle-truffle jus: this dish was completely covered in decadent truffle shavings. 4th pineapple vanilla sorbet-champagne: excellent palate cleanser before the main. 5th iberico pork-truffle-celery-almonds: our main course had so many different delicious elements to it, my wife called it "a journey on a plate"...apt. 6th aperol spritz to eat: amazing frozen aperol with a lot of sweet and delectable surprises in it like fruit and candied things. 7th frozen goat cheese-tarragon-white chocolate-olive oil: sensational dessert that was almost too pretty to eat and despite many of the savory elements, it was still quite sweet and was easily one of my most favorite desserts ever. 8th birthday cake! One thing I really enjoyed about our meal was the fact that we weren't really sure how everything was going to taste ahead of time. There were a lot of new flavor combinations and surprises for our palates which I really enjoyed. Overall, the food was excellent and beautifully and artfully plated. Service was fantastic. We both really enjoyed our entire dining experience and hopefully won't be waiting as long as we did to dine here again.

I don't eat out a ton…read morebut, when I do, it's with the expectation of having an experience that I couldn't easily replicate at home (for half the cost and no travel time). We went to TrüffelSchwein to celebrate Valentine's Day. Even though it fell on a Sunday (when they're normally closed), they opened up for the special day and had a custom menu going. The dishes were mostly pulled from their regular menus with some customizations here and there. Still, points for opening on Sunday and printing a themed menu. Ambience: perfect. The dining room is intimate but gives each table enough room to have its own conversation. They have an outdoor space, but it was (1) February in Hamburg and (2) pouring rain. I'm sure it's amazing in the summer, though. The decor is relaxed upscale, not that I'm-rich-look-at-me feel that you'll find in most other Michelin-rated restaurants in Hamburg. It's classy yet comfortable, a nice-jeans-and-blazer vibe. For the occasion, they had rose petals on the tables, a perfectly elegant touch. Service: nailed it. That alone earns them their Michelin star for me. Their timing and delivery are impeccable. They're there to top off your water or wine seconds before you realize you need a refill. The courses are perfectly spaced out and presented. They give you space to enjoy your dining experience but magically show up moments before you even notice you need something. When our waitress heard us speaking English (and clearly butchering any German we spoke with her), she smoothly switched over to English without any hesitation. When we continued in German ('cause we're stubborn fools), she switched back again without missing a beat. Top notch professionalism, folks. Food: everything was delicious, perfectly seasoned, and superbly plated. We went for the 4-course menu paired with gin martinis and a white wine, which was just the perfect amount. That menu includes a bread basket with truffle butter and tapenade and two amuse-bouches. When it comes to higher-end restaurants, TrüffelSchwein is absolutely worth the splurge, more so than the 185€ you'd have to shell out at Haerlin just for food in my book. I look forward to returning to TrüffelSchwein in the future.

There were so many mistakes in the service of the person who served us. She didn't smile, first of all. We got the impression we were not welcome. We got bread but the restaurant couldn't fix drinks that were not on the menu. While drinking our pre-drink we got the starter. We didnt have time to enjoy either pre-drink or the starters seperatly. At this time the main course came in. A Henssler mix - their specialty, with sashimi, sushi, tempura. We still hadn't finished our drink, nor our starters. Now we also lacked the beer we were supposed to have with the starter. Our waitress did not present the main course, which was strange because there was a mix of a lot of different components. The waitress was still quite unengaged. She forgot the drink for the main course. We had to ask for it twice before it arrived after 30 minutes. Then we had come halfway through our main course. When we had finished our entire dinner - from the moment we were seated at our table to we got the check - it had been 50 mins. We dissapointed and went back to our hotel for coffee and desert.

As with most of his recommendations, this one is spot on. This might just be one of the best hotel restaurants I've ever dined in. We came for a late lunch and were the only ones in the restaurant. At lunch they offer a 3 course "quick lunch" menu for 27 Euro. The waiter said smaller portions, but honestly, I found all the portions incredibly generous. We started with a celery soup that was creamy, flavorful, perfectly textured (blended completely, with the crunch of croutons on top) and so incredibly warming. It was a chilly and rainy afternoon, so we continued with the comfort food. Next course was a pumpkin risotto with oyster mushrooms. It was so incredibly hearty and all the flavors were wonderful. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly -- sliced to the perfect consistency, well seasoned, and slightly seared. Honestly, I'm still dreaming about them. Dessert was a chocolate parfait, which came frozen with a side of cream. The chocolate was rich, only slightly sweet. Service was attentive without being overbearing and our courses were paced perfectly. The restaurant has a really classy ambiance. I highly recommend a visit here if you're in Hamburg!
