She walked off and served several other tables and started filling their drink orders. My husband tracked down a different person to get my English muffin, by then my not basted eggs were cold. I get it, mistakes happen to the best of us. A simple acknowledgment or apology would have been welcome, but not a word. It made me feel like I was the one being difficult and I hate being that person. It isn't cheap eats, so I simply wanted what I paid for. The fried potato hash towns were tasty and well seasoned, the eggs (however they were cooked) were good enough. Overall the food is what you expect for a traditional breakfast. If you don't expect amazing service you will enjoy the meal well enough.

We…read morewere actually aiming for another cafe further up the hill (my friend's suggestion as they have some food sensitivities) but due to the day & timing, we ended up at my first suggestion. We all were soooo glad we did. Not only did it provide a great atmosphere for a visit, we all were well treated, had excellent crepe options (you can even order 1/2 savoury & 1/2 sweet - we highly recommend this option!) and lovely warm drinks. Bonus was that we could do our visit & the dog I was watching over could stay sheltered, tied to a very safe spot by the doggie water bowl & extremely happy she could see me (not just a glimpse). Actually, it was because of the fabulous questions (hello chocolate choices for hot coco!) and the very satisfying crepe choices, that I promised to absolutely remember to do a review for here. We were blown away (even though I don't need dairy free or gluten free options) with the choices & range of menu. Not to mention the wonderful instant welcome we got here. We ended up chatting mostly with the main lady but her staff was lovely too. It's been ages since I felt such a warm welcome like a local at any place (even in AB I feel like I'm treated as a tourist more than a local). We even had a weather telling chat on visibility of the trees on the mountain from our windows view (it was snowing in some places so weather observing was a big thing for all of us). So to me that really added to our experience. For drier weather, there's some smaller tables outside. Inside there's a few tables in the main area where you order & more in a larger second room. Bathrooms are generous size & well kept. Parking spots available right out front but the whole street has that option too. The only downside to this amazing experience was needing to do stairs into the cafe (but manageable amount for those that use a cane & need a good railing to hang onto). I will absolutely plan to visit here again - with friends or by myself. I'll hopefully have a phone not so temperamental the next time to take some photos too.

The almond croissant is sliced with the almond paste added in after the croissant was baked. This tehcnique is a smart shortcut but not a true almon croissant in the classic sense. It's not super sweet but can be heavy. They have a decent selection of drinks but there's quite a markup on the beer and cider. Recommended.
