A food truck with a washroom! Loved the outdoor seating as it made every seat pet friendly and it allowed us to enjoy the beautifully sunny day. The line up is long so be prepared to wait. We got the 2 PC fish and chips with a drink. We probably waited 45mins in line and for the food. It was very very fresh. The home cut fries were delicious. The fish really tasted fresh and the batter was thin and crispy. I love how well the batter was seasoned. There's a condiment bar with vinegars, seasoning salts, hot sauces etc. Unfortunately, out of the two pieces of fish we received, one was completely boneless and the other one was full of bones. I picked out about 6-8 bones from one piece of fish. Maybe I was the lucky one that received the one fillet that was not checked for pinbones. With that reason, I have to give them a 4/5. read more

Great spot. Fish are caught fresh daily. Large outdoor dinning area is perfect for the summer. There's not much service, expect more like a food truck with permanent seating area. We got the fish and chips and it was amazing, batter was light. However, 1:30pm on a weekday and the line was looooong. Took us good 30 mins or so in line to order. And then maybe another 15 mins or so before we got our food. So just be ready for that! read more

Thank you Shelly and Morgan. You made our day! We stopped at Jiggers to get some Fish and Chips. The kitchen was cleaned up and the restaurant was ready to close for the day. We had a really nice chat and talk about our rather disappointing experience at the Howler's and suddenly Morgan left to fire up the kitchen again. He fixed us a feast of fresh cod, french fries and all the fixings...because he did not want us to leave the area disappointed. It was delicious I promise that we will come here again once back in Ucluelet- it was that good and the service can't be beat! read more

CASH ONLY is probably the only bad thing you can say about this place. The fish was cod the day we went, fresh, and the batter wasn't overwhelming on either the salt or volume fronts. Coleslaw was an unadvertised side menu included with the fish and chips! We had foreign visitors with us, and it was awesome that they got to check poutine off the list as well at this store. I'm not an expert on it, but it was good, with more flavor than fatty impression. The portions are generous!!! Two of us got 3 pieces of fish and shared the chips (poutined) and it was more than enough! Yelp has it under "street vendors," but their usual location is in a driveway in front of their building which has washrooms and many indoor tables. I would consider it more of a fast-food joint with no waiter service. Takeout and outdoor tables also available. read more

Was told this is the place in Ukee for fish and chips, so naturally we had to try them. Service was really good. They gave us a heads up that it was cash only so we ordered then headed across the street to an ATM We had he 3 piece fish and chips for $25. The fish is local, fresh, and not overly battered. The portion of fries we had was massive, we couldn't finish them. We sat outside as it was a nice day, there is also an option for seating indoors. read more

Well to our surprise they were open on a Monday, probably to see if they can draw in any customers and we were one of the first who showed up. Right off the bat very friendly service, and the food... the fish was light and not at all greasy, and very flavorful. For a food truck these guys can teach some local restaurants on how to properly cook a fish. Fries were very tasty as well. Portions are big. Ordered small fries for my son and I would have thought they were a large. Fish portions are big so if you order more than 1 piece be hungry. Overall highly recommend this place. read more

Some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. O felt like I was in Maine...but this cannot compare. After a long hike, my friend and I were making our way home when we passed this food truck stop. Instead of making food, decided to try the halibut. We ordered one piece each which were huge and just the right amount. The way it was prepared was JUST right: perfect amount of batter, not too greasy, flavorful, and the halibut was super fresh. The coleslaw pairing and fries (they offer poutine) were amazing. The halibut is super fresh and the batter on the fish is to die for...its super light and flavorful. The prices are phenomenal, 17$ for 1 piece, 23$ for 2 piece, and 29$ for 3 piece (this includes fries, coleslaw and all the fixings). The portions are large & excellent for hungry surfers & travelers. Poutine is also to die for!!! Been here twice within the 4 days we've been in ucluelet. Despite the steep price (three pieces of fish along with chips and coleslaw will run you $25), the portion sizes are HUGE, not overly battered or seasoned and cooked to perfection. Also, their service is amazing! Very kind, cheerful and happy. We had the three pieces of fish and chips, tiger prawns and their signature hotdog. The fish which was cod, was just caught off the wharf the same day, and was extremely fresh. The tiger prawns were just the right size, and were wonderfully tender. This was my favorite place to eat in Ukee. We ate here 3 times in the week we were here. The poutine was possibly the best I have ever had and the fish was amazing. The batter on the fish was delicious and light. The fish itself was fresh and tasty. The poutine substituted shredded mozzarella for the usual cheese curds and at first glance I was disappointed BUT any doubts I had disappeared upon my first taste. The beef gravy was excellent. The fries did not fall apart in the gravy. Everything was seasoned well. Know that Jiggers is a food truck in a parking lot. There are picnic benches to sit at outside as well as some tables inside a building next to the food truck. It closes at 9 pm (at least it did when we were there). They may also not open if they don't get any halibut as they did Wednesday when we were there. It is cash only which kinda sucks but there is an ATM at the marketplace/Co-op down the street. The portion size is incredible, and the fish pieces are quite hefty and substantial! They have several condiment options as well, ketchup, malt vinegar, and white vinegar. We tried the poutine - shredded cheese - ok. Fish burger - tasty. Fish and chips - the cod fish is battered lightly and the pieces were huge ... Think size of an adult male hand ... Maybe slightly longer. It was thick too. I prefer the batter to be a bit more cooked as it was a bit too moist. I could only eat 1.5 pieces (usually average 2). Fries were nice and crispy ... Loved them. Coleslaw was good too. Would definitely go again, but would order less so that I had room for dinner. read more

Saw this truck passing through with a considerable line, sometimes that is a good sign. All I can say that the fish and chips were tasty. Saw a review about the expense but ukee is in the middle of nowhere and compared to other places in town I thought the price was in line with the food I received. Yummy. Giant pieces of ling cod (may change depending on what's available) perfectly fried with English style batter, and perfect chips to boot. And the malt vinegar in spray bottles is just genius! Some complain about the expense but the pieces are quite large, and unless you are a male teen, you probably can only finish half the portion comfortably. The 2-piece fish and chips provides the most value, so I'd generally recommend starting with one 2-piece for 2 people, though if you think you might need a wee bit more, be sure to add the 3rd piece because a 1-piece order will be steep. The truck can be a bit tricky to catch at times, and we were lucky to catch it on our last day in Ukee. What a culinary highlight! read more
