It's cash only and don't expect nice seating or anything, but it was clean and there is a bathroom. I would come back to try more traditional Czech food. The hours are super limited (10am-3pm I believe). It's easy to access and in a great location in Prague 1.

They have a relatively small menu but it is translated into English. It's traditional Czech cuisine. They also have a few prepackaged salads and beer. When I was there they were out of Pilsner Urquell and only had Kozel. Surprisingly (for how old school the place is) they do take card. I had chicken with mashed potatoes and really enjoyed it. The chicken was incredibly moist and well-cooked, and the mashed potatoes were tasty. The beer was poured well and was a refreshing accompaniment to the meal. I also had a cucumber salad on the side which was basically just cucumber slices in a very mild "brine" if you can even call it that. Pretty unexciting side dish but for 40 ck I can't complain. Prices for everything are unbeatable, haven't had another meal this cheap in Prague. Toilet was a little gross, the seating area is bare bones, and as expected there's no WiFi or anything. But again for the prices you can't ask for much. Would definitely return here.

He asked me where I was from and why I was in Prague. I ordered off the lunch menu, and got the tuna salad. There weren't many veggie options, and I don't even like tuna salad-style tuna. I ate around it, and enjoyed the green beans, cherry tomatoes, and greens. The dressing was good, but was a little swamped for my liking. They gave complimentary unlimited bread, which was delicious with salt, pepper, and olive oil. Later, I had vanilla honey tea after choosing from an assorted box. Tea was decent, nothing wrong with it. I didn't want something heavy, so I had a hard time choosing a light lunch fare. I would come back for dinner, as it smelled very good when they were cooking. The waiter was incredibly kind by providing a me a table outside, and directing me inside to order. He recommended the breakfast Karlin, which I decided to opt for. I also ordered a slaný šnek with bacon pastry and a cold brew coffee. My first time having the pastry and I was delighted with the tasted. A pleasant sight and an even better taste. Tasting the cold brew was quite the experience as well. Wonderful tasting coffee and the euphoric caffeine kick which accompanied it. At this time, I was also able to dig into some of their lemonade which was fermented. Tasting like a kombucha, it was delicious and settled my stomach incredibly. The Karlin breakfast came out soon after, about 10 minutes later. Sizable to say the least, it was two eggs on bread with their marinated trout. Eggs tasted wonderfully, fish tasted fresh, and smothered in the hollandaise created a delicious breakfast. Following that, I dug into the curd cheese with berries. So sweet and perfect in portion to end a meal, I savored every bite. A wonderful covered outdoor seating area, fresh local ingredients, and diverse dishes of every kind made for a great experience here. The kindness the staff showed, and calm atmosphere facilitates the perfect environment for the food to dance in. I'm so glad I tried out this place and it offered some of the best breakfast I have had in Prague.
