No matter whether you want the breadsticks or not you are charged. We didn't get a receipt from the waitress when we paid so my wife chased her down to see why we were charged 170 Zwołte for this small amount of drinks. Once you receive your receipt and all is written in Polish, you don't notice it in most cases. My wife is Polish and immediately went to speak to the manager. He threatened to call the police. Interesting to note that in the hour and a half we sat there, the police pulled up three times to use the bathroom and get food. Obviously they are working closely with them too protect their scam. DO NOT GO HERE. We have been going to this place once or twice a week in the summer for eight years and this was never an issue before. SCAMMERS, THIEVES, and CHEATS!!!

The menu is a BOOK. Pages of cold and hot appetizers, many of which are also listed as entrees so you have an opportunity here to order a bunch of appetizers to sample an array of Polish favorites. The entrees are very fancy, enhanced by flourishes such as sauces, garnishee and variations. I don't speak or read Polish but even with English speakers, the translations are sometimes a bit blurry. German text joins English in most restaurants and I have some German language so the German helped me greatly with menu items descriptions-translated into English. Wife ordered potato pancakes (don't laugh) accompanied by veal cutlet/schnitzel, with mushroom gravy/sauce. The plate looked like a big oval shaped pancake sandwich. It was huge. The potato cakes were about a fat quarter inch thick and the veal cutlet a little fatter. Undaunted, she dove in and even allowed me sone tastes. Really good. Crisp potato and very tender veal. The mushroom sauce was superlative with chunks of fresh mushies. I went for the golumpky, rolls of stuffed cabbage filled with a rice-beef blend. My family regularly serves stuffed cabbage that is cooked in tomato sauce. Here, you had a choice so I opted to (you guessed it!) mushroom gravy. Being more rice than beef mix I found them pretty blah. Thank goodness for the mushroom gravy as it was so good that cardboard would become a gourmet treat. I did eat it all, though. I think this is the first restaurant I have visited that was mentioned by the Michelin Guide. When we entered, it was pretty early for dinner so the place was pretty empty and there was plenty of space for walk-ins which was great. The front room of the restaurant was also reserved for some sort of corporate event too, and there were still some empty tables. This was a weeknight early dinner, so you may need a reservation at more popular time, but if you didn't have time to make one, just come at a slightly off time and you will definitely be able to get a table. The interior of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, everything feels so pristine and elegant, I really felt like I stepped foot into a day as the upper class. There was even a part of the front room with a bit of an open kitchen type of concept so as I walked through I was able to catch a glimpse of a few dishes being expertly plated. We were sat in a smaller back room by a side door. This was my only complaint of the whole night as it was really cold outside that day and every time someone used this door (which wasn't the main door), it would send a freezing breeze over me and the whole table. So when you are being seated (and its bad weather), make sure to try to finesse your way into a seat not near that door. The waiter came over and described the menu and its crafting with exquisite detail. Everything sounded so good that it was hard to decide, We decided to order a few dishes to share: rostbeef, bresaola, and sterling halibut. These three were all soooooo delicious. My favorite was the rostbeef as the meat was just incredibly tender and the sauce (which was a little sweet) just complimented everything so perfectly. The bresaola was great too, and my first time trying that dish. It had a nice salty and meaty flavor. The sterling halibut was also great because it had a sharp, sweet citrus flavor which balanced out the hardiness of the other two dishes we started with. For the main I ordered myself the lamb haunch along with a side of caponata. The lamb haunch was the star of the whole night and I am so glad I chose to order it. It was the most tender lamb I had ever had, cooked to a perfect medium rare, it was soft enough that I didn't need a knife to cut through it. The grilled pepper was a nice touch that I really enjoyed as well. The caponata was a little strange, but wasn't bad, however is not something I would reorder. The only miss of the night for me was the dessert - Chocolate Namelaka. I really disliked this dish, I thought the citrus was too acidic and sour to work well with the chocolate. It was a dish whose flavors conflicted too much for me. Overall, despite a few dishes missing for me, the rest more than made up for it. This was definitely a true fine dining experience.
