    Krakowskie (8 piece)

Dining here is an experience. Glad my hubby made sure I get to go before we leave Krakow. The restaurant itself has limited seating capacity (this location at least, I think there are others in the city that also seemed bigger). The way it's decorated is quite charming. The two young ladies are dressed in traditional Polish clothes. You order at the counter once you know what you want. You also pay as you order. I opted for an 8 piece and was told I can mix two flavors so I went with Chlopskie (potato, bacon bits & onions) and Z Miesem I Kapusta (pork, cabbage & onions). My husband went with the 8 piece Krakowskie (onions, mushrooms & potatoes). I got mine with garlic sauce. We both got a lemonade - peach for him, lemon for me. The food came out hot and fresh. They top the pierogis with crispy onion bits and some sort of oil - heavenly. We absolutely savored each bite and thought they were excellent. Our bill was the equivalent of about $36 which was kinda high but they were worth it. Kudos to the two young ladies and the kitchen staff for doing a fantastic job in running this restaurant. I highly recommend this place.

Great place to get traditional Polish food while in Krakow. The dumplings are delicious and come in three different sizes (L, XL, and XXL) which give you 8,10, or 12. Get the 12, you won't regret it. My partner had the cabbage rolls and she said they were quite tasty as well. We also enjoyed some fresh made lemonade. It seemed to be sweetened with honey, not sugar. It was good, just not what I was used to, or expecting. One thing of note is that this establishment is "self serve". This simply means that you order and pay, but they still deliver the food to your table and clear your plates when finished. It's a nice change if you aren't in the situation to have the typical long European dining experience.

Every time I'm in Krakow I got here! Amazing pierogis that taste like my mom's. It's also the cutest little restaurant with cute Polish decor. Really nice ladies working there too. I love this place!

Authentic Polish comfort food. I ordered the 10 piece mixed pierogi plate for only 27.90 PLN (about US$7.41) and they were flavorful and filling.

Great place for Pierogi! Wide variety of flavors whether you like them savory or sweet. Super cool Polish Vibe as well with the waitresses wearing Polish regional uniforms from Krakow. Great choice for lunch or dinner! Enjoy!

Self service pierogi spot. Order at counter, pick up your own food, and cleanup your own table. It is nice and quiet inside not too much chattering going on. Clean and spacious. Many tables. Food came out quick and good! The pierogis were delicious and good pricing for them. So fresh and the fillings were generous.

Definitely a touristy spot, I snuck in and there was another 6-top table of Americans next to me. Pierogis are excellent though, as was the stuffed cabbage I got. Not a fancy place, though no bar mleczny either.

When in Poland...Perogies!! And this place did not disappoint!! We got Sausage, Potato & Bacon and the Cherry Perogies. The cherry ones were OK and the other two were delicious!! We shared an order of 8 each and it was more than enough food. Very flavorful and the staff was friendly and helpful! For traditional Perogies I highly recommend! We sat outside and the street was lively and fun!!

The decorations alone are worth seeing. The pierogi was great and made fresh. I wasn't a fan of the duck one, but the cheese and potato one was excellent. There are many more choices and I would recommend it.

Great place to have your Pierogi fix while in krakow. They have couple of spots throughout the old city. The one I went to had a nice backyard, perfect for a sunny day. The staff was very attentive, spoke good English and the food came out fast!

Came here with a local to experience some Polish cuisine. What a great place! Rustic decor with staff dressed in classic garb. Loved the chlopskie, so much flavor and great texture. Also recommend the smalec - great pickles as well. Wonderful dining experience.

This was recommended to us as a top spot for us to stop at when we finally got to Kraków, so in our first night in town, we walked over with anticipation. I ordered the chłopskie and my husband ordered the krakówskie. Both were tasty dishes, but we did have to wait about 15-20 mins after placing our order for our food to be brought out, and it took about 5 mins waiting in line to order. The place was crazy busy! The prices are ok, and the waitresses were nice. We also ordered the dessert raspberry pierogi, which my husband loved but I thought were a bit too sweet, but the texture was really nice. Overall, we're glad we stopped here.

Pierogarnia is nicely decorated, but food is so-so. I try their bigos, traditional Polish food I read about. And it's turn out to be a fried sour cabbage with 2 small pieces of sausage. Pierogi (dumplings) was tasteless, and dough was sticky. Borsch (red soup) was served in the teacup to my surprise. It's interested to visit the place and take the pictures of the decorations, but don't plan to eat some tasty authentic Polish comfort food.

There were two rooms and I sat in the long one (the ceiling arc reminded me of a tunnel for some reason) with the duck mural. The menu contained lots of Polish dishes and a dedicated duck section. A duck and pickles appetizer was served gratis. It spread easily on the accompanying slices of bread and was nice. I've not had duck presented like this before and when I piled a couple of the smaller pickle pieces on top the tartness added more complexity for the flavors. I'd order this if it was on their menu. Zurek soup tasted a little tangy and was filled with sausage, mushroom, potatoes plus a whole egg and was delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect but all the different ingredients made for an enjoyable bowl. The bread bowl also contributed by thickening the soup as it abosrbed the broth. The duck breast with smoked plum sauce was thick, cooked medium and very tender. There was a little too much sauce for me but I liked the different taste. The side of glazed carrots and peas had a hint of sweetness and completed the dish along with the potato gnocchi. Service overall was good and efficient. Would return.

When we visited around noon, there were only two parties ahead of us, so the wait wasn't bad at all. We ordered the daily special, a chicken cordon bleu served with potatoes and a side of vegetables that tasted a bit like coleslaw. We also tried two kinds of fried pierogi: spinach and feta, and pickled cabbage with white mushrooms. It was my first time trying pierogi, and I really enjoyed them. They reminded me of dumplings, but were served with sour cream on the side, which added a nice touch. Ordering was very straightforward. I was curious about the delicate cabbage leaves that look like the wings of its namesake (little doves or pigeons). It was everything I thought it would be, and more. I'm so glad that we tried them. It's popular for a reason. I really appreciated the fresh mushrooms, and the filling of buckwheat. It made the rolls so light. It felt like comfort food at its best. Very delicious! They can make them gluten-free as well. In fact, the menu has a lot of options for those with dietary restrictions. They'll ask you right away if you have any allergies to certain foods. The service was great. Everything was explained very well. We couldn't pass up dessert. They all looked so good. My husband decided to get the Basque Cheesecake. It's not on the menu, but they'll let you know if it's available by request. I was tossed between the Egg Nog Cake and the Chocolate Cherry Cake. Both have some form of liquor in it. The Egg Nog Cake or Ajerkoniakowy Tort was my absolute favorite of the 2 desserts. I really liked the eggnog filling. I'd think it would be rum (like the Polish Kogel Mogel punch), but we were told that the vodka works better in their recipe. They were right. It's definitely heavenly. What I love is that there were more locals eating there. I didn't see any tourists. It's kind of off the beaten path. We decided to head on over to Kazimierz since it's not very far from this resraurant. It all worked out perfectly. I'd love to return one day to try other menu items. Everything looked great.
