I…read morehad actually walked in to initially ask a question about a Fall Festival that was advertised in the local "magazine." (I'm from NY and had never been to this part of PA). I was told, rather rudely, that the festival is held the first TWO weeks of October, and I was clearly mistaken that it was happening this weekend since it was already the third week in October. I explained that I had read about it and was told, "no, you are wrong". She then went on to say the way to remember it is that it is the FIRST TWO WEEKS of October every year! Ummm, I'm here for the weekend and probably won't ever be back, so I really don't CARE if it is held every year. I only cared about this year! I can assume that this was the owner because, looking at pictures online, I saw her nametag and recognized who was speaking to me in such a derogatory way. Another man appeared; not sure if he was an employee, but he was kind. He said it was a mistake that could easily happen. I said ok, is there anything else happening around here this weekend? The owner suddenly went mute and didn't say a word, and this man didn't reply either. It was like I was invisible, and I was totally ignored. Hmmmm, that's not a great way to do any business! At that point, I left, feeling like an idiot. About a half hour later, I RETURNED to the store after finding the exact same local Bedford magazine in the town. I talked to another employee who looked at the magazine and said oh my, THEY MADE A MISTAKE and put the date for the festival as THIS weekend in here, but the festival is over. It's a typo, and I'm SO SORRY!! I told her she didn't have to apologize to me, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy! She was very sweet and then said there is a Pumpkin Festival happening in Old Bedford, a few miles away. She also said you are free to shop around our store as well! I thanked her but thought there was no way on EARTH I would give the owner my business. Yes, you have a lovely store but calm down--you are located in a small little PA town. Your snooty attitude wouldn't last 10 minutes in a big city!! **PS the Pumpkin Festival was awesome, and we had a great time! This witch of an owner did NOT spoil my day!!

Employees, and owner, look down at you and speak that way to you while in the store as if you they…read moredo not care if you are there, or not. If you do not purchase anything you are even talked about as you leave the store with genuine disregard for your respect and dignity! They might have 'high-end' clothes for that area of the world, but let them get out of that small town and come into the real world where the owner will quickly realize how insignificant they really are in the world of they ever left Bedford County!

I did definitely pick up a small Alpaca plush. I kept thinking 'Llama!' but apparently llamas and alpacas are two different animals, Alpaca's being a lot cuter. The only reason I brought this up is because at work we have a running joke about Llamas and thought it'd be funny as hell to tie some bling and green stones around the doll's neck..but the Alpaca is a wonderful substitute and thus inspired me to buy one :p

I had no idea just how massive this place was from the outside. It is like one big scavenger hunt…read moreinside that seems to wind endlessly through vendors and just when I thought it was done, I discovered there was a whole lower level. The staff was so kind. I purchased one of those old time plastic popcorn holiday decorations that were massively popular in the 70s. My mom had many of these for the holidays and I've managed to uncover a few of them for my house. It always makes me think of her. On this visit, I saw a very unique one that was a hippie love sign. It was a little out of my price range, but my kids insisted I go back and get it. I reluctantly agreed, and the shopkeeper was so nice to let me get it despite actually being closed. She told me these signs used to cost $2 a piece. I definitely paid a lot more than that! But am so happy whenever I see it in our window.

I was visiting the town of Bedford for the first time and stumbled upon this store. I wasn't…read morereally in the mood to shop for myself but something caught my eye and I tried it on and loved it! And then I tried on many more things. They have a wide variety of a lot of differenct and classic items. Many styles and different materials. I ended up buying a few things because the prices were extremely reasonable. The girl working was very nice and pleasant. If I ever visit Bedford again It will be one of my stops for sure.
