Visited Bedford PA this past week. A beautiful little store with tons of high-end merchandise. I had actually walked in to initially ask a question about a Fall Festival that was advertised in the local "magazine." (I'm from NY and had never been to this part of PA). I was told, rather rudely, that the festival is held the first TWO weeks of October, and I was clearly mistaken that it was happening this weekend since it was already the third week in October. I explained that I had read about it and was told, "no, you are wrong". She then went on to say the way to remember it is that it is the FIRST TWO WEEKS of October every year! Ummm, I'm here for the weekend and probably won't ever be back, so I really don't CARE if it is held every year. I only cared about this year! I can assume that this was the owner because, looking at pictures online, I saw her nametag and recognized who was speaking to me in such a derogatory way. Another man appeared; not sure if he was an employee, but he was kind. He said it was a mistake that could easily happen. I said ok, is there anything else happening around here this weekend? The owner suddenly went mute and didn't say a word, and this man didn't reply either. It was like I was invisible, and I was totally ignored. Hmmmm, that's not a great way to do any business! At that point, I left, feeling like an idiot. About a half hour later, I RETURNED to the store after finding the exact same local Bedford magazine in the town. I talked to another employee who looked at the magazine and said oh my, THEY MADE A MISTAKE and put the date for the festival as THIS weekend in here, but the festival is over. It's a typo, and I'm SO SORRY!! I told her she didn't have to apologize to me, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy! She was very sweet and then said there is a Pumpkin Festival happening in Old Bedford, a few miles away. She also said you are free to shop around our store as well! I thanked her but thought there was no way on EARTH I would give the owner my business. Yes, you have a lovely store but calm down--you are located in a small little PA town. Your snooty attitude wouldn't last 10 minutes in a big city!! **PS the Pumpkin Festival was awesome, and we had a great time! This witch of an owner did NOT spoil my day!! read more

Employees, and owner, look down at you and speak that way to you while in the store as if you they do not care if you are there, or not. If you do not purchase anything you are even talked about as you leave the store with genuine disregard for your respect and dignity! They might have 'high-end' clothes for that area of the world, but let them get out of that small town and come into the real world where the owner will quickly realize how insignificant they really are in the world of they ever left Bedford County! read more

Elaine has some very cool stuff....hats, gloves, clogs ( I only know what the first two in that list actually are). The honey liked the store and bought a few things in it. I started to fell all dizzy again but shopping does that to me. read more

Be prepared to be judged and analyzed from head to toe by the employees when entering this store. This place is expensive and higher end so maybe they're trying to determine if you can afford to shop there or not. The items are very nice and I have bought Alex and Ani bracelets here before, but this last time I walked out without a purchase after experiencing yet another Pretty Woman moment. Extremely dismayed that this shop was not enforcing wearing masks during the pandemic. I would say approximately 40-50% of patrons did not have a mask on. It is a cute shop but did not feel safe at all so had to leave. Please support the public, so the public can continue to support small businesses. read more

I walked into this store hoping to purchase a gift for my friends daughter. I was looking at Vera Bradley merchandise and one of the sales attendants walked up to me and suggested I look at the marked down Vera items in the back, needless to say, I didn't purchase anything. Thankfully, I walked out keeping my composure. Apparently wearing tennis shoes and a workout t- shirt make for a poor appearance and some of their employees assume you can't afford a $48 wallet. Talk about a Pretty Woman moment... I don't discredit all staff members as I have been in this store before and received friendlier notions. The only reason I am giving a 1 star rating is because yelp requires it to proceed to post! read more

Shopped today at JWA. Really love the store, but this is what happened today. I spent $148 today, and $49 online a few days ago. I purchased 7 or 8 items, some items were lotion, bath products, quite heavy. All my items were shoved in a small plastic bag. Of course when I left the store, the tiny bag ripped, my $100 necklace fell out on the sidewalk. I went back into the store to get a better bag, I was given the same type bag. The clerk stated that because I purchased items that were on sale, I could not have a sturdier bag!!! I told her that was unbelievable. I live in York, travel a few times a year with my friends (who spent $500 there today) to Juli's Wearable Art and have spent hundreds of dollars there in the past and I cannot have a bag that will hold my items. I have never felt so unappreciated in my life. I will never shop at JWA again, nor my friends, that spend even more than myself. I hope the owner realizes that she lost customers, all over a .25 cent bag. The clerk was so condescending and the, and acted like she enjoyed saying that I couldn't have a bag because my $148 were sale items. Horrible customer service. If you don't want to be treated like crap, don't go to JWA's. Wrong way to treat their customers. read more

I visit Bedford several times a month and end up going into Juli's Wearable Art Store. I agree with one of the ladies who stated the service isn't the best. I rarely get greeted by the staff nor do they attempt to help regardless of how much I spend or how I am dressed. I am an African American and feel totally dismissed when I walk into that store...... It has been disappointing experiences. But because its one of the trendy stores in Bedford, I have no choice but to shop there for gifts when in town. Yesterday finally, I walked in to buy a pair of copper earrings and blouse which both cost over $170 and was greeted and assisted on by Jamie G. She was simply marvelous. She made a point of checking in with me to ensure I was finding everything I needed. She was gracious and sincerely interested in making my experience a good one. I am a banker and manage over 300 employees daily. Good Service is important to me and my clients. as such, I coach my team to provide the ultimate best service. With the exception of Jamie G. every associate in that store needs to be re-trained in customer service. Claudia- read more

Had a great time shopping here... Maybe too much fun! I've never seen the Brighton brand of jewelry, but I'm now hooked! The staff was super friendly and helpful and put up with my fussing over picking a Vera Bradley purse (my first!). Great selection and staff! read more
