Our room here was comfortable, and the breakfast offerings were ample -- not really enough room for all parties to have their own tables, but people were happy to share tables.
If I could give the hotel 3-1.2 stars that is what I would assign,I downgrade the hotel for two reasons: wi-fi access was advertised, but there was a substantial charge, and access was unreliable -- it came in and faded out. And we had made reservations for a different hotel in the Bittar chain, the Bittar Inn, but they had failed to make a record of the reservation, so we were sent over here -- it was an upgrade because Plaza is a better hotel, but they should keep better track of their reservations.
The price was very high because of World Cup overcharging, which was standard throughout our trip to Brazil this past summer
These two blog posts discuss the hotel at somewhat greater length, and include a photo of the view from our hotel room
