We are visiting from California and went in for a simple cut. We weren't expecting much but at the very least some basic hair cutting skills. We requested just a few inches taken off- no layers etc. We even showed the stylist a photo and she acknowledged it and got to work. My poor sister left the salon not knowing any better but looking like an intoxicated preschooler used play school scissors on a Barbie doll for the first time. I won't go into detail but the pictures tell all. Completely uneven hack job. Be warned!!!! Do not get your hair cut at this establishment. Offering to fix the cut simply won't cut it as we would never trust them to touch her hair again. This experience made me question if the stylists are even qualified. read more

We just came back from a great trip to Bitterroot with our families. We went to the Bittersweet Salon on August 16th and had a Manicure and Pedicure. My sister and I were very disappointed in our service and the price was $80 each. Their prices were not posted and we would have never thought that the price would have been $80 each. Our nail salons in California (San Francisco area and Orange County) are much less. The nail salon (Happy Nails) that I go to for Elegant Manicure & Pedicure is $40. The nail polish that they used on my nails was old and bubbled up. Bittersweet salon should post their prices and only use new nail polish. This experience at Bittersweet salon was very disappointing and I regret that we went. read more

I cannot say enough about how much I love this salon. I am not a person who often spends time or money on my hair or nails. When I do spend the money, I wouldn't spend it anywhere else. Donna, the owner, will do just about anything to make sure clients are happy. I've had my hair cut, and colored multiple times and I've never left the salon feeling less than beautiful. I've also had a pedicure, which was lovely. The salon consistently gets high marks from the local community, and the gals at the salon raise money for local charities. I would recommend this salon to anyone who wants to deal with friendly "real" people, who listen to what you want and aren't stuffy. The prices are more than reasonable. I have been a client of the Bittersweet Salon for 3+ years and I have nothing but praise for all of the services I have received there!! I am an ex-Californian and was used to the most amazing stylists the state had to offer, including a very expensive trip to Jose Eber's in LA. In the 10 years I have lived in the Bitterroot Valley I have been to many salons. All the services were satisfactory. Then at the recommendation of a friend I went to Bittersweet and Donna Weidow! To say that I have been happy is an understatement!! Everytime she does my hair I am thrilled with the results! I am truly happier with her styles than I have EVER been (including Eber's). I have also had a mani, pedi, waxing and sugaring and have been happy with all services. And as far as the atmosphere, it's fantastic! These ladies are so fun and positive I find myself uplifted every time I walk through the door!!! It's is the best salon in Western Montana!! Give them a try! You won't be sorry!! Was not able to make a nail appointment, the salon was booked for the day BUT I will say that my short experience was not pleasing. Very awful customer service, very rude. As a future business owner I will say if any of my employees treated a customer in that manner they would be fired on the spot. Not what I expected out of a "5 star" place. I have never been spoken down to like this place and the service I received was a simple request that turned into a disaster.
