They included pots, pans, cutlery, dishes, dish soap. No air conditioning but they have oscillating fans - luckily our stay wasn't too hot. We found this place on Airbnb but decided to check their website for a better price without as many fees, tuee helped me process the deposit and reserve our cottage a month in advance We bought firewood from their store (only $11), and from a stand nearby, corn and ice cream. We were also able to roast marshmallows and potatoes in a foil, in the fire pit. Loved being able to swim in their pool (was cold though as it's not heated) and the lake, being able to kayak (single or double persons, and try stand up paddle boarding. They said they have eggs and butter but throughout our stay, they didn't have either. People also bring stuff to fish - we didn't try fishing Bring $200 for deposit in cash for easiest return. They have an arts/kids room with dollar tree items (like the standing unicorn), but it's nice to provide an indoor space for kids to play in. They say it's only available to play if you purchase crafts from them. You have to bring your own bedding and towels, or can rent - 4 sets cost $60. We have to throw our own trash and keep the place clean for next guests The cuttings of grass was quite annoying because after we walked to our cottage, all the grass stuck to our feet and legs and into the cottage. They cut grass every day we were there. The broom didn't have a dustpan to get rid of all the cuttings inside the cottage They also have a small discount for return visitors.

2024 review Today is a beautiful hot day for the beach and…read morewe arrived comfortably around 11am and parking was slowly filling up on the closer lots. $5/hour or $40 all day, there is parking police patrolling when we arrived. We chose to park on the west end by the boat marinas and it's a close walk to the white sand beach and lighthouse pier. Few more minutes to walk to the info hub, food truck and washrooms make it pretty easy anywhere on beach. The washrooms are also next to two simple playgrounds and splash pads. Nothing fancy but good place to rinse off the kids before getting back into the car. The sand is freshly groomed and very soft. Minor pebbles, debris that the kids could walk bare feet on. There was lots of space to play and set up camp, not as busy as expected especially arriving this late in the morning. In my honest opinion, while sitting on the towel ground, I could smell an odd aroma. It's probably an algae smell in the water and sands lingering around. I preferred sitting higher up from the wet sand and trenches the kids were digging up to get more airflow. No one else seemed to mind but when the gentle breeze wasn't blowing there was a weird smell. Feedback from my partner said the water is nice but as you go out further, there was some algae pockets in the lake sand making it kinda gross and slimy. Important to check by laws about what you can or cannot bring to the beach. There is frequent beach police patrolling the sands. Today's water quality levels online and on the beach showed it to be really low. Always check beach water quality before leaving as some have been in the red this summer. All in all, a decent place to go for a nice sandy beach. Kites, frisbee, water blow up toys, sand castles and kayaks in the water, this place is pretty chill to hang out at. The kids are having fun today and want to come back.

We were disappointed that the Nature center was "closed for the season." We were also disappointed that beach swimming was closed due to high bacteria levels. We enjoyed getting ice cream cones in the camp store which was run by really helpful park staff. Our kids loved the trail that parallels the water, and it was neat to see a lighthouse up close. I will say that the mosquitoes were terrible, so don't go without an ample supply of bug spray. Also, the raccoons in this park are BOLD and cheeky. Keep your food and trash out of reach of the critters. Overall, though, it was a beautiful park.

My wee family has been exploring. I went to Presqu'ile Provincial Park on a day pass and enjoyed a short, family-friendly hike and a swim on the sandy beach. It was a lovely day! The water was warm at the end of June (miracle!) and the park is doing a wonderful job implementing social distancing. I highly recommend the daytrip. So many bonus points for the chip trucks at the entrance. Chip truck poutine is always five stars.

We booked a fishing charter with Sean for my husband's birthday and the entire experience from…read morestart to finish was such a pleasure! Sean runs a fishing charter from Rice lake and Lake Simcoe and depending on the time of the year and how the fishing is at the time, Sean makes a recommendation on location and itinerary. Since our charter was in the late fall, Sean suggested we meet him on lake Simcoe. We drove up to meet Sean at a marina and he came with bait, all the fishing rods, pfd and everything else we would need to enjoy the day on the water fishing. We went out on his pontoon boat and felt very comfy and safe. Sean took care of putting all the baits on our hooks and showed us how to fish for the infamous lake Simcoe yellow belly perch. As you can see from the photos, we had an epic day of fishing! We were so impressed with Sean's attentive and friendly service, we are booked to go ice fishing with him soon. Will report back on how that experience goes!

I heard birds and saw signs about bird watching, so I'm guessing during summer the trails have opportunities for that. But I'm more interested in the trails which provide a great amount of physical activity. Many of these trails are interconnected, so you will have to take in parts of or, in a few cases, an entire trail to get to your desired trail, which can be hard to find given that the entrance is hidden. You want to enter near the butterfly garden as opposed to the sign in my photo. The trails, once you get on the right track, are clearly marked.

I've never used the squash courts but I really like the pool. The swim schedule is pretty great…read morethey have both public and adult swim, and different times through out the entire day. The staff is quite friendly as well as the life guards. They have great swim passes which are affordable and even offer a senior rate. Only issue I would have is that change rooms could be better cleaned/maintained. And warning it can get pretty loud from the high school kids coming over from next door on their lunch break.
