As a family of 7, this place is my go to for most of my shopping. I'd say it has 90% of what I need, at much better prices than any supermarket. I've been a member for over 7 years. It's always clean, customer service can be a hit pre miss. Most of my experiences have been good or neutral, I've had a few flustering moments with some of the employees, do to really bad attitudes. This location is always super busy and every open checkout station is always busy and every self-checkout station is always busy and the customer service desk is always busy. I guess that's a good thing, but I don't know if they need more people or if they just need another BJ's! What's funny is that when walking throughout the store there are pockets of congestion, but it doesn't really seem like there are a lot of people here except for at the checkout lines and in the parking lots. Oh yeah, and you can also never find a shopping cart. You have to flag one down from someone who is leaving. It's really the most bizarre thing. They have. I am super happy that they opened this bjs closer to my house, it's convenient. I go there once a month to stock up on things so need for the house, it's Bjs so it's forever crowded. The best times to go to this location is first thing in the morning, less ppl and you get through the lines really fast, the downside is they might not have everything in stock or out on the floor. Other than that, it's your typical wholesale club, come in get what you need and prayer you don't get stuck in the line. read more

Cashier had attitude galore. This Canarsie location BJ's should just close down. App coupon didn't apply to the purchase. I questioned it. Cashier accused me of clipping the app coupon after the purchase. Really? While standing right in front of her? As I continued questioning the coupon, the cashier rolled her eyes as if I was bothering her. This is not the first time that coupons are not applied. There is something seriously wrong with the system. Imagine being a healthcare worker, then also imagine literally people dropping like flies around you so frequently that you have to literally beg different floors for body bags because you ran out of your normal supplied inventory, then also imagine speaking with these patients family members and they pouring they hearts and life stories out on a telephone call about the patient because they are seeking answers about their loved ones then when they finish pouring they heart out I have to let them know that I am not authorized to give any information over the phone and the people that are authorized are busy saving lives with no breather or breaks in between. The things I have to deal with ain't nothing compared to what the DOCTORS, NURSES, and PATIENT CARE TECHS/ CNA's has to endure but just like them I put my health at risk day in and day out just by showing up and being in the "QUARANTINED" area so WHO Gives a (SEC SECURITY) security guard from bjs the right to try to embarrass me (literally right after my over night shift) in front of a VERY LONG LINE of customer waiting to come in regular store hours because basically my job title wasn't "essential" enough to his personal liking he had no problem letting me know that I'm no doctor or nurse last I checked it said ALL HEALTH CARE WORKERS!! I write with great reluctance a negative comments about this merchant because of it's close locality to me, but because I do business there I have no choice but to complaint about the Pickup section who's employee is very uncooperative and delay my schedule by hours.I had return a delivery because of harsh weather and simultaneously receive a call for another pickup.Instead of unloading the wagon with box product she made me go out and search for a new wagon in the pouring Rain.On my return she refuse to give me the new order.On several different Incident with that person, I had to search for the Manager or other Assistance to get the process moving.The Management Is not doing the company any favor keeping this person at this position and I will make sure that every Incident Is well documented and sent to the customers and my company.It's a shame when a small minority of bad help could wreak a large company. read more

This location is the worst I have ever shopped at. If one elevator is not working you will be waiting forever. The checkout list at the exit door can be half the length of the store. There is usually one person at the exit door. So what to do to avoid this issue? Schedule a visit during the afternoon time, because you are in and out in no time. What I noticed 1 hours before closing the cashier pros take over and clear shop. I love it. I wish every employee operates that way. Generally, I'm a Costco girl, but recently I've been favoring this BJs location for its ample parking, limited crowds, and fast moving lines. Now, wholesale shopping isn't for everyone, but if you have a decent amount of storage space, a vehicle to get your items home, and a friend to share the membership with, then you'll be pleasantly surprised to find some bargains on your basic necessities. For $250 a single person can stock up on the basics for about half a year. Your best bets are - soap, body wash, facial products (they have fantastic deals on bulk Olay products), deodorant, feminine products, paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, and dry cereal. If you're shopping for a family, especially a family of 5 or more, you can really get a good bang for your buck on standard grocery items - frozen waffles, lunch meats, syrup, honey, dried pasta, canned tuna, etc. Also, the bakery is fantastic. Recently BJs has been doing a lot to attract new customers, including honoring coupons and offering packaging that makes storage easier. However, before you jump in head first, objectively consider whether or not you will make good use of the membership. If you don't drive, the answer is likely no. The membership fee is $50 and includes a card for two members in the same "family". Right now they are offering a 60-day trial membership for free (http://www.bjs.com/map.content.minisite_map.D) so you can evaluate whether or not it's right for you. Lastly, to truly get the most for your money, you have to think about your consumption. Whenever I go to BJs I have to really consider what makes sense to buy in bulk. While the deal on two large packages of turkey sandwich meat sounds amazing, I have to objectively ask myself "how many turkey sandwiches am I really going to consume before that second package goes bad?" (because it really isn't a bargain if I end up throwing that second package out). Last week, my favorite buy was on Greek yogurt. I think it was like $12 for a case of 12. Came here with my sister over the weekend to pick up a few items for a get together. One of the elevators is broken and everyone is trying to squeeze in the other ones with their huge carts. I think I was squished between two carts. You need GPS for the store. We walked around for 15 minutes looking for a bag of chips. If you can find an employee they are usually helpful. This place is useful to shop for an event or if you have a big family and space to store these gigantic items. Then the lines, goodness. Buying a ton of food is always questionable for me. At time the saving is great and at other times, the savings can vary from a few cents to a few dollars. Buying in bulk also means that you are tying up more cash in products. I don't like that this BJ's is not on the ground floor. I don't like bring carts into elevators. Also the staff don't really seem to care but that is like any other BJ's. I can't blame them, not really a career. However the location is pretty big. read more

I don't even know where to begin! I understand the craziness if shopping in BJ's on a Friday night, but what I don't understand is the unpleasantness of their employees. Due to high traffic of shoppers I wasn't able to locate a shopping cart anywhere In the parking lot, shopping cart stations, or in the lobby of BJ's entrance. So like any other shopper who is ready to spend an insane amount of cash in BJ's, I approached a worker to ask for assistance in helping me locate a cart. I swear to you he had the audacity to point to elevator and say "Well you didn't check the roof parking lot, why don't you check there". *blank stare* I didn't even try to understand the whole rationale behind that comment. When I opened my mouth to tell him two bad words, my brother quickly located a cart and dragged me away. After spending almost a hour filling my cart I spent almost another hour standing on line waiting to ring up my items. What I don't understand is the lack of cashiers on a Friday night when the customer volume is so high. I saw cashiers talking and hanging out like they were there to chill than work. I also noticed that cashiers where improperly trained and had problems working their registers which causes their line to stop all together. I have been a member at BJ's for over 20 years . I remember having to drive to Long Island in order to shop at BJ's. When two Bjs opened in Brooklyn I was very happy to save myself the long trip, ( don't forget the one in Bayridge . The BJs on a Remsen is a health hazards for its customers. Such a big company should not be treating their customers like that. The entrance to the upper level of the parking lot has been damaged for a long time. They need to get it fixed. Someone is going to get hurt. The ramp at the exit to the parking lot is cracked also . My cart which was quit heavy because I spent about $ 250.00 on that particular day got stuck in the crack . I struggled with it to get it to move. As I was placing the items in my car I noticed a few other customers having the same issue. I hate to say it , but if this was in a "white " neighborhood it would have been repaired a long time ago. Get it together BJ's. Treat all your customers equally. read more

I love BJ's. They have the cheapest... everything! Bulk buying is great so you don't have to go back and forth to grocery stores every week. I have to say I wasn't impressed at all by this BJ's when I first joined (December 2013). Since the new BJ's was built right off of the Belt Parkway, they've really gone above and beyond to make sure their customers stay loyal to their store. They now have so many different brands and better food (although I still won't buy fruit & some veggies from them). They're very clean and they're well stocked unless there's a sale (or coupon) on a popular item. BJ's really vamped up their pet products (food/ litter/ etc) and there is such a variety now which I'm really excited about. The only negative about this BJ's is that the lines take FOREVER! The staff usually isn't very quick and oftentimes, there is a massive amount of people who shop here (thankfully they have a parking lot in the front AND in the back of the store). I'd recommend going to BJ's anytime in the morning/ early afternoon Monday - Friday (Tues- Thurs are the best). I wouldn't recommend going on the weekend unless you want to waste 45 minutes standing in line. read more

Came to BJs on a mission - Bakery or go home!!! This Brooklyn location is pretty decent, I have yet to get caught up in EBT Tuesday or the dreadful long lines that most stores have especially in the Bronx. It was an in and out mission, to the Bakery and back - besides I only had enough funds for the cake because sometimes I tend to lose my mind when I'm shopping in BJs. The store is always clean, the signs are big and visible so you can easily maneuver your way around the store and find all the items you need. The cashiers are about business, check you out, NEXT, check the person out, NEXT - they actually make the job look dreary but hey I'm just a customer. The parking lot is shared with other stores and the Planet Fitness in the complex, however BJs does offer their customers additional parking on an upper level to the building. But let's be real, when you go to most stores with a parking lot you want to be as close to the door as possible! Other than that the sales in the store vary month to month but majority of the time they're good deals. They sell just about everything down to the kitchen sink. They have a Bakery that makes tons of deliciousness from Bagels, muffins, cookies, cakes etc. which most are made daily. And they even have a coupon book to give you the chance to get even more savings. I'll definitely be back, duh because I'm a member but if you're into semi bulk shopping and lower market priced merchandise then JOIN THE CLUB TOO!!! read more

I'm mostly upset my 83 year old parent was made to wait in line for 2 hours due to the new pandemic system to get inside. It was the late afternoon, Even after security was approached and notified that standing for too long would be intense. I know the senior shopping time is 8am-9am which is insane although really?! I was pleasantly surprised at this BJ's location. I anticipated long, grueling lines because I didn't get to the store until 11:00 AM on a Sunday. The lines moved fast, there were stocked shelves with all of my favorites and they were well staffed with cashiers. I will definitely shop here in the future. This location beats Gateway hands down! People have no idea where the line begins and ends. They needs to be more help keeping the check out lines in order and running efficiently. It would calm down on the tension amongst people in line. This store has 6 registers open with lines bending all the way to the food aisle. No one even considered that school starts tomorrow and parents will be shopping for lunch and snacks to prepare before school starts. All lines are moving at an equally slow rate with one person checked out after 10 minutes. They must do better. At least provide us with decent samples and books to read on the line.
