I called today around noon to arrange a ride for my mom, who had a serious eye infection and needed to get to Vision Associates for a 2:00 PM appointment. It is a long drive, and I was really worried about getting her there on time.Patty was incredibly helpful and efficient. She had a driver at my mom's place by 1:00 PM, which got her to her appointment completely stress-free. Every time I call, Patty is always so kind, respectful, and polite. I really appreciate her help today because missing that appointment could have been a real issue for my mom's health. called for a van for 3 people told them 2 were heavier people they told me ok the would send a van but what came was a toyota corolla could only fit 2 in had to be left behind and walk home while the 2 that fit took the cab the driver felt really bad about it tried to see if i could sit in the front seat but they said NO against the rules. I had to walk 6 miles home they didnt even try to offer me another cab or anything!!! worst cab company should of told me they couldnt get a van so i could of made other plans. They lie about their reviews on line. They have people make fake reviews. They lie about how fast they can get to a person. It takes an hour most of the time. They dont deserve even one star... I "rely" on them for my doctors appointments that my life depends on... So unfortunately i have to base the pick up time on them most likely being up to an hour late... And that doesn't even get me to my appointments on time. And if they are not late as hell, they sometimes show up ridiculously early. How is this helpful. Yelp, you need to let us give zero stars. One star implies there was some value received. I sure wish I had read reviews prior to booking but my hotel recommended this service and I relied on that recommendation. I had an awful experience. I booked the afternoon before and scheduled a 6 AM pickup. I received a text confirmation. Then, I received another confirmation 30 min before pickup time. Then 15 min before, a text saying they were looking for a driver. Then 17 minutes after scheduled time, another text saying they were looking for a driver. I called three times and spoke to someone each time. The first two told me to be patient, someone would be there. The last person told me there were no drivers and no guarantee of a ride within the next 20 minutes. He also said the reservation or confirmation did not mean someone would actually be there at that time. He said that's not the way they work. I would have missed my train had it not been for a nice hotel guest who took me to the station. Toledo is great but I will not try this service again. read more

I'm not certain how Black and White stays open. Honestly. I'm my forty years on planet earth, few businesses have been as ineffective, Inefficient, and unprofessional as Black & White transportation. I'm not sure a longer, more negative review would do any good, considering that I imagine this review will either not be read by new consumers (who most likely would use Uber or Lyft) or not be read by B&W simply because they clearly don't care. A quick summation: I have booked black and white transportation to pick up clients of mine at a particular time for three weeks straight. Not once, I repeat, not once has black and white been able to complete their simple task correctly. 21 calls/pickups arranged. 2 completely missed pickups. 5 different attempts to Bill my credit card when they had it on file and they reported not having it. 3 different times where my client was held up in the car because they claimed the credit card was not on file. 1 time where the driver refused to let my client leave the car because of a credit card glitch from their receiving end. 1 completely missed pickup despite my client standing on the side of the road where she was nearly late for work and was nearly fired. 11 late arrivals including 1 time where the driver was 54 minutes late and my client stood in the freezing cold in a seedy part of Toledo at 1:40am (not a safe decision) The bottom line is that if you want safe and efficient, timely transportation, you need to call an Uber or Lyft, or some other transportation company. I don't feel right blaming the drivers or receptionists of Black & White transportation, I feel this is a management issue, start to finish. Good grief. read more

This taxi service is always late. I schedule my pickup at least am hour before appointment and they always get me there late. Medical transportation is supposed to be priority 1. I can't tell. The a.m. customer service representatives are rude and hang up on you. My appointments are important, and this service is through job and family services. Are negative stars an option? The definition of incompetence and utter stupidity. Can't even qualify as unprofessional. We called on Saturday afternoon to arrange a cab to the airport early Sunday morning. The woman was incoherent and not able to form full sentences. We finally were able to secure the ride. Cab never showed up on Sunday morning, and we missed our flight because of this failure of a "business." When we called to find out where the cab was, the woman who answered was clearly asleep and said "the cab isn't going to be there. Not for awhile." We took a different service and while at the airport, three hours later, they called us four times. Too late, dumb asses! read more

Sole provider through J &FS for my elderly and ill father who needs this service to transport him to dialysis 3x a week. He has used their services for 4 months and has had many unsafe situations including drivers asking him to climb up into vans using unsecured step stools and drivers asking him to stand on lifts without any way of securing him. He uses a walker and is at risk for falls but when I call to complain they are oblivious to the risk they are posing to him. They thought that forcing him to use a wheelchair for transport would be a good answer. Who wants to use a wheelchair if they don't have to? It's not wise to further debilitate individuals. I had to speak with someone multiple times just to have a sedan sent out instead. He sits at his dialysis clinic for a whole hour before his appointment waiting for his already long 3.5 hour treatment because they wont adjust his pickup time despite many requests to do so. He and I have both asked them to adjust his pickup time but they will not. Just what your sick loved one wants to do - spend an extra hour in an uncomfortable chair in the dialysis clinic lobby being exposed to everyone else's germs. Black and white has mixed him up with another individual who has the same name but different address multiple times so either they've showed up to take him when he doesn't have dialysis or they don't show up when he does have dialysis and all anyone can do is make excuses but never changes to ensure this doesn't happen again. I suggested they simply add his middle name but they said that was not possible. We would have to call his insurance to do that. As many times as this has happened why are they NOT using additional identifiers instead of just using name? Because they obviously don't care that they are putting hiccups in peoples schedules. It's infuriating that this sloppily run company with oblivious and apathetic employees is the only company the sick and elderly have an option to use through J&FS. This company that has transportation accounts with places like tarps, job & family service, etc. is very unprofessional rude and abrupt! The persons answering the phones and booking the trips you can hardly understand! Then when you ask why is your cab that you booked two days ago thirty minutes late they get even more rude & abrupt some may hang up! Then a person that's not from the united states will be your driver and talk on the phone in another language the entire ride or play music you cant even understand. At 11:10 AM on a Friday, I ordered a pickup (11:30 PM) for my daughter who was attending a wedding that evening. (Uber or Lyft is not available in this area) I received request confirmation through a text message and then an online booking confirmation sent to me via email for the ride. I then called to make sure they accepted credit cards for the ride that evening, and asked what I needed to do if I needed the ride sooner. They told me to just call about an hour before if I needed to change it. I called at 9:30 PM and asked to be picked up at 10:30 PM instead of 11:30 PM. They said no problem and updated it. Not only did they not show up at 10:30, they never showed up at all. I called to see what was going on and they told me they were searching for a car in the area, and asked if I wanted to cancel, and I asked them why this wasnt assigned to a driver when i made the reservation? Then I was hung up on. So I grabbed my keys to pick up my daughter and her friends. When I was driving home (12:02 AM) They called and asked me if I still needed a ride, I toled them yes and I was still waiting. I guess Im still waiting because I never received another call. Its terrible that a company can treat people like this, when they know they are one of the only options people have. So when a company like this complains about lost revenue since Uber and Lyft have appeared, they should take a good look at how they treat their customers. My husband and my brother were waiting for over 2 1/2 hours in the snow and then the dispatcher argued with my husband . And they are known to get your address wrong they don't bother to put you in the system they argue with you saying they called and never did they are EXTREMELY rude. Cab 89 was the worst driver I've ever had. He's rude. Always on his phone. Cannot believe he has a job anywhere. Another driver asked me for my number in exchange for payment after hitting on me the entire ride. You never know when they will show up and sometimes they show up and if u dont come out within a minute they Leave or they dont let you know they have arrived at all. The absolute worst call center! It needs to be local! I will call an hour to two hours in advance and still be calling back for another 3 hours to find out where my taxi is. No real time spans on when the drivers will dispatch a taxi and information (like address pickups and drop offs) are constantly messed up. read more

They were on time. The problem I have is with the mini vans they use. I have arthritis and have a problem getting into the cab because the step is too high. The drivers were not too helpful. I have a portable stepping stool and don't need help stepping up when I use it but am unable to pick it up after I get in. I would be willing to pay extra for them to pick it up and give it to me but it seems like cab companies should take this disability in consideration. Most of the cabs used to be sedans and I had no trouble getting in or out. That is what I was expecting when I called the cab company. read more

Black N White from Toledo /Maumee is just Fantastic. I am always glad to to proceed with this cab and used many times. But it was sad that there is now dispute between local driver and company and which leads to bad situation for Maumee/Toledo Customers. Just survived 15 minutes of horrible ride. Cab #89, drived by affrican immigrant. He did not even bother to offer assistance to passenger upon entering or existing the cab . He was a reckless driver as he was consistently glued to FB on his phone while driving.ALL THE TIME. Thank God i reached to my destination Smelly and disgusting cab. The worst part is he still asking me TIP even he did not offer any assistance. This is one of too many bad experience i have when using this company service. OVERPRICED and RUDE DRIVER. I called the dispatch to get a cab. He said it would be 10-30 minutes, which it actually was. However, when he asked if I'd be paying cash or credit and I said credit, he said no problem. When the driver arrived, he said the credit machine didn't work. I said,"no big deal, we'll pass an ATM on the way to the destination and I'll get you cash". The car was a piece of junk, the driver had B.O and wouldn't wear a set belt, so his indicator was annoyingly chiming for the duration of the ride. But the worst part was the .23 cents per 10th mile. We went 9 miles but the bill was $32? Insane for Toledo and not the rate their website proclaims to charge. Then of course the driving was fumbling trying to make change and asked if I had singles. I didn't, so now this ridiculously expensive $32 cab ride now cost $35. I would never recommend using this company. Take the bus! read more

Their service was the best ad for Uber yet. Called for a taxi on Saturday mid-afternoon in West Toledo. Was told I'd be picked up in 15-30 min. Wasn't snowing yet, but it did start snowing about 25 min into the 45 min wait. After 45 min. I used Uber. Was picked up in 15 min. Called to cancel cab, waited on hold for 6 more minutes. By this time it was nearly an hour since I first called and was told a cab was on the way and was given attitude for cancelling. I should have just used Uber to begin with. read more
