I took a 2 pairs of men's shorts to be altered, shortened. They did not take out the original stitching and tuned the hem under and stitched over the original hem. The hem is too thick and the hem bunches due to an excess of material. I will be taking the shorts to a seamstress to have them done properly. Very disappointing. read more

This past winter, we dropped off clothes to be dry-cleaned. When we picked up our clothes, my white, premium dress shirt was discolored in a certain area, which was not present when we dropped it off. We requested to have it dry-cleaned again. We attempted to pick it up on 02/02/23, 03/12/23, and 04/04/23. However, the discoloration was still present and became worse each time. We requested a refund and the replacement cost for my dress shirt. However, Michelle, the manager, told us that we needed to talk with Charlie, the owner. We have called and left multiple voicemails. Specifically, I spoke with Michelle on 08/07/23. Again, she told me that I must talk with Charlie. This month, I left voicemails on 08/09/23 and 08/10/23. I attempted to call again. However, the store blocked my calls. Also, I have emailed him numerous times. He has not returned my calls or emails. We have been attempting to resolve the issue for 8 months. However, Charlie, the owner, refuses to communicate to remedy the situation. We have been more than patient. From our experience, the owner and manager do not seem to care about their customers or their customers' garments. We will no longer be using Twin Oaks Cleaners' services. Do not use if in military. They were recommended to me by a former service member for my dress uniform so I took it in prior to a formal event. The patches were sewn on upside down (which is confusing because there is clearly an Eagle on it- which is now upside down). When I called and let them know, they were not willing to fix it by when I needed it, which was over a week, and told me I should go somewhere else. 0/10. read more

They removed the dye from my husbands shirt. It was orange when I dropped it off and was lime green when I picked it up. I have gone there for over 25 years, but no more. The owner has video cameras which would clearly show the original color of the shirt and will not share it with me. read more

I took off 1 star for not accepting credit/debit cards (this is 2012, who uses cash anymore?) then I took off 1 star for not having a Website (c'mon, really?) but the final straw was when I went in for an alteration (which they advertise they do in big letters on the front of the store) and the lady working asked me how much I wanted hemmed. When I asked if there wasn't a changing room so I could have the person pin how much I wanted hemmed (like every other alteration place in the world) she told me there was no one there to fit me. Really? How do you advertise you perform a service and then can't provide said service. I only went here because Lasalle's is closed on the weekend. I dropped off 2-dresses and when I came to pick them up 2 days later I dropped off a suede pair of pants. Wow, what a surprise to find I received a call a couple months later asking "had I forgotten my pants or did I no longer want them." Not many place would be kind enough to give you that call. When he couldn't, he offered to replace my coat himself (luckily it was on sale since winter is supposed to be over). My family has been using Twin Oaks Cleaners for decades-even after some of us moved out of the city. They are top-notch at noting and removing stains, freshening up tired fabric, and pressing clothing so it looks like it just came off the rack. They ARE a cash-only business, which, in the era of exorbitant bank fees and credit card fraud, is a smart practice in my book. Worst place ever to take your clothes! Went in today to pick mine up and they said they had threw them away per my request. The only request I made was to have my clothes cleaned.. Why would I want you to throw them away. The owner told me I was a liar and that about 30 mins after dropping my clothes off I called back and said it was too much money, to jut throw them away. Seriously?!??! If it were too much money, why didn't I go back and just pick them up. I knew the cost of the services, it was on the claim ticket that I was handed before I left. Get Real! read more
