Went to shoot pool with some friends and had a really lovely time. In small town fashion, I met some locals who were friendly and invited me to play. It wasn't quite a Hollywood experience... but it was something special nonetheless. You can rent the pool tables by the hour. It was 10.75 per hour on a Friday night. The drinks were fairly priced and the tap list was robust. Parking is easy on the adjacent streets. The music was a bit loud from my taste, but at least the tunes were awesome. Very grungy place. Nice staff. It just draws in a very odd clientele. Plenty of pool tables. Not much to brag about when it comes to overall appearance. Try not to come on pool league night. Got a little busy, which was nice because the rest of the town/street was quite quiet for a saturday night, and there were always more tables open for walk ins. There is a lot to say about Black Dog Billiards and all of its good. Now one might say that serving only beer and wine isn't a good thing, but with the selection of beers on tap and in bottle you can easily find something that hits your taste buds just right. Due to being a billiard hall it has plenty of open space which is nice, it doesn't feel cramped like other establishments you may have been to even on their busiest nights. You can rent a set of billiard balls or play on the quarter tables near the back. I find it better to just rent a set and get a pitcher of beer. The staff is incredible by the way, friendly service and always willing to give you a few samples if you're not sure what it is you're looking for. The atmosphere only adds to this as the patrons are friendly and the place is pretty chill, never gets too rowdy. If you're looking for a place to get a beer (or wine) shoot some pool and be in good company and relax, you can't beat Black Dog Billiards. read more

The service was excellent, the pool tables not so much. They were worn and needed to be upgraded badly. Some local youths didn't seem to like outsiders who made themselves at home, such as myself. I do tend to enjoy myself, which is what someone partaking in libations should do. But, the liquid courage does have an effect on certain individuals. I can say, without a moments hesitation, I always saw the bartenders maintain control of the environment. On crowded nights with the drinks flowing that can be rather challenging, so they have my respect for dealing with all situations in the best of ways. Be forewarned, this small city has a multitude of law enforcement: sheriffs, marked police cars, unmarked police cars, and plain clothes variety law enforcement. Even though it's one of the only places to play pool in Klamath Falls, it's still the best! Great tables and plenty of space to move. Fair prices too. I'm especially happy that they decided to carry wine for those of us who are unable to drink beer. Thanks Black Dog! I also like the fact that I can bring food in here. The beer selection is pretty good, and the prices are average. The pool equipment is sub-par, however. Tables have slow action and lousy rails, and the cues are largely warped. Plenty of space, however, and I've never had trouble getting a table. Hourly rates and atmosphere are average for a pool hall. Smoke-free. read more

I like this place, its the only pool hall in town im aware of. however, there are somethings about it that kinda suck. Theres not usually that many people there, especially chicks! The pool hall I went to where i used to live there was always good looking girls, customers and employees alike. And they would do body shots on the bar! Anyways... A pitcher of micro beer (about $14 if I remember correctly) seems kind of steep but it might be comparable to other bars. For a pool hall, their sticks are pretty crappy. Now for my BIGGEST complaint - the music (or lack there of). I cant believe the only source of music is a standard jukebox! If no one pays for the jukebox, theres no music! Its like playing pool in library! Who wants to do that?? Im not paying a dollar for 2 songs when I went there to spend money on pool. Its irritating. Most places Ive been to the jukebox has auto-play if no one makes a selection. If management happens to read this, you really need to do something about the music. That is the main reason I only gave it 3 stars. Other than those things listed, its a decent place to play pool. read more
