Food is always good. The homemade chips are the best around! Service is sonetes ower but the club sandwich and chips are well worth a wait.

We decided to try out The Dog House because it was nearby, and we were very pleasantly surprised! The Dog House has very nice outdoor seating in a deck/patio area. They have a good selection of beers, and the service was fast and friendly. But where they really shine is the food (which they prepare in a teeny, tiny little kitchen!). We had the Stuffed Super Tots, which are huge tater tots stuffed with cheese, bacon, and chives, and served with a creamy dipping sauce. They were very crispy and cheesy - will certainly have them again. We also shared a Monster Burger and a side of the Best Fries Ever. The fries were indeed excellent - fresh, hot, and crispy, everything you want in a French fry. The Monster Burger was huge (TWO half-pound patties, with cheese and bacon - plenty big enough for two people!), juicy and delicious. If you're craving comforting pub food in the Mount Horeb area, give The Dog House a try - it's a true hidden gem!

It is before Halloween. Anyway every lady and gall dresses up in a black gown and goes out on the town ; we just happened to be in this town that nite It was fun , and they all seamed to have fun We picked this little bar that night as we were traveling through , it was jammed But that's not the story The hamburger maybe the best burger ever . They serve maybe a one pound made in house Burger simple , we had ours with a big pile of fresh mushrooms and cheese made to order at the bar . My wife is on no salt , no problem , we split it , it was huge . Maybe if your 25 you could eat a whole one ( it was only about $13.00) A really great burger and a beer , a friendly place life is good .

My wife and I ventured out to Mount Horeb for dinner at Driftless Social on a Saturday night…read morerecently. We had a reservation, which I would recommend, and were seated immediately. The restaurant is fairly small, but cozy. The ambiance is very relaxed and social. It was a bit noisy but a good noisy, not obnoxious noisy; people having good conversations and lots of laughing. Our server greeted us in a timely manner and took our drink order. I ordered an old fashioned, my wife a Hugo spritz. Both were fantastic but just a heads up, the drinks were relatively strong. The menu is relatively small but still enough to choose from and not be disappointed. My wife and I both ordered the 5 oz filet with shrimp. We split a side of green beans. When our food reached our table, we thought that it might not be enough to fill us but we were more than full afterwards and agreed that anything bigger might be too much. The food was excellent, one of the better steaks I've had in a while. The service was good and our server, Sammy, did a real nice job of taking care of us without being overly intrusive. Prices were appropriate for the quality, maybe a little higher than you would expect but still worth it. If you're looking for a high quality, local small town steak experience that isn't a chain, I highly recommend Driftless Social.

They had great manhole lid sized cookies, and many other baked goods. The counter service area had a really neat art-deco line of lights and fixtures. There was a soda jerk who performed all sorts of amazing stunts with glasses and ice cubes. The bathroom was upstairs and the men's room had a giant urinal that was built into the wall with a tongue that stuck out at the bottom. I remember feeling very intimidated by this thing when I was 3 or 4, which is about when we started going there. The last time I visited before the conversion to whatever the f it is now was in 2017. I was hiding tears the whole time I was there. I was so happy to be there again. Naturally, I raced upstairs to check on the child-eating urinal. Sadly, it was boarded over. I bought the closest thing they had to a cowpie and headed out. I was pretty upset when I saw that my beautiful little restaurant had passed away. I will never forget how happy it made me feel.

New owners added some tables inside and expanded the service outside. They also created a tent area, volleyball court and a music stage behind the building. The food has always been great. We love the fish fry. Lots of choices for fish: haddock, walleye and perch. Fish can be broiled or fried in a nice beer batter. Broad selection of potato options and homemade coke slaw. On this night two had perch, one had haddock and I had shrimp. Fish was cooked perfectly, as always. My shrimp were big and tasty - 5 of them with cocktail sauce on the side. I decided to have sweet potato fries and they were great. So look, the place is small and it's busy. Want a tip - go early. Stake your claim to a table and enjoy a great meal. Oh, they've added other things to the menu like prime rib and something called the trio which is a sampler of three kinds of fish, but you can't beat fish fry. Staff is friendly and overworked, so give them a break. It will take a little while to get your food, but when it comes you will be pleased. Highly recommend without any reservations. Tremendous value and have never been disappointed. Place is becoming very popular. How popular you ask? A month ago we were out there and we arrived a little later than usual. They were so busy, they ran out of fish. Now that's a good sign.
