First- I'd like to start with the fact that there are a few great and caring people that work here,…read morebut I was very disappointed with how my child was treated. My child is 3-years-old and never had any problem until a certain teacher taught her when she went up one class. She was in a class with a teacher who has been there for quite a while. My daughter had an issue with her specifically when she was in a younger class, but I thought it was just because she was strict. Now almost two years later, my child would come home and tell me stories of her day. Stories would include how the teacher was mean and yelled at her, or she didn't get to eat lunch because she couldn't set up her nap spot alone. Something today spoke to me and told me to log on and watch her in her class (they have cameras in each room). I logged on when the teachers were setting up for lunch and the kids were setting up for their nap. My daughter is 3-years-old in a class of almost 5-year-olds, so it's understandable that she would need more help than others. I watched as my child sat quietly next to her nap mat that was folded in half because she was unable to get her fitted crib sheet over the mat by herself. I then watched a teacher fix one of the nap mats herself by putting a child's fitted sheet on the mat. My daughter even stood up, approached the teacher and pointed toward her mat as if she were asking for help. She was shrugged off. I watched painfully for 25 minutes as much child sat pathetically unable to do it alone. The other children were having lunch. My daughter could not eat lunch until she fixed her nap spot. I am a logical and understanding person, but this is no way to treat a child and not allowing them to have lunch is UNETHICAL. After watching for long enough, I stormed out of work and went to pick up my child. I confronted the director, who was very understanding and apologized for the situation, but I will not return my daughter to a place where she feels bullied and is punished for being a toddler. Irate, livid and inconsolable are a few words to describe how I am feeling right now as a mother. As I said, I know there are great people who work at Stepping Stones-- because my daughter had them as teachers and has told me nice stories about them, but I will never return or refer anyone to enroll their child there and feel the way I do now. I urge the staff and owners to look into the teaching methods used and how the children are being treated on a daily basis. And I hope no parents or their children ever have to experience this or feel the way we do right now. I have videos and photos of the event from the online webcam system and I do plan on proceeding further to make sure this does not happen to anyone else's child.

Mrs Amy- G.Y.M. Kids after school care…read more Mrs. Amy has been a tremendous blessing to myself and my child this past school year. My four year old started Kindergarten Readiness in an Elementary school. That means his schedule was the same as a third graders and a huge transition to say the least. At first he wouldn't talk, play, or eat. Lunches and snacks came home untouched. He would cry when I would come to get him and not let go even after we arrived home. Add on top of all of that, he has a special diet. He is allergic to many types of food and the ones he is not allergic to are highly limited (like sugar). The school and staff work with me on his diet as well as our religion. We do not celebrate "mainstream holidays". An example would be Santa or the Easter Bunny. Mrs. Amy and the staff have gone out of their way to make sure my son is included in activities without compromising our religious beliefs. When I pick up my child now, he asks why did I come so early. He brings home art and when I sneak in the room to watch him, he is laughing and playing. He is eating better and asks for snacks. He has grown sooooo much and I know he would not have blossomed if it wasn't for a caring and nurturing teacher like Mrs. Amy. Mrs. Amy has also helped me transition. She updates me on my son and answers my "is he normal" questions. She lets me know when he is acting out and she doesn't sugar coat it.This, above all, I appreciate. I am a single SINGLE mom. I am all that my son has. She corrects him in love and lets me know what she said as well as exactly what he did to deserve correction. From a single mom's point of view....Hallelujah,I am not the only one trying to mold my son to become a responsible, respectful man; Mrs. Amy is helping AND guiding me!!! She is always kind, loving, and she has the natural gift of genuine childcare. She notices when my child is absent, She notices when something is wrong, and she cares enough to take a moment to talk to me. This is the type of teacher a parent longs for.

We have had the experience of several of the teachers and each have been just amazing. He has shown tremendous improvement in all areas of early childhood development - vocabulary and language, reading, writing, numbers, geography and overall social skills. All credit goes to the dedicated teachers, the Montessori curriculum and the class environment this school has created for children. The great thing about this school is that it is nothing like a typical day-care. It follows a popular Montessori system where teachers follow a curriculum to teach specific skills to children based on their age and ability. The flexible system allows children to pick up on things they love to do, master it and then move on to something new. I found the school environment homey & comfortable yet professional and safe. The classes are big and bright with tons of educational material. Another thing I love about this school is that the teachers are very honest with you and work with you to help your child in areas that they need extra help with. Teachers consistently encouraged our child, fed his appetite for new and exciting learning needs, provided feedback and involved parents through out the school year via activities. Our son is in a safe and very nurturing environment, he is learning and having fun at the same time. What more could parents ask for? We strongly recommend this school to our friends and neighbors all the time.
