They also work very hard to keep parents informed through the use of technology, so there's no reason for parents to wonder what is going on with their kids at this school. The facilities always appear to be well maintained, which is a good indicator of the mentality of the school. (Disrepair = don't care) All around a great school!

Under Tennessee Law ADHD is considered a DISABILITY and no one with that disability can be denied recess... "Legal Rights of Children with ADHD in Tennessee Section 504 Overview Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in programs receiving federal financial assistance. This includes public schools, which must provide appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities, such as those with ADHD. Recess and Accommodations Equal Access: Schools are required to ensure that students with disabilities have equal access to educational opportunities, which includes recess. 504 Plan Requirements: If a child with ADHD has a 504 Plan, the school must follow the accommodations outlined in that plan. Denying recess could be seen as discriminatory if it does not align with the child's specific needs. Conclusion In Tennessee, a child with ADHD in a 504 school program cannot be legally denied recess, as it would violate their rights under Section 504. Schools must provide the necessary accommodations to support the child's educational experience." Rockvale Middle School has done just that. It has willingly broken the law protecting ADHD/504 kids. Lawsuit is pending and you need to understand that most of these teachers are mostly activists and do not understand the LAWS protecting such children nor are they willing to enforce the law because of their own IMPATIENCE. Therefore, NEGLECT IS ALLOWED here as no school official stated any SAFETY reasons for the child being removed for a week for recess. It was done as a means of PUNISHMENT and simply says if you misbehave, you cant play with the good kids. It singles them out and violates their rights. I know that ADHD kids are hard to manage...I worked with delinquent children in detention homes for 14 years. But I also know patience is needed and in public schools, its not a value they have as they are mostly babysitters. If you ever have a child with ADHD and in a 504 program denied recess as punishment, you have a great case for a lawsuit against the school. If this issue is not resolved today [9/2/26] I will be filing a lawsuit against Rockvale Middle School.

This school has been the biggest disappointment. To say my…read moredaughter age 14 was bullied and ostracized by the staff, and the principal is an understatement. I sat down and met with the principal myself, and he assured me to send my daughter to school. "Everything was fine." He went over my documents and things were in order. The following day she reported to school was made to sit in the office for half the day while she cried because she couldn't get a schedule. It's a public school that she is zoned for and they refuse to accept her because l am lacking a parenting plan from a man that abused her and dropped contact 4 years ago. I was told it's a necessary document for Rutherford county schools, but the thing is she's been in Rutherford County schools all her life with no such document. He's been dodging his responsibilities as a father for years but myself and my child are punished for me not trying to take him to court for some crazy document that he isn't going to follow. You're best off avoiding this school if you don't fit inside their simple little box of expectations. They are focused on anything except education. if you don't plan on going to college for sports don't go to this school.

It is only just not as abusive as Benton Hall when the old principle strangled me when I was six for cursing out a teacher. If you're being compared to a Catholic school, then something is wrong. A large part of me wants to stay silent--because it's easier. But another part of me knows I need to speak out, if only to warn other families. What we witnessed at FRCS wasn't just favoritism--it was a pattern of corruption that began at the top, with the newly appointed pastor, and trickled straight through the administration. At the center of this pattern was a husband-and-wife duo--both administrators--who, in the fall of 2024, devised a plan that directly benefited their child, while overlooking other students. We learned of this scheme through their own child. In the months that followed, their student worked to advance that scheme--lying, slandering peers, and creating a false narrative, all make that "advantage" seem genuine. Our daughter became a direct target of those lies. Classrooms full of students witnessed the behavior. When we brought our concerns to the principal--this student's father--he denied the possibility of wrongdoing. We escalated our concerns to the pastor, imploring him to look into even broader accusations of cheating, dishonesty, and ethical violations. We hoped someone in leadership would take a stand for what's right. Instead, after weeks of meetings, we sat in stunned silence at the 2025 graduation ceremony as this same student was honored--not with one, but two Christian character awards. We had done everything the right way. We remained private. We spoke respectfully. We went to the appropriate leaders. We presented clear concerns. And in return, it was completely dismissed. This isn't about awards. It's about integrity. It's about what it means to be a Christ follower, especially when no one is watching. FRCS had an opportunity to stand for truth. Instead, they chose favoritism. To be clear, we have a clean conscience before God. We didn't exaggerate. We didn't lie. We told the truth. And yet, we were met with denial and performative "resolutions" that resolved nothing. The damage done that day won't be forgotten--by us, by our daughter, or by the many students and parents who were just as stunned. The message FRCS sent was loud and clear: corruption will be rewarded if it comes from within the "church". If you have a student who excels academically, athletically or in any other way, know there is a high likelihood they will be overlooked for more favored students.
