Well stocked Pro Shop and Locker Rooms are at the entire which haven't seen either in many other competing centers around town! What makes Smithfield PTC special is their membership offerings for both lessons and clinics. They have a Standard membership if you are a social player or a Premium membership to allow you 6+ Reservations each month. The value of what is included in membership dues compared to what you pay is very affordable. If I were to live in Cedar Rapids full-time, I would be at Smithfield daily for their Pickleball drop-ins and recreation play. All the members I met during my stay were both friendly and inviting on and off the court. Looking forward to coming back to Cedar Rapids to visit Smithfield PTC in the near future!

On the coldest day of the year I decided to park my car and watch the birds ---- bald eagles to be exact. At least 25 of them. Just, wow! Is this an Iowa City thing? If so, I'd drive here just to bird watch at City Park more often. Looks like a fabulous little park (from what I can see under all the snow). Would be a fun place to come back and visit during the warmer months. Recommend - if for no other reason than to bald eagle watch!

All are usually very kind and helpful and want to know how they can improve the gym and how my experience was. Not sure I'll be back. The rest of the employees there are wonderful however!

You can reserve ball fields through the Coralville Rec online, via a form. (Spring softball fields are insanely hard to come by and require a draft.) ST Morrison Park is a great option for softball practice, a birthday party or just a trip to the park!

Field of Dreams was my birthday gift to myself, and it was worth every mile getting there!…read more We drove nearly six hours from Kansas City to Dyersville specifically so I could finally visit this place. I first saw Field of Dreams in 1989, and the movie has stayed with me ever since. When we arrived, we were asked if we'd consider donating $20 toward the upkeep of the field. I couldn't get the money out of my pocket fast enough. Keeping a place like this available for people to experience is absolutely worth supporting. Seeing the farmhouse, wooden bleachers and baseball diamond surrounded by Iowa corn was almost surreal. The best part is that you're not just standing behind a rope looking at everything. I walked onto the field, through the outfield grass, into the corn and then back out again. I sat in the bleachers with our dog Gus and even got to hold a bat and imagine standing at the plate. For me, there was also a very personal connection. I never got to play catch with my father, which is probably one reason the ending of this movie has always affected me so deeply. Standing on that field brought back emotions I wasn't expecting. For a little while, I wasn't thinking about being 68 years old. I was thinking about being that kid who loved baseball and wondering, "What if?" We unfortunately missed the farmhouse tour by just a few minutes. The next tour was an hour later, and with another three-hour drive to Des Moines ahead of us, we couldn't wait. That's my only regret from the visit, and certainly not the Field of Dreams' fault. There is also a nice visitor area with memorabilia, displays and souvenirs. Baseball and movie fans will find plenty to look at. My advice: don't rush this place. Walk onto the field. Sit in the bleachers. Walk into the corn. Take your pictures, but put the phone away for a few minutes too and just look around. Way out in the middle of Iowa sits a baseball field made famous by a movie more than three decades ago. For some people, it will simply be a cool movie location. For me, it was something much more. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday gift to myself. Absolutely worth the trip.

While roadtripping across the United States, I knew I wanted to add this to our list of places to stop. We were not disappointed! It's a lovely drive amongst the cornfields to get to the site. We came on a Tuesday in August and it wasn't crowded at all. Plenty of parking. $20 suggested donation to enter. They provide bats and balls and gloves and anyone can go out on the field for a catch or to bat, or run the bases. Lots of families around playing on the field. They even had a "ghost player" dressed in a 1919 era uniform to pose for pictures. You can take a tour of the farm house for an added price, though we didn't do this part. They have a snack stand next to the field and a full restaurant next to the farm house if you get hungry, both of which serve alcohol. I guess the only downside is how wildly commercialized the whole site has become. A gigantic gift shop, the aforementioned restaurant, and an indoor event space all overshadow the much smaller farm house, and the massive stadium built for MLB's annual game looms over the left field fence. But the magic is still there. The magic of the most perfect baseball movie ever made, transposed into the modern era in the form of families spending time together in a heaven made of sunny Iowa cornfields.

Like I say, good bones but needs some improvements. I have recommended the North Dodge Club to a lot of my colleagues and family.

The price, at least for a day pass, was definitely worth the stop. Plenty of classes offered... massage therapy offered, and great staff overall. If I ever find myself doing another cross-country trip again, I'll probably stop by here again. If you're local however, goodness... just check out the place if you haven't already!
