Joined for lap swimming. When pool is open, it's usually almost perfect. BUT (and this is a big…read more"BUT") management of the pool schedule is bad. Hours for lap swim posted on their website are usually not correct as pool is not open when hours posted say it is. Was told by front desk people their website is not accurate and I should only use their new 'app' to check hours. So I loaded app and have used that to check pool lap swim hours. Tried to swim on weekday last week. Checked app 2 hours prior and said lap swim open 1:00-5:00 pm. Arrived at 2:10, changed and got to pool deck at 2:15 only to be told "We are closing for 30 minutes from 2:30 to 3:00 today." Today, a Sunday, at 9:00 a.m. app says pool open for lap swim from 10:00-1:00 pm. Arrived at 11:00 only to find out pool is closed due to swim team practice. they are "very sorry" for my inconvenience. This has happened 4 or 5 times in past month. Frustrating to plan my day/week, drive to the YMCA, and show up only to find out pool is not available. Seems like this is happening more and more often in past 5-6 weeks. If only we could know when pool will be available for lap swim. Seems like this should not be that hard to do. Put someone in charge of schedule and posting updates. And, once hours posted, stick to that schedule.

Triple Play Park is probably one of the best youth ball field complexes in the Iowa City/ Cedar…read moreRapids area. Period. End of story. I played here as a kid and they really have made some great changes to the original four fields since! (I believe these were made around 2020- when the CR Reds baseball/softball organization took over this site.) The infields were completely redone and the back-stops were replaced with a 30' tall netting. There are new dugouts and the concession area was updated. Finally (while I think they should have added stalls) the restrooms are updated and clean. There's a playground area for the kids as well as batting cages. But the most impressive thing about Triple Play Park is the addition of Dinger Plaza. My 10U team played here this past weekend and what a nice field. It rained cats and dogs the night before, but you'd have never known that. These two new fields are geared toward younger teams and I think they're a great size-- home runs are possible for a ten year old which is crazy. (My only qualm is how close the backstop is to home.) There's plenty of parking. It's continently across the street from Casey's and down the street from Edith Lucielle's Bait Shack & Wing Depot. I like playing closer to home but if I need to make the drive to CR-- I hope it's to Triple Play Park!

This field is top notch, by the way. :) Moving on is the concession stand and restrooms. Restrooms are small and have 2 stalls, but clean. There are several youth baseball and softball fields. The fields are well kept. Most of the fields have bleachers, however we typically bring our own chairs. Directly behind the baseball/softball fields are the youth soccer and football fields. Bring your own chairs for soccer and football games. Although there is a LARGE parking area, parking can be tight and/or non existent when all of the youth sports are happening. SRNA also has a tennis court, basketball hoops, and sand volleyball. The final building is the Timber Dome Lodge, which deserves it's own review. The Lake Macbride Trail starts here, which is a beautiful 5 mile trail into Lake Macbride State Park. Around the entire complex is a walking or biking trail. There are a couple of ponds used for wildlife conservation. The City of Solon does a great job of maintaining this area!

I believe they are still the cheapest to bowl in the area and not only that but drinks and food are pretty cheap too!! This is such a great place to bring friends and family!

This bowling alley in Cedar Rapids is very fun to go to. They have light-up bowling after 9pm with…read moremusic which is very awesome. My 13yr old daughter loves this bowling alley also. About every other time I go bowling at this bowling alley, my bowling lane tv screen (which counts points) messes up, but the people working always get it fixed fairly quickly. Good variety of ball sizes to choose from to bowl with. Food selection is good as well. There is a large selection of traditional bowling alley fried foods (fried cheese curds, fried pickles, fried mozzarella cheese sticks, etc...). This bowling alley is adjacent to the sand volleyball courts, which are fun to watch or participate in as well. The Cedar Rapids Sports/Social Club hosts a lot of summer and winter events (including bowling). At this bowling alley, I usually get a pitcher of Big Grove's Arms Race craft beer to drink with friends as we bowl. The atmosphere is classically sophisticated with an air of the 80s. Great Bowling Alley!

This review is for Lowe Park's diamonds (different than the Pee Wee Diamonds, also located at the…read morepark). We were in town for a 10U softball tournament and left with a third place finish. #GoJaguars. Things I liked: - Diamonds. The park boasts four softball diamonds that are well maintained. - Concession Stand. Gotta love a well stocked, well priced and shaded concession stand! - Proximity to Uptown Marion. Gotta love a quick five minute drive to grab some food! Things I didn't like: - Holy Parking, Batman. You basically need to park at the adjacent middle school or high school parking lots on tournament days. It's a lot of walking so make sure you're getting there early! - The Shade Situation. Uh, what shade? There are some trees planted that in ten years will be amazing but as of now, expect it to be a hot one at Lowe Park. Overall, the Marion community is lucky to have Lowe Park. It boasts some rad looking trails, an amphitheater, arts + environment center, community gardens, sculpture trail, an inclusive play structure and some pretty well done ballparks, IMO. I definitely wouldn't be mad if we played here again!

Tucked behind Casey's General Store lives this cute little park…read more It boasts a basketball court, plethora of slides, swings, spring riders, a shelter with a grill and other kiddo climbing thingamajigs. We stopped over, after my son saw it from afar. It has newer equipment, is in a good (semi-secluded) location with plenty of parking. Potter Park is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area with littles!
