The list of issues with this doctors office is too long to list. They provide incorrect information to nursing mothers and have to be corrected by lactation consultants, their office staff have really bad attitudes and tones, and their office staff will not let you speak and talk circles until they hang up on you. The worst thing about this doctor's office is in their billing and coding by far. The cost to the patient is the highest in town and they will double bill you if you have both children seen at the same time. For example if your visit is 30 minutes they will say one kid is 20 minutes and another is 30 minutes. I recommend you use any other pediatric doctor in town other than this office read more

We have been going here for our children since my Daughter was born almost 7 years ago. We've seen various doctors when we've needed to be seen immediately but our general care has always been with Dr. Strong. She is passionate, cares deeply about her patients and is very thorough in her exams and explanations. She has never made me feel like a question is dumb or silly and backs up her answers with experience and medical knowledge. We absolutely love her and the whole staff at BH Peds! read more

Some good some bad the people that saw my baby at first were nice and good and let us ask questions and we get baby shots and the tech was nice and she was also comforting i like her and the other but the big dog doctor kicked us out when we were told we could breast feed. I even said is it okay if we breast feed because it takes awhile and she said okay a d the. They came and kicked us out like we were a muddy dog and they didnt want us there anymore. Sad. read more

Black Hills Pediatrics has always had where the front desk staff that are grouchy, never friendly and act like they hate their job. I hate to call the place knowing how I will be treat. Health care facilities should always have nice friendly faces at the front desk as they're the one setting the stage for the whole practice. read more

Absolutely horrible!! Especially Dr. Strong. She kicks you out of the clinic if you disagree with her diagnosis or recommendations. As a parent, aren't you supposed to advocate for your child?? Thanks to her ignorant and cocky attitude, we now have the best doctor for our whole family. Just sad that she has to be this way...Especially when she was questioning what another Dr in the clinic referred my daughter to the hospital for. Sad. read more

Came here for a visit with my daughter while visiting a friend that lives in this town. It was 15 minutes of advise that cost me 485$!! No medicine, just a question. I tried to fight it, they said their time and advice is money. Ridiculous! read more

We chose to come to this clinic based on word of mouth. I had heard good things and am brand new to South Dakota. We took my three month old and had a great experience with Brittany Reiman and all other providers (nurse aides or techs). They're all so kind to our babe. But we are displeased with our experience with Dr. Kuehler. She was very eager to spend as little time as possible with us and didn't seem to want to dwell on our questions. We're first time parents and of course would love to learn more about what our babe should be doing or other questions answered better. We also gave our babe his first shots, and the tech was sweet enough to let us comfort him afterwards by breastfeeding, but Dr. Kuehler kicked us out after five minutes due to her having to leave. The clinic did not close for a few more hours, and we were not offered another place to breastfeed, so now we are in our hot vehicle breastfeeding our baby after he received his first shots. Such a shame we were rushed in ythe visit and kicked out. I would think it would be easy to provide better care. read more

This is not an urgent care clinic despite what their website and sign outside the building say! We were visiting from out of town and my son fell and needed stitches. Tried finding an urgent care through my insurance company's website, but it wasn't working properly and I couldn't get through on their telephone number. So, I did a quick google search and found this place. Called to verify that they were and urgent care facility, was told yes and they had me make an appointment, which I thought was weird, but went ahead anyway. Got there and found out that I will have to pay upfront since I was from out of town and a first time visitor. I didn't think this was right since for an urgent care place, so I called my insurance, finally got through, and was told that urgent care facilities can not charge upfront. The insurance person talked to their billing and found out there were not an actual urgent care facility, just a regular doctors office that will see patients same day, which I thought every doctors office did without labeling themselves as urgent care facilities. Even with talking to my insurance company and being told that I was, in fact, covered, I still had to pay upfront. The doctor and nurse were great, it was just the billing office and the fact that they are advertising the office as an urgent care facility, when they are not. read more

While the care here has been mostly acceptable (you just have to be sure to insist upon seeing an actual doctor and not the multiple mid-level practitioners who work here), their business office practices are so terrible that it's more a pain than a benefit to seek care here. This office will mail statements and letters saying that you have a balance with them, but they refuse to mail, fax, or email a detailed listing of account activity showing all charges and payments. If you want that, your only choice is to drive in from wherever you live, and pick it up in person. For those who live out of town (or out of state), this is a REAL hardship. They don't care. It's their "office policy". When you are trying to research an account because the practice has made errors in posting payments, and because they are sending bills for amounts that have already been paid in full, it's impossible to do proper research without such a listing. Obviously, they don't care if they messed up. If they don't send the information needed to perform a proper audit, they just get to keep tacking on "finance charges". Shame on you, Black Hills Pediatrics. read more

If tou have a general question regarding your childs health, don't waste your time calling. Instead go there in person. At least you'll be abe to be seen and not swept under the rug. I was on hold for 27 minutes. Out of respect for their time, I figured a phone call would have been better. I was wrong...if you have a general question that takes 10 seconds to answer, you'd be better off to flood the waiting room and get your question answered. At least they cant sweep you under the rug that way. Poor receptionist skills. A good receptionist ALWAYS gets back to their callers. read more

I have been taking all three of my kids to this clinic since birth(oldest is 9) and have NEVER had a bad experience. The nursing staff and provider have all been friendly and attentive with the needs of me and my children. Dr. Whitney's nurse has always gone above and beyond to make sure that me and my kids get the care we (yes, moms need care too) deserve. Even going as far as helping me out to my car with car seats when the load is just too much and kids are having melt downs!! I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

Dr Strong and her nurse assisted us through many challenges and concerns we had for our daughter. They are extremely knowledgable and accommodating. They speak to you in terms you understand and are honest people. My daughter was having seizures and they found a way to help and comfort us & went above & beyond to help get us through this.
