I have been to Same Day Surgery Center twice now, and both times I have a very negative experience…read more The 1st time, I had a hysterectomy and was made to walk to the surgery room which felt odd. I had trouble with the anesthesia and attribute that to West River anesthesiologists...see that review. I had to stay overnight and was on oxygen. Their overnight rooms are like vaults. The door is heavy and always closed. No one bothered to put tissue or the tv remote or anything else on my bedside stand, and when I called for the nurses to help me get to the bathroom, they seemed a bit put out. I would ask them to leave the light on, and sometimes they did and sometimes not. I was so out of it and focused on going to the bathroom, I would forget to ask for tissue and the tv remote. No one bothered to explain anything or even seemed to care. I broke out in a bumpy rash all over my stomach and back from who knows what and had to have medication to clear it up. The absolute nicest thing anyone did during that stay was to offer me some coffee next morning. My 2nd experience was worse. I went in for ocular plastic surgery, non-cosmetic, and the waiting room consists of a plastic chair. No warm blankets or anything comforting. The 1st nurse told me they inject lidocaine before the IV because it helps with pain. NO, it doesn't. It hurts! She blew my veins and was chatting while the hematoma on my hand grew. She took her time putting pressure on it and my entire hand was bruised for quite awhile. She brought in another nurse to try the other hand. I told her to skip the lidocaine, but she told me that's what they do and proceeded to inject it which is 2 jabs and it hurt and I flinched and she told me to HOLD STILL. SHE blew the veins on that hand as well and no one has ever blown my veins inserting an IV, and they did it with the lidocaine, so the IV had to go in my arm, and then I was told the docs don't like it there. They gave me meds pre surgery for nausea which didn't work. I almost didn't make it out of the anesthetic and was very ill. At one point, I started crying and a nurse said, 'Why are you crying?' in a rather chippy way. As a retired nurse, I found that highly innappropriate. My husband had to pull her aside and tell her that I was out of it way bad. They wanted to keep me for several days, but NO WAY. Had an O2 concentrator at home and a pulse oximeter to monitor my oxygen levels. Took 2 days to come out of anesthesia and couldn't take my pain meds during that time, and I needed them. Will never ever go back to that place. EVER.

Having been VERY sick after my last surgery there, I was ambivilent about using them again. This time, they gave me meds to counteract any nausea before surgery, and I explained to Joseph that I had a negative experience with the last anesthesia I was given there. Mind you, I do not have this experience in hospitals with anesthesia. Well, this time, I had a lot of trouble even coming out of the anesthesia. They gave me narcan to take down the effects of morphine given, but it did no good. My oxygen levels were very low, and they wanted me to stay there for a couple of days, but we did have an O2 concentrator at home and a pulse oximeter to check my oxygen levels. I wanted OUT of that place. I hurled my food after eating when I got home and was sick to my stomach for days. It took 2 full days before my oxygen levels were normal, so I didn't feel comfortable taking my pain meds, and I desperately needed them. I was miserable and will not go anywhere that uses West River anesthesiology. I had them at Same Day Surgery when having a hysterectomy and got very ill after surgery. They kept me overnight and I was restless and broke out in bumps all over my stomach and back. I was on oxygen throughout the night. I am absolutely terrified to ever use any of their anesthesiologists again after 2 very negative experiences. I don't trust them.

The doctor I saw is very good, however the prices for services are absolutely ridiculous. 2 visits…read morefor nerve block injections which take no longer than 30mins, usually 15 minutes, costs $699.80 according to my last bill. My advice is to start asking providers what they charge and if they don't share, go somewhere else. Will be finding somewhere else myself.

Blood tests, Xrays and scans later, I was given a prescription for non-narcotic muscle relaxers and sent home. Two days later, I went to see Dr Clinch. After listening to my circumstance to include my pointing and demonstrations, he explained what he believed was happening with my ligatures. Then he laid me out, applied some pressure here and there, and suggested a couple of exercises. Follow-up appointment was made for three days later. I felt SO MUCH BETTER, I could not believe it. I thought better of dancing into his office just in case I might trip.He asked, "On a scale of 1 to 100, how does it feel?" I said; "80%, it is almost normal" He asked "Are you sure?" I just smiled and demonstrated my movements which were extremely different than my previous visit. He smiled! IF you have a stiffness, a mobility, or a joint problem, THIS is the man to see. He has ha gift and a knowledge beyond the many chiropractors I've visited over the years (I'm 64 BTW, retired veteran who had a very physically intense mission for years). Thanks Dr. Clinch!
