Hannas as well as being a very well stocked and organised bookshop, also supplies Libraries and this branch is well knowing to school kids and frustrated parents alike as the main place to go for next years textbooks. I then noticed a particular game which have been mulling over buying, Pandemic Legacy. Here they are selling it for 85 EUR. In a gaming shop around the corner it's 69 EUR. An Irish based gaming website is selling it for 60 EUR. It's madness pricing like this. If Gamers World wasn't around the corner and Sub City was priced more in line with online prices, I would shop here. Spend a little bit more to shop local. But 25 EUR more? Go way outta that. Needless to say Sub City was empty and Gamers World was jammers. It's presented well inside.

(From a kid's perspective) the buildings were towering goliaths filled from floor to ceiling with toys, books, games and bikes. I thought every adult had to be an idiot for not wanting to work here. I now cannot think of a worse place to work. Screaming toddlers runing around in danger of scraping knees and bumping foreheads while mothers argue with their mothers about who's buying their little precious a Ben 10 wristwatch. That being said, Smyths is still one of the best toy shops in the country. They have an enormous amount of stock and their customer service is great. Not only that, they also have a 'software zone' which is pretty good for computer games and consoles. I do sometimes go into the Smyths back home for a bit of a nostalgic time wasting. Just not at Christmas. NEVER at Christmas.

It is the number one shop for parents in the run up to Christmas. Anything featured on the Late Late Toyshow can usually be found here. They also have an expanding computer games section, that stocks every popular game for all the popular consoles and PCs. There's a useful facility on their website whereby you can check the stock in store before you go to shop, so there will never be a wasted trip.

I get the feeling that he's hand picked most of the stock in here, a great thing to think given the high quality of the models and accessories on the shelves. Perhaps as a concession to those shoppers not passionate about car bodies and propeller blades, there is a small corner dedicated to doll housery (though The Doll Shop on George's street seems to have that covered).
