Deer don't shoot.

Decent clean , windy range. I asked about this the other archers said this is the worst they have ever seen it, I guess but , once I got to the back 14 targets, in the hills and trees not bad at all. Some of the targets tended to off The bales. So some of the time was spent placing targets back on bales. I did see a four and six point bucks. I just moved on and was rewarded by having a good shoot. The first 14 on the walking range tended to be flat and well maintained. Overall a good, 11/2/2019 little irritating when know it all people come up to you and tell you rules of the range. Especially when they can't explain why they have the rule. Love messing with people . But if you cannot explain why you have a rule. Don't try and enforce it. Still like the range

Black Mountain Bowmen is a free outdoor range that offers not only target practice at various distances but also an "archery course" (similar to a golf course) where you shoot at various targets situated in different parts of the range. I've been going here occasionally when I want to shoot outdoors (as opposed to an indoor range) and it's great to have the option to practice at farther distances. Indoor ranges are a bit limited in the sense of what distances are possible to practice with. One thing that you'll find at this range is that there are a lot of compound shooters who will be practicing at the longest ranges--that's only natural. One feedback I do have for the range is that the targets could be replaced more often. Note the photo I've added here--it was a bit difficult to practice precision since the inner circle was completely gone. All that said, I see myself coming back here in the future!

In the target lanes. There are various distances to shoot from!

This place has been my primary location for shooting archery over the years and the vibe has always been amazing. This location has a large target range for those who enjoy shooting in the same lane; as well as a 28 target course along a trail (similar to shooting golf). The targets are frequently replaced and they grass is always cut making it easier to locate and retrieve stray arrows. I'd recommend this place to any aspiring archers!

Is the only great place to practice and enjoy archery in the South Bay. I just started few months ago and I've been going there almost daily!

Huge dip with metal pole and rock sticking out that catches onto the bottom of cars

This place needs to fix their grounds. I just had $1000 worth of damage to my car because of how unkept their entrance is. I was going slowly and carefully and the bottom of my car still managed to get it ripped off, management needs to do something about this.

It's hard to find a place to shoot some arrows while letting my hair fly through the wind but this is the place. My friend frequents here often and so he took me here once and it was great. There isn't any fee and you just have to bring your own equipment. Other archers here are super friendly and love to talk about archery events with you. Pleasant experience and worth the drive.

This archery range is so tucked away that I bet you didn't even know it was there. When you arrive, there is a full practice range with ten targets ranging from twenty to seventy feet away. Paper targets are on the hay bales, but I suggest bringing your own, as these are sometimes chewed up. Beyond the range there is a trail with a large number of shooting areas, all at different distances. It is a nice trail that is not overly strenuous. Just remember, hunting is NOT allowed, even though you will see lots of wildlife...

Nice place to shoot arrows for all ages!!!!

Love this place for shooting arrows. There are different targets for shooting. Not too crowded and it is free.

A beautiful day to appreciate this awesome range!

I like this range and plan to come back. Plenty of random distance targets. You'll see everything from recurves to compound bows.

What is the shortest distance available on the range?

For beginners, several 10 yard targets, and some seemingly closer.

How much is the lesson?

This is a club and public range. They periodically will not be open to the public for events. They don't rent equipment or have lessons. You would need to arrange that privately and bring the equipment and instructor with you. I'd recommend just…

What truly stood out to me was how warm and attentive the coaches were. From the moment I arrived, they made sure I felt comfortable, guided me patiently through the basics, and offered thoughtful tips that actually helped improve my form. One of the Coaches was so funny , I enjoyed my interaction while hitting the bull's eye. It didn't feel rushed or transactional at all-instead, it felt like they genuinely cared about making the experience enjoyable and meaningful. One small but incredibly kind gesture that really stuck with me was that they let me continue practicing for a few extra minutes beyond my session. That level of thoughtfulness and flexibility made the whole experience feel even more special. Whether you're a complete beginner or just looking to try something new, I'd highly recommend this place. They do cash trade-ins day-of-sale unlike most gun shops in the area that only do consignment. They take the time to properly appraise what you bring in, make sure it's legal for sale in California and make sure all the required paperwork is filled out properly. Their prices are generally fair market value from what I've seen considering it's a cash-day-of trade-in. You'll be waiting for maybe an hour at most here to get paid for selling your stuff instead of the weeks that you would with a consignment sale or what passes for a private-party transaction in CA. Could you potentially get more selling privately or putting your stuff on consignment and waiting for it to move instead? Maybe, but their way of doing things avoids a lot of the multiple trips and waiting time that comes with doing either of those other two options instead in California. I would definitely recommend coming here if you have guns you need to sell urgently or if you would just rather not deal with selling on consignment or arranging a private-party sale yourself.
