I was happy with this place for almost the last year I have been coming, but felt that the last few times were less than perfect.... Even made it a habit to give a 40% tip each time to show my gratitude and appreciation, and to be flexible to have any of the stylists cut my hair. Well...in the end, this did not help and I will now go to a different barber shop. All that I can recommend for this shop is to improve training for new stylists, lots of practice and to hire more staff. This place is great. I was referred here so that i could get a shave since I had surgery on my shoulder and could not shave. The gentleman that did my hair and shave was great. Decided to try out this new barbershop in Glendora area. Tell you there truth, there are many barbers in Glendora and Azusa area to choose from but Black Rose has the most reasonable price among other barbers. Started by booking appointment with Anthony for the zero taper haircut. Drove to the shop a couple days after, and it was pretty small and new shop( 4 barbers and they open up the shop in 2020). Anthony was pretty cool as far getting detail on the type of haircut I schedule, he even pulled GOOGLE and ask me which type of taper I want. Overall haircut was about 45-50mnts, and I was very impressed on Anthony attention to detail. At the end he did the final touch up by applying hair gel to put the icing on the cake. Erica has been cutting my son's hair since he was 11 months old, and he's now almost 4. In the years Erica has been my son's barber, we found he is autistic. Haircuts became a little challenging for him due to his sensory processing, however Erica has always been so patient and kind as we worked together to make haircuts more comfortable for him. Aside from her working so well with an autistic person, she gives excellent haircuts to all her clients! Got my cut from Rosie and she was very attentive. She began the session with questions on exactly how I wanted my hair and She was able to advise me on how a low fade vs a higher fade might look. This shop is apparently under a new ownership and was formerly GLENDORA BARBERSHOP. The other people at this place seem welcoming and professional and is a clean place. Moved to Glendora about a month ago from Upland. Wanted to try this place out since I don't have a local barber yet. Never made it inside. It was about 5pm, 2 hours before they closed, stood at the door and asked if they were open for walk ins their reply to me was talking amongst themselves for a quick minute. I'm guessing who wanted to take me or not. I finally said, nevermind and walked away. I'm thinking to myself if the shop is closing early, then just say that.
