Hands down my worst tattoo and it came out of black sparrow. I got this about a month ago and I was very upset so I went to another artist FRANCISCO in the shop he assured me he could fix. I was impressed with previous work he had done and I was eager to get blasted. I dropped 6,000 CASH!!! Was told I would get my legs finish and that tattoo fixed. Prior to the commitment I made him aware I work construction and my schedule constantly changes hour very etc. needless to say I had to cancel and appointment a couple times with a very generous noticed. He basically told me to figure it out and it's going to be 1200 either way. The conversation got heated and I wanted to be cashed out and iv been ghosted. My son just came home from a Marine deployment of 9 months on a ship. He had a special tattoo in mind and we had tried several ships that were too busy. Thankfully he met Lou a couple days before and scheduled a session for today. Lou even called him earlier in the day to confirm a couple things about the art. We got there for the appointment and Lou is nothing but the most professional and nicest tattoo artist I've ever met. You see the level of commitment to his art and how much thought he puts into his skill. He spent almost four hours and added quite a bit of his creativity which knocked this tattoo out of the park. He walked me through everything he was doing, was very easy going and relaxed, and made me feel at ease despite my fear of needles. I actually had to ask him to stop because I was getting queasy but he gave me water and a fruit cup and explained it was normal and nothing to be embarrassed about. Found Alex Fiore on IG and followed her steps on contacting her to book an appointment. Sent a really nice email complimenting her work and telling her I was interested in getting matching tattoos with my sister. Sent specific instructions on what we wanted, where we wanted them and even included some pics for reference. Told her we wanted them in red Ink. However I hadn't received a response back for 4 days so I checked out her IG only to see that see posted on her story that she's "not interested in red ink tattoos". I have no issue with that (would have been great for her to have specified that in her instructions) but felt snubbed because she took the time to post that to her IG but couldn't respond back to the email I sent. Her work looks great as displayed on IG but her professionalism towards appointments and booking is severely lacking. read more

I won a piece from their last Friday the 13th contest! Woohoo! Totally great experience both times. I got a small black rose from Alex, and a cool skull with roses by Gio. Despite being free tattoo, Gio was willing to work with me and redraw my tattoo several times. He was super nice and the whole experience was great, the tattoo ended up being super sick! I met tattoo artist Stix through a friend and really liked his work. Black Sparrow is a few blocks from another friend's house, so I set up an appointment with Stix for my friend and I. Love this place SO MUCH!! The guys there are all super cool and funny, it's a very inviting place, super clean with an edgy vibe, and feels like family each time I go back. Ask for STIX! He does absolutely amazing work efficiently and the prices are amazing! Honestly STIX is just an all around solid, nice dude! Very light hands and gets the job done better than expected. He finished up and existing tribal piece for me adding a pretty large section in and repairing some of the spots that were damaged over the years. My friend and I went in for Friday the 13th tattoos and had Marco (IG- the real vanilla gorilla tattoo) as our artist. It was my friends first tattoo so of course she was a little nervous but that changed fast. Instantly marco made her feel so comfortable and helped her out so much when she was struggling through the tattoo. My husband and I both have also gotten work done by Marco in the past and all I gotta say is it was a 10/10 experience every time I have been in. He makes sure you're comfortable and makes the experience one you won't forget. All you'll do is laugh while you're in there. Lou at this shop gave me a thigh tattoo. He told me that if I needed to come back for a touch up it would be no cost, "I got you." I then let my tattoo heal for little over a month. I hit Lou back up to touch my tattoo up. I hit him up and I would not get a response for days. Then one week he hit me back up. I asked him if he can touch up the tattoo he gave me. He always gave an excuse, "sorry man I was moving." A month goes by and still no response or date set to touch up the $400 tattoo I got from him. Ide recommend going to someone else at this shop. I heard very good things about the other artist. My tattoo to this day is still not fully shaded and lines are faded. Pretty disappointed at this guy! Just wanted to share.
