This was my second time visiting. When you walk in you get an immediate whiff of fragrance. In the back room of the house is the most amazing body care and home fragrance line of candles, bath soaks and soaps that ALL smell soooo good. They are all local, natural and made on site. But before you make your way to those goodies you are enthralled into Christmas themed decor and fully elaborately decorated trees with rooms filled with decor and ornaments that you can't help but feel the Christmas spirit. Very reasonably priced. I always buy a few goodies for myself and the house but it's also a gifters dream. Great service, as they offered to cut my soap for me so it would last longer and put it in a cute little bag. This is only 30 minutes south of south Austin and I can literally spend the entire day in this part of town visiting all the shops. read more

What an interesting and whimsical place this is! There are quite a few antique shops in this shopping area, but what caught my eye initially was the giant wind chimes hung outside. My actual thoughts were "Who make giant wind chimes for trees nowadays?" and "How do I go about procuring one for myself?". Long story short, I was blown away by the variety of things Black Swan offered. Among antique items like furniture and household objects they also have other things, such as handmade potpourri, bar soaps, bath bombs, bath salts, and, of course, wind chimes of varying sizes and jingles. The store is like a wonderland maze because there is something different at very corner and every turn of the store. They even have a giant wardrobe that looks like it came out of a C.S. Lewis book. I didn't buy anything because I was overwhelmed by how many things to buy. The staff was very friendly and answered all the questions. Some of the items seemed very pricey, probably because they're antiques, but even the potpourri and soaps were around 10 dollars per pound. If you're ever in the Gruene Historic District and you love oddities then you really need to stop by. read more

I'm not one that writes reviews. If I like it, I go back. If i do not, I just do not go back. I was taught, if you can't say something good, then say nothing at all. WOW! Love this place. The best part is the beginning and the end. Beginning was excilent welcoming. The ending was the lady named Carol. I feel as if I gained more then a beautiful antique from here. I gained a new friend. If you want to sell anything in your store, you must have a people person representing your things. I went in just to browse. Typical antique store and prices seemed reasonable. Didn't find anything we needed or wanted but if antiques are your thing go check it out.

Very cool antique shop, lots of high end stuff, cool old bottles in the back for a less expensive find
