Amazing Family Oriented Program!…read more As a military family it can be difficult to find programs and a place to call home for your kids but we found it here. Going here for over a year my kids both love this place and have grown so much. My oldest has done Taekwondo for years but this is an actual program dedicated to growing and developing kids of character: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit. Unlike many programs this is an official and internationally recognized program taught by caring individuals that prioritize growth and standards over false senses of achievement. You have to earn your advancement (belts) every day. It's so amazing to have coaches that teach your children with love but accountability to a standard. The leaders also have a tournament team and truly love what they do because they travel at personal expense to coach our kids. The team also performs qualifying for AAU Nationals and many of them earning 1st Place at their tournaments. In 2023 AAU Nationals, the team won the most medals of any school in South Carolina and has already started planning for next year. So if you are looking to learn locally or compete nationally, this place does it all. Value: You can't beat it with this program meeting 3 days a week for 45 minutes and very reasonably priced after school care/camps when school is out. My kids have taken advantage of both evening classes and the camp program. Other activities in town that meet once a week cost more than the cost for both my kids taking evening class here. You do have to pay for the tests but it covers the new belt, boards they break, and registration with Kukkiwon in South Korea. If you stick it out, learn, and live a life of character, you can earn your black belt from the birthplace of Taekwondo. My son went there 2-3 days a…read moreweek and my son liked it and the days he went to sparring the first time he had told me his stomach hurt a 1 kid had been kicking it harder than he should have and mentioned it to the teacher and seemed fine thought it was resolved. The second time he went to sparring he didn't complain about anything but he is new to it and they were doing things with high leg kicks and I know they probably do stretching but my son had said to the new instructor it was hurting but he told me the instructor did not listen so I had emailed the teacher and told her about it saying he is new to this and know it takes time for high kicks and they should work up to that slowly and not try to force it right away because he had mentioned it hurt and I always tell my son to tell teachers when he is having a problem. Next email I got was this would be his last month there and she would not be putting him on next months roster and to have good luck in finding a new class. My son also took classes in Alaska we are military and have never been treated that way for a new student to just get kicked out for just speaking his mind I wanted others to know plus the classes can be costly and people should be able to talk to the teacher if their kid needs help or to talk. So I'd suggest people go to another martial arts class.

We have dedicated masters who are internationally recognized in the Olympic sport of Taekwondo. We sweep the medals at every competition we attend. Our instructors are caring and knowledgeable, but they are demanding of excellence. Truly, this school is not for everyone. If you don't want to work hard and give your best - it is not for you. If you want to buy a belt for promotion every 3 months it is not for you.
