While taking a prospective buyer on a Texoma Sea Trial, my (overlooked) Impeller took a dive and I had to limp back to the boat trailer. I took the boat to Black Beards and was told that my wait was about 1.5 weeks. My buyer had driven 7 hours to get to Madill from Kansas City. Black Beards was aware of this and wanted to help. Wow, been Blackbeard customer for years, my dad purchased his boat in Tulsa when I was kid and purchased mine there and live in Texas. Always had Kingston location service my boat. Saw they was having issues and was in middle purchase new skeeter when Steve purchased the company and couldn't buy boat due to transactions going on. I had Blackbeard to 300 hour service in Dec, Jan.23-24 time frame cost me 1000.00, I had scheduled to take boat to Kingston on Sat. And stay with it while they complete the 100 hour service, it's a zx250 with a SHO 250. Fun snd sun priced me at 600.00 but I'd have to drop it off and they have it for week or two, luckily Blackbeard Kingston could do it and they always serviced it. With new owner and as I was told top TEC was working on it. I stayed around and was told should be fine by noon, noon came around to check on it and was tolerated went to lunch and be back at 1:00. Ok cool so I waited. 1:30 was pulled out front Dale rings it up and says 1249.00 I was like wait what? In shock, so upset. That's double what other marine dealer charge for 100 hour service. I told Dale he didn't care that was their price I'm like what they do. Had fun and sun on phone which they replied Blackbeard probably charged you for water pump install which is not part of 100 hour service, Dale said they did and fun and sun said it would be 1000.00 if they did that job. So was upset they took it up on themselves to replace water pump install which just had on the 300 hr service and not required on 100 hour service by Yamaha, I was mad. But had to pay it. I go get the boat and notice my grease inserts are dry, Yamaha 100 hour service states they grease the inserts, I walk in tell Dale 1249.00 they suppose to grease the inserts? Oh he didn't do it? I'm like nope, so Dale gets grease gun walks out does it. I drive 2.5-2 hours back home, I look over the engine and noticed two bolts not screwed in all the way or tighten. I was mad! What else this top TEC didn't do? So tighten the bolts to lower unit. Took my kowlin off and noticed they tore the seal and didn't put it back. Also looked like the fuel filter was not changed, the prop nut and Carter pin was not touched cause same way it was before do they didn't check properly seal. My steering blocks was put on wrong. Now I have to get it all rechecked make sure the 100 hour service was done and other bolts was put back and tighten. 1249.00 double what other stores charge you think top TEC would complete the job. I was totally shocked under new ownership this was the quality of work and price I paid. better think twice next time coming here again or buying my next 100,000.00 boat. Should had been 600 750 max for the job. Oh was charged 5 hour labor so I paid the TEC 150.00 fir him to take his hour lunch! Does that seem fair? Anyway. Is what it is. So hope this helps when you think of service work or new boat under new ownership the quality you pay for. I left messages. And will follow up Monday. See the response I get, I paid cash. They should give me 600 back. I'm nervous to ever have them touch my boat again! Glad I ease the bolts. Can you imagine what could had happen on the lake! Finally got a chance to talk to Clint, General manager. Told him everything that had happened, he even saw the pictures, long story short apologized and said we will get better and that's pretty much it. No let me pay you back for water pump kit they was not suppose to charge that's NOT in the 100 hour service. So guess he thinks they are on the right direction. Anyway will not go back there. He even had the gall to tell me if I came back it be better! Lol really?? They for sure don't care and do not stand behind their work. So spread the word please, you want poor quality work and double the charge go see them.!! What's so funny he compared his cost to Florida! And says he believes they are fair. LMAO. Mr. Clint this isn't Florida! This is TEXAS!! Next time it's Fun and Sun for me or for sure someone else! That I promise! Hope you feel the same! Save yourself the headache!! read more

This place is is awful and I would never recommend anyone making a purchase here. This was my second and final transaction with this dealership. In March 2024 I found the boat I had been wanting in stock at this dealership. As it happened I was in luck because just 2 years earlier I purchased my first new fishing boat here. I assumed trading my boat in on the new one would be easy, BUT BOY was I wrong!! The salesman disappeared after he passed me off to finance, never to be seen or spoken to again. Due to lack of communication I drove to OKC to pick up my boat and found out on arrival it was in Irving Texas. When I got to my boat I was pointed to where it was sitting and told I could hook it up and thanks. No help or instruction on the boat or break in or even assistance hooking up. Also 2 months later and still no tags or registration for the boat even though TP&W shows it was done weeks ago. This is an awful place of business IMO! GO ELSEWHERE read more

Buyer Beware!! Kingston location told us they didn't test drive boats (bought a 2016 Sea Ray), and speedometer and depth finder were broken. Also lied to get us to buy a $4500 warranty with a high deductible. Took two trips and 2 weeks to get speedo working, depth finder still broken. If you buy from Blackbeard, BE CAREFUL! Read all contracts and make them give you a test drive (or attest to everything working). read more

Absolutely zero integrity! The owner and manager will avoid your calls. I have boat that was on the water 4 times and it left me stranded 3 of them. They would not even replace a $500 dollar boat cover that was the wrong one. In the end, they stopped answering or returning my calls. We had to get an attorney. read more

Beginning went ok .. took a little bit to get someone to notice me but after that My salesman was very helpful.. picked out the boat I wanted put my money down for the extra cover on the boat they said we'll have it done next week.. sounds great!.. thanks.. week goes by I email asking about my boat 2-3 different times no response.. call 2-3 times no answer .. finally got through and got the paperwork rollin .. Well they had the wrong boat.. luckily the boat I wanted was still available.. no worries.. started paperwork on that one.. turned down the Yamaha extended service plan signed papers and off I was with my new boat.. so excited. Put her in the water and not ten minutes into it water starts coming up under the seats.. what the heck.. I jump in the water look under the boat the metal flashing was installed incorrectly and had ripped both sides all the way back(pictures or it didn't happen). Take it to the dealer .. we'll that's strange .. sorry.. we'll order the part I'll call you later and let you know what we find out how long it's gonna take.. a day goes by no call so I call and they ask for my name and number so they can figure out what's going on with it.. another day goes by I call back .. oh it's you.. I was just about to call you .. your part has been ordered but looks like it won't ship for another 3 days.. i said ok that sucks thinkin to myself surely they'll have it overnighted for all my troubles.. call back a few days later and it still hasn't shown up.. well it's been over a week and still have no idea what's goin on or if I'm gonna have my brand new boat for my daughter's birthday in 3 days.. on the upside I got my thank you note from Yamaha for signing up for the Yamaha extended service plan I never wanted .. yay! PS I don't normally do this sort of thing but I've been to the dealership 3-4 times and live 2 hours away from it and it's done nothing.. except frustrate me more and maybe I'm wrong for expecting better things but if I mess up in my business whether it's my fault or not I go way above and beyond to make it up for my customers read more

Never give A dollar to Blackbeard. I dealt with nothing but frustration and lies For 6 months while waiting on a boat. I understand the COVID delays. What is completely unacceptable is chasing these guys for hours for any information. Everything I was told was also untrue. There is zero Integrity here. I finally got the mistake (boat). It's never been on the water because Blackbeard has NOT mailed my registration. It took a text message, 2 voicemails and and email to get that ridiculous information. This place should not exist. We just purchased a brand new boat from Blackbeard Marine. I had my financing before I arrived. I picked out the boat I wanted. While waiting, and paying for my new boat, I asked everyone involved to have my boat lake ready when I came back to pick it up. Not only was my boat not lake ready, but nothing worked correctly. No one would come out to the lake to help. They had my boat for 2 weeks, I'm still waiting on accessories. I paid for 10 rod holders, had the ones I wanted in my hands, showed my salesman...got some piece of crap plastic things. My trolling motor was supposed to come with a remote, it did not. They haven made it right yet. I would never buy another boat from this company, ever!! They lied, and lied, they didn't give me good service, and I bought a $50,000 boat. We purchased a 2018 Aspen Trail 2790BHS in June of this year. The refrigerator/freezer would not maintain the temperatures recommended for refrigerators and freezers. As the outside temperature would rise, so would the temperature in the refrigerator. The air conditioner also did not cool well. We returned the camper to Blackbeard twice and were told there was nothing wrong with the A/C or refrigerator. We took our camper to a different reputable authorized dealer. They removed the roof vent for the refrigerator and found insulation stuffed on the top of the cooling unit fans. They removed the insulation and reinstalled the roof vent. The refrigerator is now working perfectly. They ran the AC for 15 minutes and noticed condensation buildup, removed filter and found baffle not secured against AC letting cold air mix with return air. They removed the control box, secured and sealed the baffle with foil tape, glued foam back to baffle, reinstalled board and tested unit. AC works great now! The bedroom door was missing parts and would not close and open properly - also repaired. Needless to say if we every purchase another camper it will not be from Blackbeard Marine read more

Shortened version for Google: On May 14 purchased 2010 Tige RZ4 from Blackbeard marine in Kingston. was told the boat was lake ready meaning fully serviced. Upon test drive the ballast system& stereo system did not work, something was going on with the tower and computer system. Management agreed to get these things fixed at their expense. So we signed finance documents knowing the agreement they had made with us. End of June still had not received finance paperwork. Called the bank they didn't have any record of us,called black beard again. Finance department said they could not find the title to the boat. Told I would get a call back, 3 wks went by, no call. July still no paperwork. Call again. Still no title. Few days go by still no call back. We reach out to our salesman,he said he would get it resolved, next morning they find the title. I told them at this time we had barely got to use the boat because we were facing issues with a loud clank noise by the motor and shifting issues from forward to reverse. It was also having trouble starting. Black beards F&I guy agreed to fix these issues since we had been through the run around and having to redo all paperwork. Signed redone paperwork on 7/20. boat did not go out again until August 8. Tried to unload the boat off the trailer, had a hard time starting then would not go into reverse. We dropped the boat off on August 10,they said they would get right on it. Called August 14,did not receive a call back. Called August 17 and  they didn't see anything in the system for it. Told I would get a call back,Again no call back. Call August 20,told  someone would call me back. Got a call back that afternoon from the service department who was extremely rude. Said they had just received the RO and before they could even look at the boat I would have to agree to a 2 hour diagnostic time of $226 . I said this was an issue that was supposed to have been addressed before and we should not be responsible for the diagnostic. He told me I would have to take that up with management. August 21 went in to speak to the general manager.He let us know that there have had a lot of issues going on and he would address it. He would cover the diagnostic time and help us get this resolved after all of the issues we had faced along the way. He also let us know that he had only been there 7 weeks as he was brought in to fix a bad situation. He also told us that he knew of multiple boats that they sold never went through the shop nor PDI'd. He agreed if it was multiple issues not worth our time he would be glad to trade us out of the boat or buy it back. August 25 the GM calls me says the transmission is out in the boat. Said he would be glad to help w/costs as it was going to cost 4-5k. I was given an est to fix the boat with a refurbished transmission, FULL service/maintenance and 25 hours of labor total cost of $5750. Ask why a full service, the GM said "well we don't know the service interval of the boat". WAIT we were told it would have a full service before purchase?also told it would take 2-3 months for the repairs. Told by the GM since you guys are experienced boat owners you could just drive it without a reverse to use for it the rest of the summer. Multiple emails back and forth with the new GM trying to get a resolution. Told him August 29 we would just be picking up the boat. I asked the GM to give my DAD copies of my paperwork. They did not. I just got them 9/1! At time of pickup we noticed 2 of our stereo speakers were taken out and missing. We found the speakers under the hull. They had no explanation for this. Asked for service records, none found. Filters were rusted and looked like they had never been changed. We assumed and never checked them at pickup as we took the word of the dealership it was lake ready and all of that had been done.  The GM refused to come out and discuss all of the issues with us until he was made to come out there. He said " well I don't know what you want me to do about it. You bought a used boat. " He also said we were offered extended warranty and declined. OF WHICH WE WERE NEVER OFFERED. Blackbeard did not stick to their word and now I have a boat that most likely will not run the rest of the year. Still will not make it right and honor their word. This is twice that I have attempted to be happy with this unreputable boat repair operation. The first time I took my PWC in for a tune up...they did not even replace the spark plug and when I got it home it wouldn't start. They wanted to charge us $400 to do a 20-minute job. Finally the service rep said that his son had worked on it and he was slow, so he took $50 off. However this time when we took it in, it wouldn't start. Asked them to winterize and get it running (it can't be winterized unless it starts). We went to pick it up and it was $439+ and they told us the could only replace the spark plug, never got it started, and that they really didn't work on 2 cycle motors. OH MY GOSH! Why didn't they tell us that before they took it in??? Talk about a HUGE ripoff. Never again shall I EVER darken the door of that group of charlatans. All the work was done but not with in the time line I was given, it was surpassed numerous times. I still paid $2600 for work preformed and was told boat was lake read when I picked it up the first time, that was not the case. The boat was not tested after the first repair so how do you know it was probably working? And was definitely not tested after the second repair so I ask you how can you take pride in customer service. And that the customer receive the best possible service if the work done is not probably tested. And I'm guessing it's okay for your employees to be disrespectful to a customer. read more

I just purchased a new G3 CCJ from Blackbeard Marine. The service and assistance was as good as it gets. Maybe better. I have purchased a number of boats from various dealers over the years. Assistance and service during and after the sale is important to me. And that is why I like Blackbeard. Several years ago I purchased an outboard for a major repower from Blackbeard and then the assistance and service was also 5 star. All of my next purchases will be from Blackbeard.
