The cabins are clean and cozy. You have everything you need right on the lake. The showers could be a little bigger but the screened front porch makes up for it. My dog love the beach style lake front to walk along and take an afternoon swim. Took the paddle board and went out on the lake. There was quiet coves nearby. The docks are really convenient if you have a boat. Very clean and has fish cleaning stations, plus they have pontoon boats to rent. Friday afternoon there was no one at the inflatable obstacle course so I had it all to myself.

Had to add buying more to the growing RV needs list. The park was well maintained. The trailheads have limited parking. We drove around until we found one on trail 9. There are 14 or more trails and they seem to create a loop. We hiked 3 miles and called it a day. The trails sometimes needed better signage. I liked the vast amount of picnic areas. This park is well off the main steers creating a quiet place to enjoy. I mean, I heard speed boats during our hike, but that didn't spoil my solitude.

You may find this hard to believe, but it is true- The first trip I took with Travis in December of 2016 we caught and released 84 stripers between the two of us in four hours and in 6 different spots on the lake, I have been fishing with live bait with Travis, Trolling, and casting, and he has always been able to locate the fish and figure out what they will hit. the least fish we have caught and released in any of the 6 four-hour trips was 35 fish, and that was because I wimped out and asked to go in early. IMHO Travis is as good a guide as you will ever find.

Being a city guy my fishing is something that I do quite infrequently, but with Brain you just show up and he takes care of everything. Boat, Poles, Lures, Bait catching (yea the guy catches bait with a net), hook your bait, unhook your fish and fish filleting (guy is a fish cleaning machine). It is definitely worth the money. So lesson learned here city folks (that includes you suburbanites too) is don't waste your money buying your own fishing equipment that you will never use and don't waste your time aimlessly looking for fish in the lakes. Just pony up once a year for a trip with Brian and get er done.
