This is a great consignment shop. The store is clean and well-organized. There are a variety of brands that I look for (Ann Taylor LOFT, Banana Republic, etc.) and the staff is very nice. I had a great experience consigning clothes here as well. Although I wish more of my stuff had sold, I realize that 00 and 0 may not sell as much as other sizes. I'm not all too familiar with consignment shops. It seems that all of the shops I've ever entered in my past have been... well... trashy. The clothes are out of style, they stink and are torn and tattered. The costume jewelry is very nana'ish. The ambiance is dank and drab. And then there is Blackbirds Consignment. A friend of mine recommended that I contact Jackie at Blackbirds after I mentioned I was cleaning out my closet. I have a problem. This problem is called shopping. I'm addicted to it. I'll buy a shirt, for example, and really like it in the store. I'll take that shirt home and put it in my closet. I forget about it. I take it out with the intention of wearing it. I put the shirt on. I take the shirt off. I put the shirt back in my closet. It's a nasty habit. Anyway. I made an appointment with Jackie and that appointment was today. I must've brought in at least 50 pieces of clothing, 10 pairs of shoes, 5 handbags and a slew of belts. She quickly picked through the out of season items and suggested I could either hold on to them and bring them back to her in a few months, or I could leave them there and she would donate them to a local church. I decided on the latter. I like the way Jackie's store is run; she's very fair. Let's say she puts my dress up on the rack for $30. If and when that dress sells, we split the sale price; she keeps $15 and I get $15. She'll offer cash or a check or even an in-store credit. Items stay on the floor for 60 days. After the 60 days are up, you have 7 days to come back and pick up your items, or she can donate them for you. The shop is small, but it's packed full of stylish and inexpensive clothing. She does have a high end label rack which are priced fairly. Everything I looked at, high end or not, was such a good deal! Her space is light, bright and airy. It's very hip. I can't wait to get back here and spend more time poking around. Jackie is great; she's very down to earth, personable and really takes the time to talk to you. Bottom line. Stop in to Blackbirds and either drop off some items to consign, or spend some of that hard earned money of yours! read more

Oh. My. Gosh. How I never stopped by this consignment shop before I will never know!! On my first visit I scored high-end clothing that were modern and trendy. I am in LOVE! The store was a far cry from the stale, old, dingy consignment shops I've ventured in before. Where the clothes are "vintage" but far from practical everyday wear. I walked in pleasantly surprised! The store was clean, organized, and fresh. Fresh as in: free from a lingering musty odor and/or harsh perfumes (a clear indication of covering up). I expected to browse through the clothing racks and find one or two (max) items that would be "cute." But I walked in loving everything I laid my hands on. Plus with the more than reasonable prices I couldn't resist! I walked in expecting to pay $10-20. But splurged with $68. Which sounds like a lot. But man, did I get alot!! Let me list my first (definitely not last) retail haul from Blackbirds: * LOFT Modern Bootcut Dark Wash Jeans * LOFT White Summer Capris * Glossy Hunter Wedge Ankle-Length Rainboots * A&F Pinstriped Buttondown shirt * LOFT Black&White Striped Tank * Black&White Pinstriped Gap Blouse Where else can you get ALL OF THAT for $68?! This is a very cute consignment shop. As a consigner, I would happily do my business here -- the owner is friendly, helpful and honest which are great attributes for someone in this business. The shop is tidy, well-lit and clean, with ample changing rooms and loads of stuff to browse. They carry items you usually find in mall shops -- Gap, JCrew, Express -- in good condition at very fair prices. They'll break down your loot with you either by check or you can get credited to a store account (I believe the split is more if you go for the store account). If you're a smart and thrifty shopper, I definitely recommend the latter as my in-the-know friend proclaimed this this best local thrift shop in the area. While I'm not a shopper of consignment clothes and wares myself, I was really impressed with the professionalism and warmth the shop displayed, and think that their business model is a smart one. read more

I only feel compelled to write reviews on Yelp lately when something is amazing. Blackbirds is just that. I've only visited another local womens consignment shop before this and was a little scarred by the dingy, disorganized environment. This store is clean, super-organized and stocked with higher end clothes that don't look like they were ever worn before. The owner, Jackie, is very friendly and helpful. I feel as though I could need a specific outfit for an event, stop in here and find it with her help. I can rarely do that at stores like TJMaxx or Marshall's, so it says a lot. The product in this store most definitely deserves 5 stars. I have never walked out empty-handed and never walked into the dressing room with less than 6 items. I've bought purses, designer jeans, shoes with the tags on them and have yet to be disappointed. The only reason for the deduction is that I recently had a very poor customer service experience. I had called over last week and said that I'm a regular shopper and asked if were they accepting fall/winter clothing donations. Jackie was extremely offended at my use of the word "donation" and corrected me to "consignment". Having never consigned before, I said No big deal, I figured it was worth checking since I was coming in to go shopping the next day anyway. She proceeded to rudely tell me that they are booked up far in advance and bringing in items in the next day is "pretty much unheard of." Ultimately, I was made to feel like an idiot and the fact that I introduced myself as a customer had no bearing on her courtesy, or lack thereof. I frequent Blackbird at least twice a month from a half hour away and I've sent several people through their doors. I visited Blackbird the following day, and I will likely continue to shop there. But ultimately, my experience left me bummed out and devalued as a customer. read more

Customer service: outstanding Selection/quality of labels/quality of pieces: outstanding Layout/findability/cleanliness: outstanding General funk and decor: outstanding Walked out with 4 pieces: 2 wool Banana Republic sweaters, an Under Armor workout top, and a short sleeve spandex-y Banana Repbulic shirt - can't wait to layer it under a blazer for fall. Love that the dressing room has some girl power boosts, like a chalkboard with the message "You are beautiful... you are beautiful..." Great jewelry, too - including Tiffany's bracelets! Blackbirds Consignment is hands down the best consignment shop in the state. I love to give back and sell a lot of clothes through the store and every time I visit, Jackie and Cheryl are always so pleasant and helpful! They price each item well enough so that the buyer, seller and store are all happy. The store is organized beautifully - you can find your size, color, etc. instantly! The layout is great. Handbag selection is FAB!!! Gucci, Coach, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany jewelry, Manolo heels, you name it, I've seen it there. I love supporting a local business and Jackie is an exceptional business owner. Not to mention Lamar, her dog, frequents the store and is a pleasure to see! This shop is so nice and the owner was one of the most helpful and kindest I've met. While I personally couldn't find anything in the store, it was still nice to look at how cute she has set it up. Everything is organized , clean and just so cozy. She is very honest about what she has and is very particular. She makes sure she is selling designer clothes in great condition. She even recommended me to a website that I could find some designer consigned handbags if I was interested. That was very sweet of her! After reading yelp reviews I stopped in for the first time today and it will definitely not be my last! Walked out with 3 dresses, 2 pairs of pants, 2 shirts, a sweater, and a skirt, all for $116. As others have said, it is very clean and well organized, and everything is very good or like-new condition. First let me say I have heard nothing but fabulous things about this place from my step mother, so of course I decided to go see for myself. I was not even in the threshold and as I am holding the door for my child I was immediately NOT greeted w hello but greeted with a snippy "do you have an appointment?" As I was obv looking to consign my BRAND NEW TAG ON CLOTHING. I said well HELLO because I found this very rude. The store appeared very lovely which made this even more of a shame because the lady pam behind the desk continued to tell me (as if I am supposed to know the clothing behind her all needed to be tagged or otherwise worked on) that the appointments are not until June and that I needed one as she huffed and puffed she said she had "all these items need to be tagged, and they wouldn't take my things anyhow as they were too fancy & I should try fabulocity shop instead". She was rude, seemed bothered and if I wanted to look around I don't think I was even given the chance as she was quicker to turn me away by I was on trying to sell. Maybe if I seemed like i wanted to purchase her attitude would have been different. I called my step mom to tell her how shocked u was as she recommended the shop to me and to my surprise, SHE STOPPED GOING THERE BC OF THIS SAME LADY. Completely wasted my time and would NEVER reccomend this place bc of the lack of decent customer service and just pure ignorance. Very unfortunate bc they looked very nice for the whole 15 seconds I was in the building. read more
