I totally scored here after brunch on the east bay. Well curated, large children's resale clothing shop with - get this - maternity clothes consignment too (have yet to find a place that resales maternity clothes). Good note for next pregnancy. I bought a terrycloth baby GAP onesie and a GAP plaid short and onsie comb. Both were half off and cost around $3.50 each. I was in the market for a vibrating chair because our babe doesn't really care for the bassinet we have. I found one made by Boppy that has different music, a plush headrest, and multiple vibrations for only $16. Finally, I did pass on this because I already have a k'atan sling, but I really really wanted another one that was practically new in the box for around $20. I paid $60 new. I always say that I thank God for blessing us with a boy, because I cannot afford a girl. Everything lady-like I see I want to buy. So beware if you have a penchant for purchasing for your little girl - they have about triple the inventory. Owner is really nice - we talked good local brunch places. read more

I saw Luca Boutique and a product they had that I was very interested in advertised a local listing site. So I emailed the owner before I made my one hour trip to Warren, RI for a stroller. I confirmed her hours and that she still had it the day before. I did leave out that I was driving an hour, didn't think that info was needed. I arrived to a beautifully decorated store, I have to say it's really nice inside and looks very upscale. I checked some of the clothing out and prices, everything was in pretty good condition but a little over priced for my taste on used clothing. I then approached the owner about the stroller I had emailed her about and she was like "Oh the Quinny, yeah, I was just about to give that back to the owner. It won't fold and I can't sell it like that". So you couldn't just shoot me an email and save me the trip; I mean seriously, that's the right thing to do. I guess that common courtesy never occurred to her. The stroller wouldn't fold, we didn't know if it was broken or she just didn't know how to fold it. The stroller itself was in really raggedy condition anyway. She did mention on more than one occasion that it had been there since January when she opened, wasn't selling, and that the owner just told her to sell it for whatever you can get for it. We offered her $75 less than what she was asking for a four year old beat up, stained up, stroller with a chipped up and banged up frame that wouldn't fold. She refused and said that she needed to talk to the owner fist. Either way, pending what the owner said, she said she would meet me half way into my trip to deliver it. This was before she found out I was an hour away. She did email me a day later and tell me the owner came in and folded it up no problem so it was all good. She never did offer to drive it thirty minutes one way like she originally said. I've since found one in much better condition for just about the same price. Luca boutique is over priced, even their uppababy stroller was over what the going used rate is. Maybe because the store looks fancy the owner believes it's ok to overprice used items. The owner doesn't know what she is doing and is clearly new in this business. I sadly don't recommend Luca boutique. read more

I have been shopping at Luca since I was pregnant with my first baby. I believe not everything needs to be brand new and every thing that can be purchased secondhand should be. This store is the gold standard for what resale should be. Clean, organized, easy to shop, with helpful and friendly staff as well as the right price points. The prices are well below what exact the exact same items sell for on reseller sites. Highly recommened. read more

I had a good experience here. They have a lot of great stuff for babies. There seemed to be more girl clothes than boys (I was shopping for my 2 month old baby boy). I found out about the shop when looking for a swing on Craigslist. I was able to buy a like-new Snugabunny swing for $60 less than brand new. They had other new items that I never knew existed (mini trendy looking kneepads for crawlers? What a great idea!). A bit of a drive from Providence, but I'll be going back to check out what else they have when my little guy grows bigger! read more

I thought I reviewed this years ago, but it turns out it was just a Facebook review so here goes nothing. I didn't think there were kids clothing consignment shops like this up in Rhode Island. After shopping at a hometown favorite of mine back in St. Pete (Stellie Bellies), I was always disappointed by the kids consignment places around here. Every store was either musty like a basement and clothes were packed so tight you couldn't find anything decent or slightly cleaner with absolutely no customer service. I was thrilled when I finally made the "trek" down to Luca. For a Rhode Islander, a 35 minute drive may seem like too long but it has always been worth my while. The owner Diane keeps an impeccably clean shop filled with gorgeous clothes that sometimes even have the tags on them. I'd never pay full price for a Janie & Jack outfit for my kids since they'll only get one season from them, but here I can splurge on the kids, guilt-free. I've both consigned and bought clothes from here for years and have still not found a children's consignment shop that comes close to Luca's selection and shopping experience. It will be a sad day when my kids outgrow the clothes I can buy at Luca! read more

I have tried Lucas numerous time! I really want to like it but every time I go there I leave irritated for 1 reason or another. Things I like: 1. The store is open and bright. 2. They have a parking lot and a cute play area for kiddos. Things that I don't care for: 1. The staff is aloof at best, very often snotty and dismissive. 2. They much prefer having a boutique name on the clothing vs having the clothes in good shape (meaning a lot of the clothes are worn out and in poor condition). The shoes are usually trash (dirty and worn) but they have a fancy brand name! 3. Expensive! Expensive! Expensive! I once saw a pair of Circo (Targets brand) for $7. You can get them at Target on sale for $5! 4. Consigning with them is a hassle (and a rip off). They put your clothes out for 3 months and if you want them back you have to go to the shop and dig through the racks to find them. Sometimes they put them away in storage for "next year". Catch is by the time the sell the next year it has been a year and they are no longer in "the system" so you don't get paid for your clothes! 5. And did I mention expensive! read more

I have been consigning and shopping at Luca since the day they opened. Prior to my experience here, I was always wary of purchasing items for my daughter that were previously worn/used. But the owner has made sure that while shopping here, I never have to worry. Every item is immaculate and stain/tear/damage-free. The prices are unbelievable on brands like Lily Pulitzer, Mini Boden, and even Burberry! Where else can you get a long-sleeve Burberry kids shirt for $12? To address Allicia M's review...yes, the prices are a bit steeper here (and I say "steeper" very loosely), BUT this isn't a yard sale or a thrift store. It's more than "used clothing." Half the items even have the original price tags attached! I've seen the care they take to examine every item I bring in to consign (both clothes and baby gear), and they are very discriminating. The store itself is a pleasure to shop in. It's bright, extremely well organized, and the play area for the kids is the perfect touch for a family-run business geared towards families. Huge kudos also for posting "just in" items on their Facebook page and giving you a chance to preview new items every day. It's like having my own personal shopper! Other children's stores take note from Luca - the children's fenced-in play area is key to an enjoyable shopping or selling experience. My daughter and I stopped by Luca for the first time last weekend and were pleasantly surprised by this expansive and well-kept store. Impressive selection of gently used boys and girls clothes, shoes, gear, toys and other items. I have not tried consigning at Luca yet, although I did inquire and it sounds like they only buy on weekdays, which makes it tough for me. They also appear to only buy for the current season. Looking forward to shopping and hopefully consigning too at Luca. read more

honestly, this shop is AMAZING...it gives "consignment & resale" a whole new feel...it's gorgeous, clean...organized (did i mention clean)...the staff is awesome, the owner is FABULOUS...everything is clean & sized...there's plenty of room to roam & browse, no stinky "thrift store" smell...it's light & bright...there's a parking lot in the back...area for babes to play... great selection, clothing, shoes, accessories...adorably decorated...you will LOVE this shop.... read more

Stopped in today for my first time. Stylish store with decent clothing but I couldn't get over the attitudes of the women who worked there. I wasn't greeted and after wandering aimlessly for what seemed like forever, I asked for help. The lady helped me but acted like I was taking her away from something... from being a unhelpful clerk possibly? Whatever. I get better deals and better clothing at countless other shops - won't be stopping in here ever again. read more

Luca is a fantastic consignment store, one that you would never realize was consignment except for the fact that everything has a "one of a kind" feel to it. Diane is a friendly and knowledgeable proprietor and the store is well-designed with lots of space for you to push a stroller, or let your child walk around/play. I got my daughter fantastic shoes (Pedipeds for an amazing price), immaculate Gap jeans and embroidered pants, skirts, and sleep sacks, for great prices -- every time I checked the price on something I said, "Wow!" Everything is in pristine shape -- there is nothing here you will have to think twice about buying due to stains or rips or smells. And the headbands, barrettes, and other new goodies for sale are adorable. No you will not get "yard sale" prices here, but this is no yard sale, and you don't need to dig through trash to find the treasures. They are all displayed beautifully, are clean, have no odors etc. It's quite a wonderful store. I am sadly very glad that I don't live closer to Luca, because I would be here every day, and then run out of money! read more

I drove an hour to see this store and I was so impressed. It is worth the drive. The selection was unbelievable and the shop staff was so nice. The play area is a great addition and kept my 14 month old daughter occupied for over a half hour while I browsed around. I bought some great quality items at unbelievable deals. Luca is an amazing consignment store. Everything is easy to find and the space is wide open, bright and beautiful. You feel like you are walking around a high end boutique. I've gotten amazing clothes for my son at incredible prices and everything was name brand and most even still had the price tags on it. The owner is very nice and great to deal with. The shop is cute, there's a parking lot which us nice. They have some nice things. One issue is the quality if it is a name brand they will sell it, even if it looks like it belongs in the trash. I find the shoes to be the best example of this. They are in terrible condition and the prices are high. The staff is irritating, they ask you if you need help and no matter what you save they hover over you. I have tried to go several times calling and emailing with the owner, when I arrive during hours they should be open they are closed. I've heard this same complaint from several people. read more

I drove down to Luca based on a friend's recommendation. It took me just under an hour to get there but it was well worth the trip. The store is beautiful. You really feel like you are in a boutique. The owner is so likable and very knowledgable about her items. I bought many things for my daughter, many of them were new with tags and very high end labels. A previous review said the tag prices on the clothing was high, i didn't find that at all. I bought Ralph Lauren sweaters for under $10. This store will be a regular seasonal stop for me. read more

This consignment store is amazing. I honestly didn't feel like I was shopping consignment - everything is so clean and organized. It is like shopping at a trendy and upscale children's boutique. The owner was incredibly helpful in finding things and answering questions. I found the prices to be incredibly reasonable - we are talking about name brand clothing that looked like it was never worn. I got things like Ralph Lauren, Tea Collection, Converse, Hanna Anderson, and Sperry at a fraction of what it would have cost me to buy it new. Luca is a beautiful consignment store. Everything is in great condition and the store is well laid out and spacious. You don't feel like you're digging through racks to find things. I will say that sometimes the clothing prices feel a little pricey - $10 for a Ralph Lauren sweater is fantastic any day of the week, but $6 for a Crazy 8 t-shirt when the store itself sells them on promotion for $5 isn't such a bargain. However, their gear is well priced, and you cannot beat their shoe selection. See Kai Run shoes for $7, brand new Primigi for $25? That's fantastic. And the people who work there are always friendly and pleasant. Worth the drive! read more

This is by far the most stunning consignment shop I have ever seen. It's wide open and bright. Everything from the window displays to the signage and displays are welcoming and appealing. It has a fantastic children's area that kept my kids quite while I shopped for a good solid hour. In addition to some amazing second hand clothes, the boutique carries unique gifts for that upcoming baby shower. I hope to frequent Luca often. read more

Luca is my dream store, offering brand name children's clothes at excellent prices. The store has a wonderful layout and everything is perfectly clean and pressed. The owner, Diane does a wonderful job at making all of her visitors feel welcome and is glad to help you browse the racks for something specific. Also, if you let her know that you are looking for something specific, she'll keep her eyes peeled for it when new inventory comes in and let's you know when she gets it. She goes above and beyond providing excellent customer service. Be sure to "like" Luca's Facebook page because they often post photos of new items that come in. I make the 45 minute drive there every 2-3 weeks and it so worth my time to have a great shopping experience and get great quality clothing for my daughter at unbeatable prices. read more

I love Luca! I drive about an hour to this great consignment shop, but i find it's totally worth it. I love buying higher brands for my daughter at prices that are absolutely reasonable! I got my daughter a brand new with tags Gap dress recently! LOVE it! The store is well organized and beautiful, easy to sift through items. The owner is very helpful- i find their facebook page to be a great resource as well. I also love that she has a great child play space availble, as well as a bathroom and changing area! Perfrect for this pregnant mom who comes with a toddler in tow! I found a great maternity dress there in addition to many great cloths for my daughter. I highly recommend it to anyone and plan on making the drive often! read more

I frequent consignment shops since I love well-made, higher-end baby clothes but can't justify buying new. I was excited to check out Luca as I love brands like Tea Collection. To my disappointment, their prices are a joke. Why would I buy a second-hand BabyGap shirt for $7.99 when I just got one new on clearance for $2.97? I saw an adorable winter pea coat at Luca (it's now spring) and it was $40! I don't know how this place stays in business with competition nearby like Children's Orchard in Seekonk which is also picky about quality but knows how to price second-hand clothes (shirts for $3.99, dresses for $6.99, etc.- and plenty of BabyGap!). I love the idea of recycling but I'm not going to pay $24.99 for a used Tea dress when I can get a new one for $30 during their clearance sales. read more

The short version is: Overall, bad customer service, ok selection, pricing, condition of items. I can't help but wonder if the gushing reviews about "Diane, the owner" are from personal friends/acquaintances of hers. Or possibly she was not there either of the two times I shopped there. I've been to Luca twice, each time with 2 employees on duty. I was not greeted, nor acknowledged in any way either time, and the first time, I was the only customer in the store. The second time, I was more obviously, visibly pregnant (about 6+ mos, figuring maybe they consider that a 'more serious shopper'?? Only 1/2 joking here), and still no greeting or acknowledgment at any point. I went the second time because I'd seen a musical/vibrating seat the first time that stuck in my mind, so I decided if they still had it, I would purchase it. They had it, but when I brought it to the register, a piece of the plastic fell off when folding it. The employee's reaction was dismissive and somewhat condescending, and she just pushed the piece back on, implying it was no big deal, and it was as-is, take it or leave it. Even if it wasn't a big deal, it was up to me to make the assessment for myself rather than her thinking she could decide for me. And, in fact, the piece continues to pop off each time I fold the seat. I decided to continue the purchase anyway and simply dismiss the whole experience, figuring I would not go back, and I was satisfied enough with the seat and it's price. Overall, I gave the two stars for average prices and decent selection & condition of the items. The lack of customer service and friendliness is a disappointment and makes me reconsider if I'll shop there again. I would be more reluctant to spend because I won't be expecting a "warm fuzzy" experience, which is what I'd personally like as a pregnant woman, shopping for cute baby stuff. read more

I don't normally make posts like this, but I as a business owner & consumer, I have no tolerance for sleazy and unethical business practice. If you shop at or are thinking about consigning at Luca in Warren, RI I urge you to think twice. A month ago I dropped off about 16 high quality items. I returned today to pick up the unsold items because I was told I only made about $14 on the sale of 4 things. Turns out, after pulling my items I found that they pad ALL their prices with a random amount, and indicate much lower sale prices to the consigner (example. They had one romper priced at $12.95, but told me it was selling for $10, every item had a random amount). When I confronted the owner, she said it was a "transaction" fee and is in the contract. The contract states that a transaction fee is charged, however credit card transaction fees are 3%, not 30%. They are charging customers one overpriced amount, and purposely misleading their consigners. On top of that, I was missing at several items that she just "didn't have in her system". Items I brought to them that they just lost. She claims they may have gotten rid of them due to stains ,which makes no sense because they already went through all my things when I brought them in the first place....One of the dresses they "just didn't have" was something My daughter never even wore. I'm sharing this because there are plenty of small businesses that treat their customers with fairness and honesty, Luca, however is not one of them. Businesses that take lie & that advantage do not deserve our patronage. That is all. read more
