I used to go here before I moved states. I left because: 1. One day, my daughter left her car door open, leaving the light on all night in my car. This was the night before my appointment and Blackman Grove. It was just me at home, living in the middle of nowhere, with a dead car battery and no way to jump it. I called to get the appointment rescheduled, but was told it'd be $75 to do so. Fine. Thanks, daughter. I get it. 2. Finally get a new bridge (not sure if that was what the other appointment was for, but man, it was expensive, even with insurance.) However...a hygenist puts the bridge on and shapes it way too short. The dentist didn't even do anything. I was told she doesn't like doing those or fillings. I was also told that if I didn't like it, they could send it to a lab, but it'd cost MORE. Now, that side of my smile...the teeth are way shorter than the other side.‍ To my main point and complaint: found a new dentist where I'm located. They did X-rays and told me that all of my crowns from Blackman Grove are garbage. You can see them in the X-rays...they're not even cemented down well. I paid thousands...THOUSANDS...and now need to get them redone because my mouth aches. I loved this dentist...BEFORE they hired new people and completely redid the place (and started adding Botox to their services.) read more

I called on a Monday for a new patient visit and they got me in on a Friday, my son and on the following Monday! Usually they are not open on Fridays, so I was lucky on both appointments. The first thing I noticed about was how friendly they were on the phone. When I arrived early in the morning, the three women behind the desk were already having a Jovial conversation about the possibility of a therapy animal in the office. They texted the paperwork to me. When I was done, I had my teeth examined and cleaned. It was a prompt and relaxed visit. I am going next week for a consultation for some cosmetic dentistry. This is by far the best dental experience I've ever had and I cannot recommend Blackman Grove Dental enough. Let me start by giving a shoutout to a gem of person, Whitney (RDA). She is not only outstanding at what she does and super knowledgeable, but also so incredibly considerate and friendly. She made me feel at ease the entire time! Her professionalism is a 10/10 and her personality is a 10/10, too! Speaking of a 10/10, Olivia (RDH) is absolutely wonderful. She is helpful, professional and friendly as well! During my visit, I was seen by Dr. Burwell and she is fantastic! Dr. Burwell is an excellent communicator, genuinely amiable and passionate about what she does! 10/10 all the way. I recommend her wholeheartedly--two massive thumbs-up recommend :) Honestly, this entire office is going above-and-beyond to ensure the best care and most approachable atmosphere for their patients. Just go! You will be SO happy!!! Don't look any further for a dentist!! Seriously!! Let me start by saying I hate the dentist. I never want to go. I guess that is because I have been a lot in my life (I'm 54). My teeth are not great, root canal, crowns, all kinds of dental work. Now I think I need an implant and I'm dreading it and the tooth in question suddenly is lose....OMG. I'm having bad dreams, anxiety, the whole deal. Don't want to go to the dentist. I moved to TN not to long ago and there are so many choices for a dentist...many aren't even taking new patients though. So overwhelming, just felt lost. Let me also add I have a family vacation coming up in 2 weeks and really don't want to deal with this right now. Also, implants are really expensive !! I call up Blackman Grove. So NICE!! They get me in the same week. WOW. I meet Cara the dental assistant, so NICE, she puts me at ease right away. She says nice things, she is kind ( very important when you have dental anxiety, many are not so kind). She looks at the tooth gives it a wiggle and it comes out!!! OMG I'm sweeting....Long story short. Cara and the DDS Suzanne Stolarz are amazing!!! They talked with me, made me laugh... it was great, they made it easy. They cemented the tooth back in place and told me to have a great trip!!! We'll get everything looked at when you get back. AHHH I was so happy!! This was so amazing for me. I cannot rave about Blackman Grove Dental enough. I had not been to the dentist in over a decade. It had been so long that I was terrified to go see a dentist. In late 2016 I had a tooth that had gotten infected and knew I had to go have it looked at. My sister recommended Blackman Grove. With lots of fear I went. I was blown away by how kind everyone was and how no one made me feel bad for putting off visiting the dentist for as long as I had. I have not missed an appointment since. I've been coming here for a few years and they are amazing. My hygienist, Ashley, is wonderful and very personable. They send you text message reminders for your upcoming appointment, the check-in process is easy, the paperwork is short, and the lobby has a very homey feel to it. X-rays are quick and easy, the place is very clean, and they offer water bottles and lip balm to guests, as well as the "goodie bag" filled with toothpaste, floss, and a toothbrush. If you have a fear of dentistry you should go to Blackman Grove because everyone there makes you feel comfortable. They are professional and friendly. Also they know what they are doing. I had to have several crowns done and what was impressive to me is they make your crowns there. So you go in to have the work done and you leave for an hour or two then come back and they place the crowns. No temporary crowns and coming back in two or three weeks. I think this is awesome. Nice, clean office and friendly front desk staff. I am very disappointed in the business practice of this office. I am new to town and was looking for a dentist. I called and set up an appointment. I received a questionnaire to fill out before I went to the dental office. On the questionnaire, it states that insurance can be done in person, so I made it to my appointment 30 minutes before my scheduled cleaning. They didn't take me back for an hour because they were checking insurance. They then took me back after an hour of clearing insurance. Before the start of the cleaning, they made me take pictures, which seemed like the standard procedure for a new client. I took pictures and x-rays and they then took me to the cleaning. Halfway through my cleaning an administrator came up and informed my hygienist that my insurance was not going to cover the pictures that I was forced to take. They then told me that it was going to be $100. At the end of my cleaning they offered a fluoride treatment and informed me that it was going to be an extra $20. So they found it noteworthy to let me know that the fluoride was an extra $20 but they couldn't do their due diligence and make sure that my insurance covered the pictures? I ended up calling the office a few days later and asking to talk to the dentist about it. They told me that she would get back to me. I had to call several times because no one ever gave me a call back. The third time calling, the receptionist informed me that a standard text is sent out saying that if your insurance doesn't cover, that you have to pay for things out of pocket. She looked in their system and saw that I never received that text. A few days later, the administrator gave me a call back stating that the dentist said that there was nothing they can do and that I need to call insurance and see why they didn't pay for the pictures. This office does not take responsibility even when they show in their system that they did not send a text, nor did they do there due diligence with what my insurance covers. I will not pay. This business failed me as a customer. DO NOT go there!!!! read more

Dr. Kelly stayed later than scheduled on Friday of last week just to allow me an opportunity to be seen as a new patient with a persisting sensitive tooth. The office, personnel and overall experience were extremely positive and they use up to date technology which is good. I normally do not write reviews but in this case felt I must. Finding a new dentist can be hard but based on the referral of a friend, I tried Blackman Grove Dental. I am so glad that I did! I needed to have some extensive dental work done that I was very anxious about. Dr. Kelly completely made me feel at home the very first visit. This place is state of the art! Their staff is friendly and well trained. I had 2 crowns replaced and a new one today! Three at one time!! Literally had no pain at all (other than the small pinch of the numbing shot). They made the new crowns on the spot! I can honestly say this was the best dental experience that I have ever had. Located in a strip shopping mall this office is bright with lots of sunlight. Free coffee and bottled water are available in the waiting area. The receptionist Ashley was very friendly and thorough making sure all paper work was in order. Carol my dental hygienist was not only friendly and compassionate, she provided a very thorough cleaning and went through my X-rays from my previous dentist and compared them to my teeth. Dr. Ashley, discussed my plan of care for some dental work I need done down the road and also was very friendly. This practice is privately owned and it shows! She greatly impressed me with her thoughtfulness, knowledge, and empathetic approach. I told her of about my fear of seeing a dentist and she TOOK TIME to LISTEN to my concerns. She is caring and exudes confidence; my fear of sitting in a dentist's chair has disappeared thanks to Dr. Kelly and the Blackman Grove staff.
