DO NOT go to Lewis Dental. If I could, I'd give Dr. Lewis no stars. Not even a half. There are two main reasons. 1. Last year, my son was told he had 11 cavities. 11. He was also told if he didn't act quickly, things could deteriorate and he'd be in a horrible place. We took him to another dental practice for a second opinion and he was told he had none. One was sketchy. But none. 2. I had a crown put in. The lady who drilled into the tooth obviously drilled into the wrong tooth first. She admitted I was her first patient out of school. It wasn't until the numbness wore off way later that night that I realized the issue. I've still got to get that fixed but I honestly don't trust Lewis Dental to do it right. They've got a surprisingly high rating on here. I'm not sure how. Surely we aren't the only family they've screwed over. read more

My daughter has been going to Dr. Lewis for years. We liked him so much that we opted to keep her under his care even though we moved 45 minutes away. However over the past year or so, while Dr. Lewis is great, his front office staff is horrible! They have messed up our appointment times on more than one occasion and then have the audacity to be rude when you call them out on it. The most recent event, the office manager was rude, told me she wouldn't reschedule their mistake, and as I guess what she felt would be a zinger, nastily told me"by the way, we will not be taking your insurance anymore after the end of the year and I just thought you should know". The staff says one thing and does the other. Tells you if you have any problems with this temporary crown call us but then when it breaks and your in pain its sorry we cant get you in until your appointment which is in 2 weeks then when they have a scheduling issue for whatever reason instead of getting you in earlier they get you another appointment 5 weeks after the dentist and staff may be friendly and good at their job but other then that this place is ran badly. read more

This place was amazing! I had the wrong date and they did what they could to get me in to get my X-rays done. They were nice, very friendly and also had a very good relaxing atmosphere. When I got back there they had music playing and walked me through everything they were doing! They even told me suggestions and what my insurance company covered and what they didn't. My dental assistant she was amazing! Very personable and cared about my comfort! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better the DR came in he SHOOK my hand and asked about me. Had a terrible experience with them. The cleaning and checkups were fine. But when they found a very small cavity on one of my back molars the dentist I'm assuming Dr Lewis drilled over half of my tooth out to fill it. Overall I had a very bad experience with them. Their lobby is ridiculously small the front ladies were nice but the main doctor seemed unempathetic and disinterested or just too busy to care about the patient. I would not recommend them. I would just say that they went the most invasive route for the smallest cavity I've ever had. Teeth are permanent so you have to treat them with care. You can't just go hollowing out a tooth to fill it when the cavity is barely even surface level. read more

Phenomenal service! Knowledgeable staff that are so kind and very helpful. A little different from what I'm used to regarding how many employees there are since I seen the same dentist for 22 years and only 3 people worked in the office. This is amazing that Dr Lewis is giving so many people the opportunity to do what they love! The office is clean and always smells good. Excellent customer service. The dental cleaning is very thorough and professionally performed. Prices are in accordance with industry standards. Had an amazing experience at this dentist. All the staff were very welcoming and passionate. The facility was very clean. The dentist chair was extremely comfortable and even had a massager built in. I live in Alaska and Dr. Lewis is not my regular dentist. That said, I recently visited my AK dentist for my 6-month check up and was told that I had numerous cracks in a tooth and needed a crown. Their fee was $1,800 and my fee (I have health insurance) was over $500. I am a full-time student and my husband works two jobs so I can continue to pursue my degree. Money is tight, so to receive a quote like that is not easy on our wallets. I was visiting my mom near Murfreesboro right after my dental visit, so I looked on Yelp to find a dentist with good reviews. I rely on Yelp when I am traveling, and it has not let me down. This time was no exception. I called Dr. Lewis' office to ask if they would be willing to see me and to get a quote on a crown. I spoke with Audrey, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. I later spoke with DeeAnn, who was just as friendly. I was quoted a fee which was significantly less than the previous quote. They set me up with two separate appointments; one for ex-rays and an exam, and one for the crown, if necessary. I went in for the first appointment and had the ex-rays and exam. I was pleasantly surprised when Dr. Lewis told me that he felt a crown was not necessary because the tooth has a composite filling which bonds the tooth. I informed him that I almost do not want to go back to my regular dentist and he played devil's advocate and told me that I could visit 10 different dentists and walk out with 10 different treatment plans. Although I can't speak about any actual dental work performed by Dr. Lewis and his staff, I can tell you that they were absolutely lovely, friendly people who treated me with kindness. Since I visit my mom a few times per year, I think I am going to see him for my future dentist visits which I will schedule in conjunction with my TN visits. BEWARE OF THE "RATINGS HE HAS ON HIS OWN WEBSITE DOMAIN - THEY ARE EDITED SO EVERYTHING LOOKS ROSEY, DON'T FALL FOR IT! YOU HAVE BEEN SO WARNED! Bad Dentist Peete Lewis with Lewis Dental Group in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Kennedy Drive, is best described as hateful, extremely impatient, easily angered and abrasive. He wanted my anesthesia to "work" in 2 minutes and when it did not, he became brusque, irritated and suggested for me to go to a IV "sleep" Dentist. He was very discourteous. I was scheduled for a time slot from 8 AM to 11:30 A.M. but they had me leave after cleaning only 1 side of my teeth, I was only there for one hour - just 60 minutes! - I was cheated out of my PAID time, $325.00 for cleaning ONLY the right side of my teeth! What he calls "Sedation Dentistry" is a joke, seriously, a valium the night before and another an hour before the appointment. This is NOT sedation. I was jabbed with numerous large needles so HARD and jolted in so SEVERELY that my mouth filled up with copious amounts of blood, making me gag. The experience was revolting. Of all the dentists I have seen in over 40+ years that has never happened. He was forewarned on first visit that I am anesthesia resistant (red heads have lower pain tolerance - GOOGLE it!) It takes at least 10 minutes of gas for me. He was so sweet that first initial visit, but it was saccharine and fake. He said this was not a problem about being anesthesia resistant and a longer appointment scheduled for this reason, not that did any good because he did not give me the time I was promised. A month later (today) he suddenly had a problem with me being anesthesia resistant. I require Nitrous that actually flows freely through nose mask - (Dr. Lewis's machine did NOT, it was weakly coming out) - I was not allowed to breathe through my mouth and breathing through the nose mask gave me no oxygen/air at all - I COULD NOT BREATHE in the NITROUS or OXYGEN through their nose mask and I told them so. In other words, I could not breathe - period - I was breathing in my own carbon dioxide! He stormed out of the room fiercely in a rage. The Dental Assistant (QUINN) went back to cleaning and after about 5 minutes my mouth was starting to get numb and I told her so. She said "good!" cheerfully and excused herself for a moment and I could hear her conversation as she told Dr. Lewis "she is numb now, can I proceed?" Dr. Lewis (IN FRONT OF OTHER PATIENTS!) shouted out "TOUGH, she took too long!" He was mad at 10 minutes of numbing, furious, totally fuming. Quinn, once again told him "but she is numb Sir, she is all set" and she got another "TOUGH!" in response back from Peete Lewis. I wondered what the other patients were thinking with his acerbic attitude. There was quiet for a moment and then he said "Schedule her for next week and clean her left side - then!" Even though I had an allotted time with him today of 3 and 1/2 hours he screwed me out of a FULL 2 hours and sent me home with only 1/2 of my teeth cleaned. I was there for ONLY a mere hour. Quinn said she could do the left side, she WAS trying, she was really making an effort - but Dr. Lewis said "NO!" - He would not let her. My husband had to take a Vacation Day for this, a day that is now lost thanks to an inferior dentist. I was supposed to have other work done today though I guess that too is "TOUGH!" I have made an appointment with a less aggressive dentist, someone I have seen before though I will have to drive a little further to see him, at least he is gentle and does not use domineering tactics on frightened patients. Peete Lewis, I am surprised that Rutherford County allowed you to open up practice here. You should be ashamed of yourself and seek out a professional therapist for your anger issues. I am a big yelp user and when I saw that Dr. Lewis had five stars on yelp he was definitely going to be the best choice. I called the office after hours to make an appointment and left a message and my phone call was returned within 30 minutes of them opening the next morning. I was able to get in for an exam x-rays and cleaning within a week which for a lot of other dentists is unheard of. When I got the confirmation text for my appointment I called the office to see if I could get the new patient paperwork faxed to me so I was prepared for the visit. They quickly sent me the paperwork and I was able to come in and have everything done prior to my appointment which is very convenient for me. The staff was super friendly and my visit went off without a hitch. Dr. Lewis really took the time to talk to me after my exam and answer any questions that I might have. Quinn did my cleaning and she was super friendly and we had a great conversation and she also made sure that I was comfortable throughout the entire time. Had my first appointment yesterday for a once a year check up (hey don't judge)... Have to say, these folks scored high marks in all my categories. The good reviews I based my choice on were legit. They were warm, friendly, efficient, thorough, and knowledgeably explained everything they did and were about to do. Don't know if I've ever had so many x-rays of my mouth from every possible angle! I told my tech that I'd switched to them after a one time visit to another area dentist a year ago had ended with me getting 3 or 4 cavities (after a 37 year perfect teeth streak) which had made me suspicious. She understood, and after a very careful exam in which she described a couple borderline spots and why, Dr. Lewis checked over her work and said I just have deeper indentions in my back teeth than some and I had no cavities! Yes :-D Probably the most thorough cleaning I can remember having and my teeth were noticeably whiter. I will be back in July! read more
