I initially came to ask questions shortly before they closed on a Friday. They were kind and answered all of my questions about tinting and the paint protection. They had an opening from a cancellation on Tuesday morning, so I took that opening, and I was able to drop my car off on Monday evening. There is a key lockbox, and the the exterior has cameras all around for security. They finished the work about 6 hours before the estimated time (I was told evening, and it was done about noon on Thursday). I picked up the car on Thursday evening when I was available with no problem. They were thorough with instructions to protect the work done. I highly recommend Blackout. read more

Just last week, I sent an LS 460L to Scott at Blackout. As always, his work is perfect! He is the only shop I know of, in town, who uses a printer/cutter to cut the film template using computer templates. The result, is a perfect cut and fit. There are never any bubbles.. Scott has tinted many of my prior cars, starting about 2000 - Mercedes S class, Several Lexuses, including 460s, CT, RX etc, one BMW, Several Toyotas, Honda etc.. I avoid driving a car without tint and as soon as I buy a car, I send it first to Scott at Blackout... His prices are very fair and I am happy to recommend him to fellow yelpers. I made an appointment with James at Blackout in west Allis. I waited two months for this appointment to tint my 2013 BMW 535i. When the day arrived I was very excited, and I had to get up at 6am to get my car to the appointment. I showed up on time and sat in my car on Monday October 26th for more than an hour waiting for the business to open. They have hours posted of 7am so I waited until 8:15am. I thought maybe they were late, or had forgot about my appointment. I left several messages on the voicemail. There was no answer and no call back, so I left my car in front with the keys in it and I took the bus home. The bus ride was a long convoluted voyage. I again called the shop when I got home. There was no answer. Next, about an hour later the owner called me and said James was in the hospital emergency and they didn't know what was wrong with him. He said they would try to get to my car, but James was the sole employee of that location. I am not a nightmare client. I did not make a stink. Things happen. I was disappointed, but I did not take my disappointment anywhere. To my surprise the owner called me back a few hours later made me a generous offer... Wow! I was happy to get such great service and thought, these guys are great! The owner was apologetic and said he wanted to tint my car windows himself. He said he would come in the following Saturday October 31, and do it himself at the Waukesha store. I was thinking this was very nice of him. Waukesha is far away from me so this time I arranged a ride from a friend. I was so excited to get the work done, and happy that they were going to help me since I waited two months. So this time I do not want to drive there without knowing they will do my car. So I called Friday October 30, to confirm the appointment and leave a message on the voicemail. The owner did not return my call. So after wasting two months (and one week) of my time and causing me inconvenience and giving me unfulfilled promises...I still do not have tinted windows. James never called me. The owner never called me back. i do not recommend Blackout. I will tell my friends to research other places that keep their word. read more

Just picked up my car today after dropping it off at noon. When I first called, I was told there was a 3 week wait, but if you go to their website and look up the past clients, you will see why. Numerous Packers, Brewers, etc, so once I seen that, I knew this was the place to go (also based on a recommendation). I will admit I was a little concerned when it got to be 4:15pm and I still had no call about it being done, but while on the way out there, I got the call that it was finished (4:40), and since they had a few more to do, they were sticking around well past the 5pm closing time. So yep they will stick around till the job is finished, which shows a dedication that I love seeing in businesses!! Anyway, everything looks good so far. I got the 30 all around, and a 5% strip on the top of the windshield. I was concerned that the dot matrix in the top center would mess up the adhesion of the tint film, so I asked the tech if it was possible to cut it so it would go AROUND the dots, and sure enough they did. The shop wasn't all to hard to find (thanks to Google Maps), though the multiple buildings might throw some people off. Also the shop itself was SPOTLESS, which is another point in their favor! The techs were also very professional, and answered any questions I had. Do yourself a favor though. If you have it done here, have someone pick you up. Granted I wasn't able to explore their "compound", so I am not sure if they have a well stocked waiting room or not, but there isn't much to do if you sit around and wait (maybe walk around Woodmans for a few hours :P), plus, with summer around the corner, they will be busy and might not get to your car right away! Overall, a positive experience. Price was a little on the steep side compared to other local spots, but you get what you pay for, and I paid for a piece of mind that it was done by a quality company that people like Edgar Bennett, Gilbert Brown, Ray Allen and Jim Gantner , also trusted to do their vehicles! read more
