As much fun as the pleasure beach is they need more/different rides, also I don't agree with having to pay to get in if your not going on any rides, they also need a better indoor food court especially if the weather is bad and more choice of what food is available. read more

Fantastic place to take the kids with numerous rides, stalls and snack bars. Just make sure you bring plenty of money as even with a wristband for free rides it can get expensive especially if you fancy some fresh donuts, a hotdog or candyfloss. read more

The Big One rollercoaster of madness. I had all the time with a bag in his hand, because I thought I need to puke. Is not yet happened, then 1999. craziest roller coaster which I rode in England, and the only one. I commemorated the spectacle has cost 8 pounds. Still one of the main attractions in Blackpool, and definately good for a giggle. Wristbands are now in place, which can either make your day cheaper, or much much more expensive. Although I've visited Blackpool many times, it was only last year that I finally got to go to the pleasure beach. I would definitely recommend you get a wristband when you get there, because paying for the rides individually with tokens costs a fortune! They also have periods during the year where ticket prices are halved, so that's worth keeping an eye out for. There are plenty of 'old' fairground rides which feel rickity enough to still be scary, whilst the more modern rides such as the Pepsi Max 'big one' and Vahalla are a thrill a minute. A good day out all in all, not the cheapest in the world, but certainly fun especially if the day finishes with a look at the illuminations. read more

The pleasure beach really is one of the best value days out for the whole family. The great thing I thought was brilliant is that if you don't want to ride anything (which I didn't) that you don't have to pay to get in and walk around. Being a Blackpool resident, I must offer this review on overall observation over the last twenty or so years. BPB has been pretty dated as far back as I can remember, and it tries to compete with amusement parks nine times its size in ways it cannot possibly win. The rollercoasters go up and down really fast, especially the Big One (not so big anymore, given others advances), there's not been a fatality in about six years (congratulations on that), and the water rides get you wet (Valhalla is my favourite). It's got a number of games of chance which are all but impossible, though I have won the odd one, and the food places will give you standardized food that is edible, if you don't choke at the price. But it holds a sort of childlike charm, and genuinely can be a lot of fun, if you don't look at your bank balance afterwards. Price, now there, chaps, is the BPBs downfall. It was expensive five years ago, an now, it's nothing short of daylight robbery. They have started charging to get on the park, rather than to go on the rides, and now it costs even if you are just along to hold the coats. If you're going to go, book early, and make sure you're all ready to go on everything you can get on to make sure you get your moneysworth, and buy food elsewhere. read more

Lots and lots of fun and varied rides. There is something for everyone, from tiny tots to those 'big kids'. Not the cheapest of places but if you get a wristband you can make sure you get your moneys worth. There are loads of places to eat in at, or get food to take with you and not terribly priced either. My husband is a huge rollercoaster fan so he loves it here, especially The Big One! My personal fave is the huge carousel, makes me feel like a child again, haha! read more

I've lost count of the times I've been here! My favourite ride must be the big carousel with the horses on! My mum always used to buy me some doughnuts from a small stall just outside, and this is just one of many places you can get food and drink. It used to be free to walk around, but I think you have to pay now. It's worth it though if you're going to be spending a while there. There's also a gift shop on the way out, but the main attraction is that it's home to 'The Big One'! (The Pepsi Max.) The Pleasure Beach can be a fun but expensive day out. Expect to pay £20 for entrance fee from next year which includes unlimited ride access. It will no longer be possible to walk round the park for free. If you don't want to pay for the £20 freedom pass, it is £5 for park only entry. During busy times such as school holidays the queues can be very long and the wait to go on the main rides can be hours. Food is expensive so I would suggest taking your own if you have several children or eat in Blackpool town centre first before going to the Pleasure Beach. read more

Me and my family and friends go about 5 times a year, it is a brilliant place to go with everything you need for a fun day out in one place. the wristbands are a very good idea, saving you lots of money, and the rides are awesome. throughout the year they have offers on like buy on wristband get the other half price or free. I believe they are starting to charge people to just enter the fair, I dont agree with that because elderly people take their grandchildren and dont want to go on any rides, so they should leave it like it used to be and dont be gready, apart from that it is fantastic. The wristband is a very good idea, much better than buying tickets, the only trouble is there are such a lot of queues you dont always get to go on all the rides, it is better to go at 10 am when they open and stay all day. With the wristband price you get admission into the ice show which is awesome, I was shocked at the brilliant performance that didnt cost any more. plus we saw some mexican high divers that were also amazing and worth a watch if they come back next year. Blackpool pleasure beach is one of Britons best loved attractions with three (that's how many I counted anyway) piers, one of the piers has a sizable fun fair all year round with a massive Ferris wheel and various other rides for the big kid in everyone. And who could mention Blackpool with out saying something about the illuminations, if you are going there just to see them be advised the lights do not get switched on until five O'clock in the evening and it takes around two and a half hours to drive along the front due to all the slow moving cars taking in the scenery, and if you chose the trams to save the fuel be advised though the parking charges are very high at this time of year (when the lights are on). read more

This is the best theme park I have ever been to. It is the only one where we stay really late instead of running out of steam. There really is something for everyone, from a children's area with a mini log flume and mini wooden framed dipper, to the traditional woodies and the newer, faster ones such as the Pepsi Max. It is quite pricey but you can get deals on the clubcard. Parking is an issue, but you can usually find a space within walking distance and there is the added bonus of celeb spotting (my boys were delighted to meet Wes Brown last time we were there), lol! read more

I've long been a fan of Blackpool and the pleasure beach, though haven't been in a couple of years. I'm saddened to see from other reviews that there is now an entrance fee to the park. The last few times I went, I was thankful of the free entry as walking around the park revealed that the queues were all too big to bother with buying a wristband. BPB isn't Alton Towers with an audience going there for thrill rides, it's dependent on holidaymakers strolling down and being enticed by what they see as they walk round. There are times I've been and gotten great value - on rides within five minutes, no queues all day. Obviously that's not very good for the park. Though I find the rides tend to break down more at BPB than anywhere else. Valhalla especially can be a total nightmare. You can queue for two hours, get up to the front, and then they'll suddenly announce the ride's closing down. Even when you do get on, half the effects won't be working, like the giant Viking face projection that will sometimes be a Windows error screen. That said, it's my favourite ride, and it's a water ride that actually gets you soaked, unlike most log flumes and the like. Despite the problems, BPB has its charm and I'd never write off going. Blackpool is a great day out or weekend away, and the Pleasure Beach is worth visiting. Just have a look at the queues through the gates before you take the plunge read more

Blackpool Pleasure Beach, at Blackpool, is just like any other pleasure beach. "Very Noisey and Very Expensive". As for the Big Dipper it's past it's time, it's out of date!!! And yet thousands of holiday makers still pay to go on it. What's the attraction, is it that sudden feeling as if your heart has hit the roof of your mouth when the Dipper plunges almost vertically along it's rails? Magical place. It's becoming like a museum for 'classic' coasters and rides (Grand National, Wild Mouse, Big Dipper, Revolution (Dear God, won't someone fix that tower - it's scarier than the ride!)) and their once World-beating hypercoaster 'The Big One' will be around for years to come (I personally reckon it'll become the Grand National for the 21st Century). Outside of the complex, Blackpool is sprucing up very nicely too. I went in at the last minute for the last hour of my weekend just to see what the fuss is about . For a fiver you can just go through without rides which I think is excellent and if you want the rides included it was less than 40 pounds. I think this is very cheap. Security is over the top searching handbags and my glasses case , I thought she was going to go through my playlist and have a bit of gum while in there. Unfortunately it is the world we live in . I dont really do rides that are high so I wasnt going near that big rollercoaster especially with a hangover ! Some of the food looked a bit out of place for a theme park like fancy prawn salads that are too pricey but lots of junk food that is the staple diet of blackpool. As I didnt go on any rides or eat any food I dont have a lot to review except the park is amazingly fun and the rides look amazingly fun and the area for the little kids is fantastic. I was here on a girls weekend but I desperately want to bring my kids here because thats what you do when you have them. Staff are very helpful and friendly. read more

the park is looking great! we usually visit once or twice a year as a family as i did with my parents going back to the 70's. Over the past 10 years the park has improved year on year. the rides are well polished and painted, while the structure of the park looks sharp, tidy and inviting. Day pass prices are amazing value at around £25 when you consider the day ahead will be non stop fun for all ages. Best and most notable improvements are to the many food and drink venues. All the ones i tried today were smartly presented, great quality and reasonably priced. Well done Blackpool, highly recommended! read more

they have plenty going on here fun fares for all ages very upto date rides and wrist band offers for all the family to.there are snake stalls arcades ,and skating on ice ,the fare is massive so it will take you somtome to get around,the worst time is summer because you have to wait ages in ques to get on a ride so i sduggest you dont buy a wrist band then because you will not get your moneys worth. read more

I adore the Pleasure Beach and visit at least once a year. It is closed for the winter but when it reopens the first weekend is often very cheap with some good deals to be had. The Big one has to be the best roller coaster and is really scary particularly over the first drop which is almost vertical. Valhalla is hilarious and I would definately advise wearing a plastic mac as you get soaked. There are also loads of other good rides such as Alice in Wonderland (which I have been going on since a small child). There's a seperate area within the park for smaller children with great little rides. The steeplechase is wicked and you go round a high track on a horse, the irn bru revolution is wicked if you like to loop the loop and of course who can forget the Grand national where two coasters race each other on a double track. There are loads of places to eat selling typical fairground food and now they have introduced and oyster and champagne bar which is lush. It's incredibly family friendly and you can buy a pass for all the rides or tickets if you just want to go on one. Have fun. read more

the main attraction in blackpool is now looking a bit dated with the rides on offer.Bar the Big one most of the rides are basic and quite boring. They now have altered the pricing policy and you have to pay £10 to enter the park, even if you dont plan to go on any of the rides.When i last visited my elderly parents had to pay £20 just to watch there grand children going on the rides. For the very young children there is a section called Beaver Creek which offers several mini rides are that aimed at the under 10s. The ghost house is one of my favourite non-ride attractions it is a truly laugh a minute. As well as the various rides there plenty of food outlets and arcades.The Burger king situated at the far end of the park is the cheapest and best value for a meal. Taken into account various rides for all ages and ability to come and go all day once you have the wristband it one of best attractions in blackpool read more

Went from opening to closing (11am-6pm at this time of year) and only managed to ride a total of 4 rides with the longest queue being the big one, as expected, yet they didn't seem to let the carriage go for a long time whilst people boarded. Also do not go to the Big Dipper hot dog stand as it took us 40 minutes to queue in a 5 people queue to get our food, hot dogs and chips. They let too many people into the park and its main focus is profit over happy customers. read more

i love rides, and the scariest are the best, so i love it

Until this summer I had never been to Blackpool and now I have been there 3 times for the pleasure beach. I love fast rides so I think its a great day out. It is £30 to entre and with that you can have as many goes on the rides as you like. I think £30 is a bit much but its worth it if you are planning on spending the whole day there. When its off season (like now) they lower the price to only £20 but I don't thinks its a as good, normally because it raining or cold. Its a place you should visit in the summer. It would taken me ages to list all of my favorite rides so I don't see the point. They have so many rides there that everyone has something to pick from. Have a look on the website. This place is great for adults, children and even older people who come as past of the family. If you would rather come and pay for individual rides you can do that, a lot of the elder people do, that way they don't waste as much money read more

When I have been there I was amazed, I wasn't expecting the choice of rides that were available. The Big Dipper wooden rollercoaster, play station ride, Ghost train, swamp buggies all these rides were great fun. Went a few years ago and had a good time on some of the old rides, I like the Grand National the best. Went this Oct half term with 5yr old just wanted to do some of the rides in the kiddy area. Seems they've changed their admission policy. Used to claim to be the UKs most visited free entry attraction - no more. You have to pay to get in now. For our 5yr old to go on a couple of little rides we'd have to buy a £20 ride wristband the same as a teenager wanting to do all the big coasters etc, and £10 non-rider wristband for us. £40 to do a couple of rides - sorry that's just wrong. I don't really like heights'tell a lie, I don't like heights at all! Yelp!! However, the Pleasure Beach is great fun for half of our family who love being in the air! There are loads of other ground level attractions to see and do and the discounted prices if booked online are a bonus. It is a happy place to go but I still won't venture on the big ride.
