I have been in there however, buying things for my dog and fish. They do have a fantastic range of toys and clothes, dog beds, bird cages and fish. They also have some medications for dogs: Frontline, Advantage and several others. They get quite busy and have a lot of staff that say 'I'll have to ask someone else'. That's good if you have time to wait but not if you're in there on a Saturday morning and trying to get all your shopping done in a short time.
I would never, ever buy a pet from, or support buying a pet from a pet shop, for moral reasons…read more It's common knowledge now that the vast majority of pet shops are supplied by puppy mills, which are unregulated and carry out gross violations of animal rights routinely. So for this reason, I would never recommend a pet store. However, HOW CAN YOU NOT SET FOOT IN A STORE THAT HAS PUPPIES EVERYWHERE?! I certainly can't help myself. I, too, have felt the need to buy a puppy so it can roam free in my backyard rather than be cooped up in a glass cage.. but it's a temptation we must fight, for the greater good. Anyway, the reason I like Pets Paradise is that they have a vast range of pet products, from flea and tick killer, to adorable body-leashes and collars. They have a wide range of pet food, as well as balls and chewtoys for our furry little companions to amuse themselves with. That, and the salespeople are really friendly, and seem to be invested in the welfare of the animals they keep, as evidenced by the fact that they're regularly (and rotationally) taken out of their cages and allowed to run around in little pens set up in the store, with lots of toys to play with, and people to interact with. The best part of my day is playing with a puppy or three in one of those pens.

Took it back and was told I must have kept it in the car too long and it's my fault. (I only live 5 mins away and I buy a pack of frozen food every week). Avoid.

It was also really lovely to discover that all of the kittens in the store were rescue kittens that were either dumped or abandoned, and unlike the RSPCA don't euthanize any kittens that are dumped under the age of seven weeks. On the whole, a really helpful store that seems to be really down to earth, and has a good moral code.

A few years ago they morphed into this glamorous building that cantains a vet, dog groomer, pet store and cafe. They have several full sized avaiarys on display in the car park, which is massive for a pet store (about 100 spaces). Go inside and there's everything you can think and some things you've never thought of - for pets. It's like a supermarket for your best friend and the best thing of all, the staff seem to know everything about pets and if they don't they know another staff member that does. They are also friendly! I had a problem with my dog barking, I was shown a selection of items and collars which could help, and they gave me the name of two local trainers in the area. I bought an anti-barking collar and also called one of the trainers - both worked and my dog doesn't bark needlessly anymore.

Also if you want to be charged about double the price for everything and a little bit more, go and check for yourself. I think your paying for the reno they have done. Don't get me wrong it's very nice and new and impressive, I actually prefer the old shop it had a bit more appeal.
