I used to work just up the road and ate at Malibu at least four times a week, and not once did I get the ordering process down pat. Shuffle up, speak clearly, name exactly what you want without the hubby or wife having to do much guesswork, and you're fine. Diverge from the process and you get frustrated looks, furrowed brows and terse, clarifying questions. And I get it. They're busy. Mainly because they create sumptuous, delicious, stacked salads and sambos that are giant, generous and utterly, entirely addictively fresh. Get the Vienna bread and make a sandwich so big you gotta share that bandit, or revisit it later for dinner. And hey, if you witness a meltdown, just run with it. They also offer takeaway. You can get your typical brunch items, but once 12pm rolls around you can order burgers/sandwiches as well. I ordered the cheesy wagyu burger with shoestring fries and it was decent. It didn't blow my mind but it wasn't bad either. The service is great, as the staff is extremely friendly. Some tables are shared as well and there's outdoor seating, definitely a place to kick it to kill some time. Would come here again.

There were also finely cut pieces of crunchy sweet potato on top giving it another element and texture. My meal and small soy coffee came to $21 which I thought was reasonable and I didn't leave feeling full and tired (I sound like an 80 yo woman). The service was a little slow and sloppy at times but the waitresses were very friendly which made up for it and they also provided a split bill service which is always a bonus for groups.

Been doing it for years and I always got the hams from my Golf club under the misapprehension that they were good value. Last Chrissy I did a bit of research (read 'bored at work') and I stumbled upon Sunshine Meats. The more I read the more I wanted one. These guys win every Ham competition they go in, but I hadn't seen them in SMH reviews that always come out just before Chrissy and usually just after I've ordered my hams. I now realise that those reviews only include 'bone in' hams presumably because of our customs and quarantine laws requiring any 'bone in' ham to be Australian. In other words 'boneless' pork can come from anywhere, even Canada ...or worse, Victoria! I decided on their Boneless Double Smoked Maple Infused ham. The pork is sourced from Australian producers, it won Best Artisan Ham in 2014 and 2015. It was sensational. Being boneless it was so easy to carve, but it was still moist and had a delicious smokey flavour. It came with a quality calico ham bag and a really nice Chrissy flower thingy that looked like Holly but was instead a little wreath of lemon myrtle ...I think? You should check out the website and see if you can justify getting a ham outside the Chrissy hols. I am seriously thinking about getting another one. They do all sorts of smallgood stuff (even though my ham was huge) and they deliver for free, which is important because they are in Milperra. Come to think of it, why is it called 'smallgoods' when most of the stuff is big? Anyway this place is just brilliant.

Still great coffee and tasty breakfast. NB. The Photos of the Menus are obsolete, there is no table service so you have to stand up in what tries to resemble a queue (take away orders mill about) and read from the board.

They've won numerous awards for their top quality gourmet food products and are friendly and helpful too. I was lucky enough to try one of their creamy, ricotta cannoli the other day that was on sale just outside their store at east gate shopping centre. They have a good selection of cheeses, including hard and soft cheeses, bries, raclette and daily specials too, the blue cheese on special the day I visited was $4. Their selection of olives also look fresh and more varied than your normal deli, Im looking forward at trying their anchovy filled olives on my next visit.

This place has had a few changes of ownership over the last few years and has recently changed…read morenames from La Buena Mesa to Esther's Table. Esther's Table, as it now stands, is a nice spot in the residential streets of Annandale, heavily populated by young mums and bubs. Whilst Esther's was once more tailored to tots, it still is quite kid friendly, with a blackboard, kids toy section and tiny table as well as a couple of high chairs. Babycinos are $1 and kids ice cream just $2. Teas are by T2 and the frappes and smoothies here are yummy. However, the coffee at Esthers Table (Toby's Estate beans) is hit and miss. Once fantastic, it's now sometimes pretty good, but on this particular day my piccolo is one third froth and two thirds burnt. Disappointing, but I have had good coffees here in the past, so don't accept this one as the rule. My fruit plate was yummy and the rest of the food is ok too, although when our eyes are used to seeing plates decorated with a green splash of garnish, eggs, toast and tomato on a plate looks a bit like the orange and brown 70's wallpaper at my Grandma's house. The owner of this establishment is lovely and when she's around there's a touch of warmth added to the cafe. On this particular day, however, the owner is absent and staff look bored and unenthused. There's nothing terribly bad about the service, it's just not fantastic.
