    Burger?

If you're looking for a coffee on the move or sitting down to take it easy, the coffee here is fantastic! Food ranges from cafe danishes and cakes to sandwiches and burgers (?). Coffee service is very fast and polite. Food had a slight wait.

Great service, delicious food (really enjoyed the Pulled Pork burger) and nice open atmosphere. Highly recommend as a brunch spot

Coffee is excellent. Perhaps not quite as good as their newtown cafe though, but still the best around.

What attracted me to Crave Coffee was its unusual exterior and location. Situated on Maddox Street,…read more(Nothing unusual about that), it has the appearance of a warehouse, a small outlet for coffee related paraphernalia and the coffee itself. Then, if you follow the instructions and go upstairs, you'll find the actual cafe in a sort of loft, hovering over the warehouse section of the business. I entered the establishment, unsure of whether I was supposed to be in there, the place was empty. Apart from the massive sign which read, "Now Open" there was no way of knowing whether it was open or not. (Give me a sign lord!) I walked upstairs and was met by the barista, I asked if they did milkshakes, I wanted a shake badly, eager for something refreshing to sooth my dehydrated skin. I could feel the dryness in my hands. They didn't serve milkshakes, "Coffee" she said, was all they did. (That and food.) I told her of how I had already had four coffees that morning. This was no lie, I had one when I woke up and then I had three meetings, all involving a caffeinated beverage. I succumbed, such was my desire to find out about this small and mysterious cafe. However, in order not to further destroy myself with these caffeinated treats, I decided to get a Macchiato, a small coffee (Still probably with the same amount of caffeine.) The coffee was really, really tasty. I sat with a bottle of tap water and sipped some water with my coffee at a ratio of ten to one in order to get some liquids into my body, other than the rain.

I turned up today to buy my regular kilo bag of their signature "Lindt Blend" beans (for home) and find that they have expanded to the restaurant space next door! Now with more room to hangout for Coffee and Breckky or Lunch. They also do a mean takeaway coffee at the front. (Okay so I'm excited for them!)

I was pretty impressed with the 16 different flavors of cronuts/cruffins they bake each day. However after trying 4 different flavors (Red Velvet, Boston cream, Orange spice & custard and Chocolate Lavender) I wasn't impressed anymore. Mr. Holmes and Dominique Ansel preserves the meaning of quality over quantity. This is not reflected at Brewtown Newtown. Nearly all their pastries lacked a heavy dose of cream. The cronuts did not even have real layers of croissant in between. The cruffins weren't flaky enough. Sure it was covered in sugar but it was missing that sweet spot (literally). The taste wasn't quite there yet. I also got to try something I've never seen before and to be honest I'm a bit embarassed I ate something so sinfully disgusting. The Elvis burger. I have no idea why it's called that and I don't think this is in anyway a rock star burger. It's basically a burger with plain cronuts as the buns. The moment I took a bite I could feel the heart attack I'm getting when I turn 85. I tasted every drop of oil that was soaked the cronuts and the beef patty from the fryer. Elvis Burger, you won the award for the most disgusting thing I ate in 2015. Do I regret it? A little. Was it good? Kinda. Would I do it again? Probably not, I clogged enough arteries already. P.S. They also have a ridiculously long wait for brunch, I ended up getting take away. This place is kind of overhyped, given it's predictable location (the hipster neighborhood of Sydney.)

The space is massive here, so it can accommodate corporate functions, parties, and spillover from the Grounds of Alexandria if you don't want to wait. Because the space is so large, it can also accommodate a lot of prams. I saw a lot of prams...like pram central. Since there's outdoor seating you can also bring dogs if you like, cause we brought ours. The food is organic, wholesome, and fresh so they say, and judging by the taste, I would agree. I ordered the Zucchini Buckwheat Fritters with Bacon and Poached Eggs. It was a little new, and tasted great. My fiancee ordered the Veggie Bowl, also fresh and tasty, but the pesto was a little overpowering. The place loses marks on service, probably because it's so big. They seemed understaffed since it took a while for someone to serve us as well as for them to come around again if we needed anything. It's probably attributed to just opening a little over a month ago, so once their service can get worked out, this place is definitely a good addition to the area. Til then, 3 stars...if service gets better then 4 stars.
