Yesterday, we celebrated one of our family members with a college send-off dinner! We had a party of 13, so we ordered a variety of appetizers, entrées, and drinks. I wasn't able to capture a photo of everything we enjoyed, but I did get pictures of most of the dishes! First, I have to give a shoutout to our server, Kaitlyn. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Large parties can definitely be overwhelming, but she handled our table with ease and made sure everyone was taken care of. For appetizers, we had the wings and lobster tails. The restaurant also provides biscuits with butter, which were very tasty. The lobster was fresh and flavorful, while the wings were cooked perfectly. No complaints there! For the entrées, we tried a little bit of everything. The **Chesapeake Pasta** was flavorful and enjoyable overall. My only complaint was the portion size. At around $38, I expected a little more pasta, but the dish itself was satisfying. The **Pot Pie** was probably one of my favorites. The presentation was adorable, served in a mini cast-iron pot, and it really gave that cozy, home-cooked-meal feeling. It was hearty, comforting, and flavorful. The **Chicken Salad** was HUGE and definitely filling enough to have leftovers. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the sauce was really good. Our waitress explained that it was a tiger sauce, which added a nice flavor to the dish. The **Lemon Linguine** was probably the least popular dish at the table. Unfortunately, it was a little dry and could have used more sauce. Some of the ingredients, like the peas, also felt more like an afterthought rather than being incorporated into the dish. It wasn't terrible, but I would give this one a **2.5/5**. We also ordered a side of **Brussels sprouts**, but unfortunately, they came out extremely charred. We sent them back and ultimately decided we didn't want a replacement. I was a little disappointed that they were served that way in the first place. The **Crabcake entrée** was another solid choice. The crabcakes themselves were tasty, and the potatoes were delicious. My only critique was the creamy spinach underneath the crabcakes. It felt like it could have been incorporated a little better, but overall, the dish was enjoyable. And of course, we have to talk about the **drinks!** My personal favorite was the **Blueberry Lemonade**. Honestly, you can't go wrong with the lemonades -- blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, or the original were all crowd-pleasers. The **Tequila Sunrise** was another table favorite! Overall, we had a great time celebrating our college graduate and enjoyed getting to try so many different things on the menu. There were definitely a few standouts and a couple of misses, but the experience was made even better by having such a great server.

This place is beautiful. I requested a drive around to the back to get a view. I will not spoil it for you. If you go here, you need to see it. We made it for Happy Hour. It's only in the Bar area. Website says Mon- Fri but the menu inside says Monday-Thurs, 3-6. The food was great. Let's start with the complimentary biscuit. I did not ask what it was made of but with guessing, it seems like cheddar and rosemary served with butter with chives mixed in. We had the Artisan Rib pizza. It did not have a base sauce. If so, it was not much. It had what tasted like and aju sauce on top. This was a surprise to me because it didn't have this listed in the description. The caramelized onion was such a great addition to this pizza. I am a sauce girl. I had a bit of extra Ceasar for my salad and used this as a sauce. Yep, made it perfect. The Ceasar Salad...let me repeat. The Ceasar Salad. It was so good. They have rolled oats instead of croutons, pumpkin seeds, and toasted Almonds. What a great combo. The Crab cake Sandwhich was also very good. Love the Comeback sauce. I feel fries have been mishandled these days. There is nothing like a fresh cut fry. They guve a heaping serving if fries. It was Thursday that we went. They have daily specials. We had already ordered our food before realizing we wanted a Salad too. Had I known that there was a salad special, salad and a Protein for $18, that would've been my meal. We just got the Ceasar without the protein. This place is one you have to come more than once. Then switch it up for Happy Hour, dinner, and brunch.

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch after I found Blackwall Barn on Yelp a while ago. We were only a few minutes down the road, so it was the perfect time to give it a try. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the bar area is very inviting with plenty of seating. They also have several large rooms that can be reserved for parties and events. They offer a Sunday brunch, and our waitress told us reservations are highly recommended. They do accept a few walk-ins, but to be safe, it's best to make a reservation. I believe she said the brunch buffet is $48 per person or $62 with mimosas included. Our waitress was excellent and took the time to answer all of our questions. My wife had a Coke, and I ordered the Smoked Sugar Sour Cherry Old Fashioned ($15). The drink was excellent and definitely worth trying. For lunch, my wife ordered the Chef's Fresh Catch of the Day, which was halibut served with rice, green beans, and a lemon sauce. I ordered the Lodge Burger ($18), topped with Hooks 3-Year Yellow Cheddar, Million Dollar Bacon, grilled Vidalia onions, butter lettuce, tomatoes, comeback sauce, and served on a brioche bun with Barn Fries. While we were waiting for our meals, our server brought us complimentary cheddar Old Bay biscuits, and they were delicious! When our meals arrived, everything looked great. I cut my burger in half and found it was overcooked. I ordered it medium, but it came out closer to well done. I also noticed there were only two small pieces of bacon. Since it was half-price Burger Monday, I'm not sure if they used less bacon because of the special, but the bacon was one of the things I was looking forward to. Even so, the burger was still very good, and the fries were ok need to be cooked a few more min. To be a 5tar restaurant the fries should have come out perfect it wasn't busy. My wife's halibut was cooked well, but she thought it was a little bland. It had enough salt--if anything, it needed less salt and a little more seasoning in the breading. The rice and green beans were both good. For dessert, we took a slice of peanut butter pie home. It was good, but we both thought it could have had a stronger peanut butter flavor. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. From the warm greeting when we walked in, to the excellent service, good food, and the manager stopping by our table to check on us after our meal, we felt very welcome. They also have a great happy hour along with food and drink specials every day of the week. Our server even told us about a few new restaurants that are being built. We really need a place like Blackwall Barn in Calvert County--it would be a great addition with its excellent service, daily specials, and quality food. We'll definitely be back!

I wanted to go to a place I haven't been before, the reviews her were above par. So of course I checked it out. So here it goes.... The place is beautiful from the outside, and much bigger on the inside if you take the walk to look around. When you enter it seems tight because it is. First recommendation, reserve a table in advance they get very busy on the weekends. The crowd was a good sign. Unfortunately the food was just okay, mediocre even. The shrimp and grits missed, and the pastas flavor decided not to show up to the party. Now the shrimp and crab cake which I did not have but my table mates didn't and they loved it. The. Header biscuits...I almost forgot, they were good but I want in love with the chive butter. And why did they ask if we were celebrating a special occasion, which we were and they don't give the honoree a basic dessert or something. That's neither here or there. Overall once this a 3, I'd go back and try something else. I wouldn't order the pasta or shrimp and grits again.

Wow, wow, wow, this place is beautiful, the food was delicious, and the service was great. My husband and I had a great date night and enjoyed some live music while having food at the bar. I will say this: the restaurant was packed on a Friday at 6pm, and reservations are highly recommended. I will give big props to the restaurant management for your bar chairs. My husband and I are always reluctant to sit at the bar because the stools are so uncomfortable, but not here; they were so comfortable, I felt as if I was sitting at a table. Thank you for that. To the food... we had a solid French onion soup, very cheesy. A super flavourful and so tender steak, and the Chesapeake pasta was creamy, and the flavor was like a combination of a lobster bisque and cream of crab. Very good. We are looking forward to returning.

We've been to Blackwall several times and it keeps slipping down a notch. My wife got the risotto and she felt it was too salty. I got the short rib sandwich. It was a bit bland and under-seasoned. I know that seasoning is a personal preference. However, the sandwich also seemed very dry for a braised beef. The service is still good but I feel like they're struggling to keep someone good in the kitchen. We're going to give them some time before we go back.

First time to visit with a birthday celebration. The facility is top tier. The wait staff was superb. The entrees were unbelievably delicious. The soup, salad, desserts, were all amazing. Their crab cakes are filled with 5 oz of pure crab meat. Their biscuits with the garlic butter is criminal, it tastes so good. No other restaurant can touch those biscuits. Entire experience from start to finish 1000 out of 1000.

Blackwall is a nice neighborhood spot with good drinks, good food, and chill vibes. Good for a casual meal, family dinner, or date night. Their happy hour is pretty decent with $5 wine by the glass, $9 cocktails, and half off pizzas. The place has a very cozy feel with fireplaces and a cute covered patio that is open year-round. Service is always good but it can get pretty busy so a reservation is a must, especially on a weekend. This visit we got the tavern burger and the NY Strip. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender and flavorful. My husband almost always gets the tavern burger and enjoys it. I didn't get it this time but I do really like the Chesapeake pasta. Lots of seafood and the pasta is made in-house.

The Blackwall Lodge - where vibes meet flavor. Thin-crust perfection topped with fresh greens and savory bites, paired with a citrusy cocktail that screams weekend mode. Chic atmosphere, great food, and even better sips - definitely a hidden gem worth discovering. 10/10 for taste, ambiance, and that just-one-more-slice feeling. Jenny S.

Zesty, sassy, and ready to mingle--this Lemon Chicken Linguini isn't just dinner, it's a whole vibe. Juicy lemon-kissed chicken chills on a bed of silky linguini, tangled up with snappy asparagus and sweet English peas like it's spring break on a plate. Garlic chips crash the party with a crispy mic drop, while the light lemon butter sauce ties it all together like a zesty love letter. Fresh, bright, and a little flirty--this pasta came to slay. Service was great.

Great service, great food, great cocktails! The portions were also huge! The place itself is decorated beautifully!

I wish I remembered the name of the sour but it was so good. Foodwise, we ordered the white pizza (which wasn't so white), truffle fries, and Korean BBQ wings. The pizza was very good. I loved the flavor that the hot honey contributed to the pizza. It was served with a side of marinara sauce but the sauce was very acidic and weird tasting so I didn't use it for dipping. The truffle fries were so delicious and perfectly crispy. I loved that garlic aioli that it was served with. My friend and I agreed that we did not enjoy the wings. We didn't care for the flavor and we expressed that to our bartender and she took it off the bill. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience at Libations. There were some nice tables outside, but we decided to sit at the bar once we checked in at the host stand. At the time, there were only two empty ones on the end, but the people next to us soon left. There was a phone charging right in front of where I was sitting, it wasn't long before the guy belonged to politely unplugged it and said that we could use the charger if we needed to. I'm guessing he was the owner. We got menus I looked over what we might have wanted. I was a little surprised by how expensive the tacos were, I was like geez we're not even in DC haha. The drinks were first. They have a variety of margaritas, and I opted for the spicy hibiscus and it was fantastic. My girlfriend got the mezcal brandy one which was very strong. For food, I was debating between crab shrimp and mole enchiladas. I usually don't get them because I find them too cheesy (as a pizza lover, I know). But I was feeling adventurous. The lady said to try the seafood ones, so I did. That sauce was immaculate. I haven't had a lot of enchiladas, but I do know that these were the best I have had to date. The pork belly bites are also finger licking good. Great prices, super friendly staff, fast service and always great vibes in the restaurant. They have a parking lot that fills up fast

A poker tournament was going on. We sat at the bar and what I will say is everyone was pleasant and welcoming. We were immediately invited into several conversations happening. I was told many food items on the menu were exceptional; the menu consisted of bar food such as burgers, BLT, steamed shrimp, mozzarella sticks, fries and a few other items I cannot recall. I ordered the steamed shrimp which were extremely bland, could tell they were frozen and overcooked. I have never not enjoyed steamed shrimp but these were the exception they also had a strong bleach smell. My partner ordered the turkey burger and didn't rave about it but also didn't complain about it. Nothing was life changing from what I could see that others were ordering. Seems that this is a place for drinking, camaraderie, and entertainment as there are also pool tables which I believe were free to use. No rush to return but if looking for an inviting place to play pool will return. One thing I did not like is that their are no small tables to sit your drink while playing pool as I was raised that you need to have your eyes on your drink when out in public at all times. Being told to leave my drink at the bar while playing pool did not sit well with me so I didn't drink.
