When I had my knee operated on I was told it will only take a couple of weeks before I could walk again properly but as it turned out, I was out of action for several weeks. This was all due to me sustaining 'bone bruising' during the operation, don't know how this occurred but it did.
What to do? I had to do something to try and speed up the healing process, so I tried a physiotherapist. Normally I stay away from physios as past history told me there is no end in sight to how many times they want you to come back to fit the problem.
The physio I saw at Blackwood done what he called a 'dry needling' technique, which to me translated as acupuncture but he begged to differ. Anyway whatever, because over the period of about four visits my knee felt so much better and I really do believe it was due to his technique.
They offer other services but I highly recommend you go see Simon for advice on any issues as he will be able to help. Plus private health insurance is a necessary evil as Medicare won't cover costs and by the time you get in to see someone, you can lose a limb! read more
