If there was a ZERO, Dr. Streeper would have it. She doesn't have any compassion toward animals. My sister brought Butterscotch in and had lab work. Butterscotch has pancreatitis and this so called veterinary didn't prescribe any antibiotics or pain meds. My sister sent me a picture of Butterscotch and I could tell she was sick, and I'm not even a vet, but I have compassion for animals. My sister left 2 messages to the vet to call her. No response. I had a phone conversation with her, and I was talking and she thought it was funny. I asked her what was so funny, maybe the veterinary board would like to know. After that, she wasn't laughing at my conversation. Butterscotch has an appointment with another vet tomorrow, soon as she could get in and I hope this vet takes Butterscotch's illness, more seriously. Update: Butterscotch saw a different vet and she has stomach cancer. Big difference between pancreatitis and stomach cancer. 6 days later after her visit with Streeper, she's too weak for surgery. We had our Shish Tzu "groomed". Cut hair where we asked her not to. Didn't trim nails, around face or bottom. Not sure if she even got a bath. You never talk to the same person twice there. No communication and appointments, etc. are often messed up! We're going to try somewhere else. read more

Just waisted an hour of my life at this place with my newly purchased Frenchie. I scheduled an appointment for a simple check-up which is required from the breeder I purchased my dog from. They grabbed my dog's health history from me in the waiting room......NO "Hello I am Dr so and so, no weigh in, just immediately tried to sell me Rabies Vaccs which my dog does not need. After I refused the Rabies shot, I was told to wait longer. After sitting for 45 min and watching 3 other animals get weighed and go ahead me and my scheduled appointment, I walked out. Apparently a simple checkup falls last on their pecking order of business. I will taking my Frenchie and his many many future vet bills somewhere else. read more

When our sweet cat had to be put down following a liver disease, Dr. Streeper helped us decide what to do by giving us all of the information on our options and was so kind and compassionate when we finally had to decide to say goodbye. We just had a terrible experience with bringing our full grown dog in with a fractured nail. The doctor was more comfortable talking to animals over humans - I could barely get any information from her and she seemed absolutely intimidated by me. They had me lift my 65lb dog onto the examination table myself - thank goodness I was physically able to. The doctor did not address specific questions and concerns of mine regarding antibiotics and medications. When they were doing the examinations I was solely responsible for restraining the dog - which bothers me because I am not experienced in handling animals in such an intense situation... because of all of this I was very afraid that the dog was going to flail straight off that examination table and fall 4ft+ to the tiled floor. When we picked our pup back up we were informed that he tested positive 6 months ago for limes disease - which is interesting because we were never informed. This could have turned into something serious and when asked as to why we were not informed they totally dismissed the issue without reason. On getting home we realized our pup was having A LOT of trouble with the dressing of the wound. They wrapped it WAY too tight with ace bandages and we had to re-wrap it ourselves. Also upon getting a second opinion the day after it turns out that they used straight gauze, without non-stick padding on the wound. When the Anamosa Vet Clinic (awesome folks) checked it out the clotting had dried directly into the gauze causing our pup some intense pain when having to remove the dressing. As I previously mentioned, we went to Anamosa Vet Clinic the day after and I got to witness how true veterinary professionals work. It was a night and day difference... I *REALLY* wish we would have just gone there first - I feel guilty having left my pup with Blairs Ferry Pet Hospital - *VERY* guilty. read more

If you love your pet you will not use their boarding services. I cannot talk about their vet services, but their staff is untrained and incapable of handling dogs for boarding. It seems as if the boarding is more about revenue generation than boarding and caring in a professionals manner for your pet. One star because you have to. read more

I am leaving zero stars. I normally do not believe in leaving bad reviews for any business, but this warrants a bad review. This clinic is in over their heads. They have too many patients and not enough vets. The vet seems very unknowledgeable. My beloved pet that came to us after my son was tragically stillborn was in a lot of pain and needed to be seen right away. Needless to say she is VERY important to our family. They have seen her in the past. They have been unable to diagnose her. They turned us away while my dog was severely suffering. What is the purpose of a regular vet if the vet is NEVER available and unable to deal with daily emergencies? For what they are, what they offer and their lack of abilities they are TOO HIGH PRICED. I regret the day I started taking my dog there. Their services and customer service is SEVERELY LACKING. The way we were turned away was not only inconvenient, but emotionally stressful. If my dog ends up dying it will be because of their lack of competence and lack of care. If you cannot service all of your clients then you need to change the way you run your business, close your doors or stop accepting new patients. It is unacceptable to turn away an established client. I want a refund for some of my services. I would NOT recommend this vet or business to anyone I care about!!!!!! read more

Customers beware, this place tends to give you one estimate but charge you a different amount. Then they claim to say that you authorized the additional charges when you did not. Will never return to this place. Asked for our pets records upon checking out. Will find more reliable place to deal with in the future. read more
