Plain and simple - this place is awesome. Every place when it first starts is going to have its hiccups - it happens to the best of places. Some of the negative reviews on here are a bit ridiculous so I think there needs to be some clarification. On any given Fall weekend here, there are literally two lines out the door. It is new and different than anything in the area. So waiting 10 minutes to order really isn't that different than what you should be used to going to a crowded bar on the weekend, why would this be different? I have been in there a few times and it isn't as though anyone is just standing around - they are working hard and eager to help - it is just busy! It wouldn't matter if there were 20 employees or 50. When there's 100+ people in there, guess what? You're going to have to wait a little bit. It isn't as easy as popping open a beer bottle and handing out. As for the trendy crowd who tend to frequent these places, this is on a farm. If you're going into it thinking you're going to the Eiffel Tower and you pull up in your Prius expecting a "refined palette" experience, you're in the wrong spot. It is a quality product, made and produced right here in Michigan, by an iconic name that does not cut corners in producing it. It is done right - without the artificial colors, sweeteners, bi-products, etc. You can literally taste the freshness. The building itself is a marvel in it's own right. I have asked many questions about it and much of the material inside there is over a century old and from barns, structures, and trees from right on the farm! They always have whatever the "big game" of the day is on the tv, but there is only one tv so it isn't the focal point of the place. The drinks are great, with many seasonal and limited flavors that you can't find anywhere but the ciderhouse location itself. You can easily lose a day just trying all the different concoctions - and I would encourage you to do so! The experience is more than the drinks, it is almost like stepping through time with the unique decorations, lighting, and architecture. It rivals any of the wineries throughout the state, but without the snootiness (though it appears some on here want it that way). I grew up going to Blake's my whole life and they have managed to give the area a taste of wine country without losing the personable touches that helped make it one of my favorite childhood traditions. Everyone who enters can feel comfortable and laid back - and when you leave the city to come out to the country for the day, isn't that what you are looking for? So plan a day to come out to the Ciderhouse and try everything there. I can pretty much guarantee that you will not be disappointed! read more

Had a lovely lunch! Today friends let us for a spontaneous fun afternoon! Called the tasting room in the morning ! They said we had an igloo available! so great! We booked it in the afternoo! When we arrived there was a mix up with the online & phone system. I inquired with the manager and she was so amazing! Helped us right out and made sure things were right. While she probably thought I was so upset and mad, it was the opposite. She was so accommodating and made it work so perfectly for us! She even came back personally to check in on us and gave us a 15$ gift card we could use towards our bill. She went over above for a minor mistake! We had amazing food & cider and didn't feel rushed at all! This pace an an amazing place to visit and great job to all the staff who work there, they really are doing amazing! read more

Megan, From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were going to be a fantastic waitress, with a charismatic attitude and willingness to serve. You're undying attention to detail left me speechless, pondering to myself "how much more can she offer?" Then, without hesitation, she asks, "Can I get you another drink?" RUDE!!! Went and bought a growler, cost $38. Got it to the car and it broke. Called into Blake's to see if they'd replace it- figuring they may not but after spending tons of money there, it's worth a try. I know many places who would have replaced it. Lady on the phone says "well what do you want me to do about it" .... I don't care if you aren't going to replace it, you don't talk to customers that way. I would have bought another one; but now, I'll never spend a dime there again. read more

Love Blake's! Tasting room, outside inside + food! Many have criticized stating too expensive.....lol....they must not eat out a lot. The quality, elevated status, and quantity of the foods, e g. Brussel sprouts & Truffle fries are Certainly worth the price. The drinks are stellar.... Love love love this place! 2nd time here and we have enjoyed it both times.We had the Sir Lushington Cider, Flannel, Estate (pretty dry if that's your thang) and Apple Pie Ciders and they were each so tasty! Pretzel appetizer with the beer cheese is SOOOO GOOD. We also had burgers and the house salad side which was a pretty good portion! Megan was so so nice and what can I say! Fantastic. I've never had such good luck when trying new drinks. I highly, highly recommend the hard cider, specifically Cider Dayze. I also tried the Blushing Bourbon, which was nearly as tasty as the Cider Dayze. Their mozzarella cheese sticks are nice little starter (or order two plates for a few people and share it!). the winery itself is beautiful. It has a rustic feel. Definitely make sure you make a reservation. If you walk in, you most likely will have an hour+ wait. This place has amazing food! Their burgers are great, as are their sweet potato fries and truffle fries!! If I this was closer to my home I would come here all the time! Also, I'm a huge Blake's hard cider fan, so not surprise that I loved the flight, but they had a Triple Jam Slushy that was to die for! Love Blake's!! read more

OVVERRRR. RAATTTEDDD. *clap, clap, clap, clap, clap* I came here for brunch with my family. The meals were WAYYYY overpriced and I was so disappointed. I even gave it another chance with the wine bar. All overpriced and hardly any food to go with the wine. What seemed like a cute place in the country is just a stupid commercialized rip off. The owner clearly has nothing but dollar signs in his eyes. Damn shame! read more

Celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Blake's (where we had our wedding reception- which was fantastic!). Food was delicious! We sat out on the porch and enjoyed the music and seasonal ciders (which are always changing and so fun try! Service was excellent- ask for Bill! He is great! My wife and I have been to Blake's several times since they opened up their tasting room and outside restaurant. Casual with good food! Small menu but what they have is all good. We also would highly recommend Emily!! Although it was very hot out, she was always there for refills or asking if she could get us anything - all with a pleasant smile. Thank you Emily. read more

Highly recommend visiting the Tasting Room! I wasn't sure how much a cider mill could offer in the middle of summer, but I was very impressed. Our server Emily was incredibly quick! My husband and I stopped in for an afternoon and everything was amazing. We ordered the core flight and a branch water seltzer all were great. Wow, we had such a good time grabbing drinks on the patio. Emily, our server, was so welcoming and friendly. Our service was quick and she was very attentive.
