I have been here several times now and I have been thoroughly impressed every single time. First and foremost, I am not a fan of Michigan wines on most typical days. I get it, same longitude and wines should grow similar and all that jazz, but Michigan wines outside of the sweeter styles really never taste right to me. Well whatever they are doing here is nothing short of scientifically brilliant. Probably some of the best MItten Vino I have ever had and that assessement is from traveling all around the state and trying different areas. The Frontenac, Petite Pearl, Marquette were my favorites by far. But my five stars isn't for the wine, it's for the sheer joy this place brings me. Absolutely beautiful campus with sheep and goats and a big white furball of a dog who looks so adorable but is trained to kill any possible threat to his wards. The large barn event space and indoor seating is nothing short of gorgeous and of course sitting outside is just pure joy. I will add more pics as I come across them. read more

I attended a winemaker's dinner & vineyard tour at Youngblood and I was very impressed. Beautiful facility with plenty of seating inside and out. It is very clear why this is an in-demand wedding location. The dinner included salad, from scratch stone-fired pizza, and of course, wine. The pizza was excellent and I will definitely be getting one during my next visit. There were quite a few different wines on their menu and I tried some samples of whites, Rosé, reds, and ports. They were all very good and a few were quite unique. My favorite was the Marquette Double Barrel. We ended up buying 3 different bottles during our visit. The service was excellent and the owners are very friendly. This is a family business and they are doing a marvelous job. read more

Youngblood Vineyard has such a beautiful setup. It's peaceful, scenic, and feels like a little countryside getaway. The wine is good. Their pizza is yummy, and the vineyard vibe is charming. There are animals to pet, wide open views, and it's right on their property but designed in a way that still feels like a public space. I wanted to keep loving this place. I really did. But the energy has completely shifted. I've been here multiple times now, and every single experience with the owners has left me feeling tense and unwelcome. The final straw came after a couple of situations that made it clear this place is no longer what it used to be. One time, my son climbed onto a tractor that was left completely open. No signs. No fencing. And the keys were literally in the ignition. I was already walking over to get him down when the owner came out and screamed at me. No grace, no calm explanation, just full-volume yelling in front of everyone. I was mortified. It shook me up for the rest of the day. Another time, we were just a few minutes early and waiting by the entrance, not bothering anyone, just sitting in the car. Again, she came out yelling, like we had broken some rule by showing up early. And then, the husband. I watched him get belligerent with another guest. He was mocking him loudly and making a scene in front of other people. It was really uncomfortable to witness. No matter what the situation was, that is not how you treat paying customers. I don't know what happened here. Maybe as the place got more popular, the stress got to them. But somewhere along the way, they seem to have lost the heart for hospitality. I never write reviews like this, but I'm sharing it because this place has so much potential. It used to feel like a happy little secret. Now it just feels heavy. To the owners, I truly hope you hear this for what it is. You've built something beautiful. People want to come here and enjoy what you've created. But you cannot treat guests like this and expect them to keep coming back. I hope one day the warmth returns. I really do. But until that happens, I won't be back. read more

The owners gave us a history of how they got started and where they are now. They were truly wonderful down to earth couple. There is not an ounce of pretention in this place! What a wonderful venue with amazing staff. My daughter's wedding reception was at Youngblood and Jess and her staff were nothing short of amazing. Not only is the venue breathtaking but the service was wonderful. Jess is the queen of problem solving and at every turn she took on whatever came her way (even when it wasn't related to her business). The staff might be largely young adults but they were helpful and courteous. The food and drinks were fabulous. Jess is fantastic to work with and answered all of my many questions quickly and I had plenty of them as we were planning! I can't say enough good things about this venue and their staff! You can tell the owners truly care about their guests and they went out of their way to chat and share the story behind the vineyard, which made the experience even more special. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the treatment my family and I received at Youngblood Winery on the fourth of July. We had purchased two parking passes for the event, one for my wife and one for our son's family, with the understanding that the number sold was limited to two hundred. We had been regulars, usually spending over $60 - %70 per visit and were members of their bottle club. The staff was always pleasant and attentive and we enjoyed the ambience. We like the food, although it was over-priced. We arrived at the winery around 7:00 PM, as we did not want to get there too early with two small children and fireworks scheduled for 9:50 PM. My wife is recovering from surgery and requires a walker, and I also have difficulties walking. We have a handicapped placard. Upon entry, I inquired about handicapped parking and was met with irritation from the owner, Jesse. She informed us that they were only required to have two handicapped spaces and they had four, and that the gates opened at four, so we should have arrived earlier. While I understand the regulations, it seemed unreasonable given the event's scale and the number of cars being parked. I dropped my wife and our chairs off and was guided to a spot deep within the vineyard. I later checked on Google Maps and found that I had to walk over 800 feet on unpaved, uneven grass and gravel to meet up with my wife. It would have been considerate to reserve some spaces in the main lot or run a shuttle for those of us with handicaps. After the fireworks, I walked back to the car by myself in the dark. When I pulled up to meet my wife, I was told to move up even though there was no one behind me. Jesse came over and knocked on the passenger side window, repeating that they were only required to have two handicapped spaces, and told us not to come back if we didn't like it. Further, at the gate, the guy directing traffic tried to force us to make a right turn. I told him that I have no idea how to get home from that direction! He finally relented and let us make a left warning to not run anyone over! This rude and ignorant behavior is unacceptable. As a result, I have canceled our bottle club membership and will not be returning to Youngblood Winery. We will miss Timber. I hope you take this feedback seriously and make necessary improvements to accommodate all your guests. read more

I recently attended a wedding here and although the grounds were beautiful the venue needs some improvements. The ceremony took place in the back of the property surrounded by the vineyard. No complaints here as it was a beautiful fall day and the set up was nice. The "barn" venue is where I noticed some missing details. When we got to the cocktail hour the bar staff was wonderful and pouring out drinks. I didn't love the wine but I'm no sommelier so make your own judgement on that. The mixed drinks were delicious and prepared in advance which made for quick service. Then it came time to sit down. There was definitely a fruit fly problem. I ended up tossing several drinks and covering my cup with one of the table decorations to keep them out of my drink, this was a common complaint amongst the guests but as the night cooled down the flies dissipated. I think a couple fruit fly traps couldn't hurt and I am sure the owners could easily remedy this issue. The bathrooms were difficult t access once everyone was sitting down at tables. I think if you have a smaller wedding this wouldn't be a problem but the path could have been more clear. My real gripe was with the young staff of men they had running cups to and from the bar, carrying things for set up, and doing general labor. They lacked common sense and manners. During the cocktail hour one spit on the ground in full view of guests in an area people were walking. Both young men cut off multiple guests walking in and out of the venue with no excuse me's. And finally they ended up taking home plates of leftovers, which I have no issue with I think all working staff deserve to be fed. However piling food onto multiple plates in the middle of the reception was odd, it should have been taken back to the kitchen for staff to divide amongst themselves. I definitely think some training could be done to make the young men aware that their behavior is appropriate for day to day work but not for a wedding. With a couple tweaks and some training I think this venue has a lot of potential. I hope the owners can take this feedback as constructive criticism and make these changes for the future. They have a beautiful property and deserve lot of credit for what they have built read more

We love to support local businesses, but seriously.. very snarky (even managers) and they act so put out when you ask for something. I have been going here for a little over a year and every visit is amazing. The dry reds are delicious which is hard to find at a Michigan made winery. They have a great sweet selection for when I bring along friends. The homemade pizza is equally as amazing. I highly recommend attending a wine event there as well. As someone that spent 20 years in the Virginia/Maryland area, I had frequented phenomenal estate vineyards throughout Maryland, northern and central Virginia and was cellar club members at a number of those vineyards for well over a decade. I had the pleasure to work at one in 2016 and it was probably some of the best experiences ever! With that said, it is Youngbloods policy to not allow outside food apparently. I didn't think my mother's custom 70th birthday cake for my small family (my significant other and my father, a 100% disabled Vietnam vet, and my mother) would even be an issue (restaurants allow celebration cakes and in fact, so do wineries in the DMV). My mom and I visited numerous vineyards when I lived in the Maryland/VA area and when I mentioned this place she asked if we could celebrate there. Again, having worked at Sugarloaf Mtn vineyard I understand rules are in place for reasons. But my experience this day started off with a request to become a club member and support local agriculture and it would be a lovely place to meet up with family. Well on that visit, I purchased a custom 8" cake from a speciality bakery, curtailed to my mom's favorite cake and filings - I wanted nothing more to make this a very low-key event shared with two elderly and ailing parents (one never knows when it's the last birthday you'll share together). I signed up for the wine club which I had to do with my phone that had one bar of service and was told no WiFi is available. Once I found in area with two bars of service, I was able to complete the application. The very sweet gal taking our huge food order of pizza, charcuterie board, and some chips and salsa, along with two bottles of wine and two glasses of wine and an extra bottle to take home quietly mentioned if I spoke with the owner. I was confused as she pointed to my mom's specialty cake. Apparently no other food is allowed which I understand people bringing picnics and such. But a small quiet family, that just joined your cellar club membership, you not only had the server mention it, then the son and then Jesse also came over. Had we not started eating, I wanted to leave as I felt humiliated and ostracized. And for your son's awareness, I had small plates and napkins with utensils so I wouldn't have to bother any one for anything. Additionally you don't offer custom cakes on your menu. You offer two desserts that in a note states, 'When available.' If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion, please do not go here. And the pizza was wet, not done in the center. But we made the best and all of us just felt utterly uncomfortable. I'll be canceling that membership. I'm really bummed and do miss the NoVa vineyards so much. I can't in could conscious ever step foot in here knowing that my mom's 70th birthday memory was her taking her cake home and celebrating herself. It's a shame. read more

My sister-in-law loves wine and it was her birthday weekend at the end of August so we thought this would be the perfect place to take her to celebrate. There does seem to be limited seating but all four of us got a seat at the outside bar. Sister and I got the tasting menu and enjoyed all that they offered. We bought tickets for the July fourth fireworks show. The tickets say the time is 4-10pm NOWHERE on the ticket did it say there was no entry after 8 ON THE TICKET, we arrived at 8:15 knowing fireworks don't go off until dark. We arrived to locked gates. We did flag down a blond that said she was the owner.. this woman was so absolutely rude I mean RUDE telling us we should have read the email they came with the ticket. We explained it was a gift and received no email. She then very snottily said "oh the person that bought it doesn't check their email"? The right thing to do is print your exceptions, exclusion, and rules of entry ON THE TICKET! This woman was so rude, the friends we were with own a business and would never treat any patron in such a rude and disrespectful manner, ever. If you can't be kind and respectful to your patrons then don't have events. Tact could have been used. Bonus on top she refused to refund the ticket price. I don't care if this becomes the only business in Macomb County, I will never patronize this establishment and if she ever walks into my business I may ask her to leave. Cute winery with a beautiful indoor building. We visited last night and enjoyed it. We each had a wine flight and shared a pizza. The pizza was absolutely delicious. Downside was that the service was unbelievably slow. There were only 4 tables filled inside where we sat and we waited about 20 minutes before anyone came over to take our order. Getting our wine and food was another very extended wait. When we wanted another glass we ended up having to go up to the bar to order it. Waited a while for our check and then just ended up going to the bar for that as well. read more

Must like dry wines should be the title. The place offers 7 wines and you get a 1 oz sample of each for $10. The price per glass is average of $7-$8 however the bottle prices are $18 and up. There is no inside seating . Everything is out on the covered porch . If you need to use the bathroom there is a port a potty. This place has all the potential to get to 5 stars . Mix up the wine add some on the sweater side and offer inside seating . This is a family run business and they stay busy . There was a private party when we arrived. I wouldn't recommend this place or its owners to our worst enemy. I'm writing this review and put together a video which I cannot link here of our beyond terrible experience we had with David and Jessica Youngblood and Youngblood Vineyard back in late 2020, leading into 2021. My wife did leave a review back in July of 2021, but it looks like Dave and Jess complained enough and got it removed so I created a video detailing exactly what happened. It is FAR too much to type, however, it's not too much to put into a video detailing every step. In summary, we chose this venue because we wanted to be in the lower vineyard field for our big day. The contract stated, and everything that was promised stated that the lower vineyard was the location, and we work towards that every day for about 9 months. Two weeks before the wedding, Dave went completely crazy as you'll see in the video and threatened to cancel our wedding because of, his words, "this change" of the tent and the dance floor not being where we can actually agree to and what was promised to us for 9 months. Two weeks before our wedding his answer was, "we will refund your money or you can have your event where the tent is because I'm not moving it." 2 weeks!! He's threatening to cancel our wedding after almost a year of planning because he can't uphold his end of the contract. This is just a very very small summary of what happened because then the insults happened and he started to swear at us and he started to gaslight us and that's where the "fun" starts happening. When we went there in 2020 to do the walk-through for our wedding, the wine selection wasn't bad. However, when we went there in mid-2021, the wines they had were terrible. Dry, had no taste and one of them gave a very funny mouth feel like I've never felt before when drinking wine, maybe contamination, I don't know but it wasn't good. The grounds are beautiful, however, the location of the tent is not. You get to see the back of a house, the parking lot, and garbage cans Third time posting :) - I hear that the charm. I can't think of a better way to spend a spectacular fall day than wine tasting. We headed out early on a Sunday to take advantage of the beautiful weather and a picturesque drive. The colorful trees were a magnificent backdrop to this adventure. Youngblood's is a fairly new winery and we were so excited to finally make it out here. What originally piqued our interest was "Goat" yoga.....lol! We both enjoy yoga and the concept of yoga and goats, why not? They offer Saturday and Sunday sessions. How cool is this...namaste and goats, perfectly paired. We found a perfect spot to enjoy our tastings outside. They have a few seating options from small tables, the bar, and various large couches. We ended up finding a nice spot in the sun on a cozy couch. We fell in love with the wines here. I ended up buying 3 bottles to take home. Normally, I don't care for the sweeter wines, but OMG!!!! Words can't describe the yumminess. My favorite was the Marquette and he thoroughly enjoyed the Detroit Reserve with 19.5% ABV; it is similar to a port. We decided to have a few full pours and enjoy the sun on the horizon. We will most certainly be back, if not for the wine, for the goats. haha read more

What a gem of a find! We popped into this winery just before the new year and had such a lovely experience. My family and I all tried the Marquette wine (delicious!) as well as the potato soup and grazing board. It was the perfect food for the foggy weather and rainy day, and the newly renovated space was warm and welcoming. The staff was great, too! Logan took care of us and provided great service. I was super excited to try this winery for my birthday; however, after driving close to an hour we found out they weren't doing tastings due to live music. I was extremely disappointed as their website did not mention this event that would prevent tastings. I felt a very unwelcoming attitude from the bar when asking about tastings. They were not very informative of the wine and did not make me comfortable. I was so happy to finish my glass so I could leave. It was served in a plastic cup rather than glass. I saw a few people with flights so was disappointed when we were turned down. Not a very good first impression. Probably won't be returning. read more
