We had been using Blanco Tax for many years, I believe since 2009 or so. I used to do my own for many years before I got too damm lazy. We were mostly satisfied coming here, especially in the the early days when he only charged us like $75. I never was savvy enough to be able to send him all the documents online so.. We dropped the paperwork off, and came back in a week or so to both sign and finish our tax returns. His location was a modest one, near 19th and J St. Several years passed and prices slightly increased. Then, a bold move to Chula Vista with what seems like several employees. Prices increased even more and service dropped. No personal touch, delayed work on returns. More than 2 weeks. Then the hassle of having to go twice to finish and sign returns. Still a competent place, just a greater distance now for us so, we've looked and since found a great new spot(don't worry I'll tell you soon enough)for our tax preparation services. Don't use them. Just horrible customer service, so sorry our previous preparer recommended Blanco. First, for the 1st time in decades we were asked to pay the fee before taxes were even filed. So tacky. Second, the software was apparently meant more for businesses not individuals and the importing of previous years' info was inaccurate and thus useless. Third, we didn't even get an official notification that the taxes had been officially filed, had to ask for it and then the response when it was done was downright rude. Only come here if you want to waste your time and money. Blanco tax is very expensive and has very poor service. I went to file my taxes and close my corporation, while filing they called me 3 different times to notify me of a price Increase. After a month of not hearing from them and not receiving our tax refund I called them to see what was going on. Turns out our taxes were never properly filed. When our taxes were finally filed, I called a month after that to check the status of my corporation closure which they told me would be done after filing my taxes. Apparently that was never done either. They now want to charge me an additional 450 to close my corporation after already upping the price 3 times. When speaking to the front desk clerk she was very rude and I decided to just be done with them. I wish I would have read the other reviews first. Would not recommend. read more
