Sergio went way above and beyond to do a whole range of things that included of course painting our house, which needed some touch up here and there 11 years after it was last painted. He also did a series of handyman jobs that included fixing dry rot by our high-up (second floor) gutter, replacing a window frame that was also damaged by dry rot, and fixing up a series of other cracks and potential problems. He put anti-oxidant paint on a door that was rusting a bit, and also did a bunch of consulting to help us understand our true painting needs (the large majority of our house did not require paint, and Sergio explained exactly why). We love Blank Canvas! We hired Leo and his crew to paint the entire interior of our home (2,000 sq ft, two story home), as well as the exterior (including our back deck and upstairs balcony deck). Leo was able to come out to our house and provide a quick and detailed quote for both projects. We were in the middle of a full renovation of our home when we painted the interior, and Leo's crew was very accommodating when it came to working around other contractors. Once the project was wrapped up, Leo did a detailed walk through to note any imperfections he saw and his crew came back to do touch ups so that the end result was exactly what we wanted. A few weeks later, they got started on the exterior of our home. Similar to the interior project, they were very meticulous when it came to the prep work (pressure washing, taping off, etc.) and finished the project quickly. The crew was very helpful in giving advice on various decisions, such as painting the trim, eaves, fascia, etc. They also came back out to do touch ups to make sure everything was perfect. We hired Black Canvas to paint the exterior of our house, as well as some interior ceilings. Black Canvas had a competitive bid, and we liked Sergio - he was easy to work with and was easy to get ahold of when we had a question or concern. We needed to get the painting done by a certain date as we were having landscaping done and the house needed to be painted prior to the start of landscaping. When we started looking for quotes to get our home repainted, we sent a number of quotes out and like most, shocked at the range of prices quoted. Some of the lower end quotes came from random unlicensed folks that neighbors might have used, however I did not like how the customer service aspects were lacking and overall customer satisfaction was low. They offered a very competitive bid to paint the exterior of my house which had some dry rot fascia boards that needed to be replaced. What stood blank canvas apart from its competitors is the completeness of the quote. Most of the companies would only quote T&M to replace the dry rot. Blank canvas offered a firm price so I knew what the total cost would be up front. I also added my shed and interior front door which I completely forgot and they included it without revising the original quote.
