Came by once on a Tues when they opened only to fins out the kitchen won't be opened until 3pm. Came back on Friday after 3pm to try the pho. Ordered with the bartender since that seemed to be the only wait staff on duty. She's nice and I place an order for pho and spring rolls. The spring rolls were decent but one of the two fall apart. The wrapper was to soft. The peanut sauce looked watery but had a good peanut taste. The pho came out hot (per the bartenders touch of the bowl). Broth was lacking in flavor. Didn't have unquie pho taste. There plenty of noodles and meat even though the one size bowl looks like a small. The atmosphere is calm. read more

Fun! Stopped after a HM hockey game. Delicious food: had a burger and fries. Place was not busy on arrival but filled FAST. Service a bit spotty; notified 12 mins after placing order they were out of my first choice so I pivoted to burger. Then I got the wrong cheese. Took forever to get a beer. But it was shift change and I think the person coming on was a newbie. Anyway, still fun and delicious; we'll be back! read more

This bar has no empathy. The Karaoke guy sucks.. and the people are combative. Oh, if you wanna sing the same song twice in a night because it makes you feel good and comfortable? Don't count on it. "It's company policy." Just like any friendship, relationship, etc.. I have no interest in an establishment that doesn't serve me. Also, the bar smells like they don't clean their beer lines. Gross. Do better. The owner's response: "Our karaoke guy doesn't suck! Out of 500 plus reviews yours is the only negative review. Interesting! Everyone loves our karaoke people. They are the most awarded company in Minnesota. Best of the best for the last 13 years running. If you don't care to play nice stay home." My biggest issue with their response is that I am a human being. I went there to have a good time, and support a local business. One person's opinion should be just as important as the mass. Again, there are several poor reviews of this establishment and the owner hasn't responded to any of them except mine. Thinking maybe the owner is the karaoke dude? Stopped in and expected to spend some time here, but when I asked about food, the bartender told me there is no food tonight. 10 minutes later someone across the bar from me got food. It was my first time at the bar on Friday 8/20/2021. I'm Asian/Hmong. There was only 1 bartender and she was the only worker in the entire place. I walked around trying to look for another worker or a manager but no other workers to be found. I was standing at the bar and asked to order drinks, the bartender declined me and said that I already had a drink (My nephew next to me ordered us a round of drinks and left). She proceeded to serve everyone else around me and not me, skipping me and walking pass me, serving the people that had been sitting at the bar before we arrived. And, everyone else. I knew she was the only one working so I waited patiently and when she walked towards me, I asked her for some water, she didn't reply and never brought me any water. I couldn't order drinks and she didn't want to serve me any water. Finally, after watching her serve everyone else, she walked to serve the black gentleman that just arrived next to me. She ended up bringing me water when the black gentleman kindly said, give her some water she's been waiting. This place needs more workers and better service. I'm glad she didn't serve me because I didn't have to waste any of my money or tip her. I get that she's having a rough day but be kind, serve everyone equally! I do not plan on ever returning to that bar and will continue to discourage everyone I know from attending to a poorly managed bar. Zero stars from me. read more

Cool, chill local bar. Bingo, Pull-tabs, cash draw. It's really a good hang out spot. Good vibes from an older crowd (50s+). This is more a place to relax and have drinks than eat. The drinks seem pretty potent and the wait staff are awesome and friendly. The food is super standard though (likely frozen and packaged). We got the buffalo wings, tater tot supreme appetizer, and taco salad. Not too tasty :( If I'm looking for a place close by to chill, have a lot of drinks, and be surrounded by good vibes I would definitely come frequent here. Karaoke review: Fun karaoke here Wed-Sun nights. New karaoke host is great, has a nice sound system, and you can search & submit songs with a phone app (when you can get a signal inside the bar). The karaoke crowd is all ages, leaning toward middle age & older at the slower times, while the young ones infiltrate late Fri and on Saturdays when this place can sometimes get insanely crowded. The setup is nice, though. It's kind of like 2 or 3 bars because the karaoke section is separated from the back part of the bar where the drunker patrons tend to hang out. A lot of people go out on the patio in nice weather too. Really good bar food. The best tots anywhere! Buy one get one for $1 drink specials. Great wait staff. This is a divey eastside bar, but it's a supportive, fun place to try out the karaoke. You can sing pretty much any genre at all here and the crowd will say yay! read more

Stopped here to check it out twice over the last 2 weekends after the ownership change. Last spring Bleechers closed down and this place re-opened as Sluggers Saloon under new management. It's still pretty divey for a night spot. It has 2 pull tab desks, a pool table, a dart board, and karaoke. The clientele is sort of trashy. It seems to skew younger and towards rougher guys with tats and single moms in tight shirts with muffin tops. All under 25. The first time we were there we actually had a blast. We were pretty skeptical at first and though we were out of place. But whatever. It was midnight and we didn't have anywhere else to be. Played some darts, had some shots, and next thing you know it's time to sing some songs! The singers weren't all that great but there were a couple standouts that made it fun. No one really sang any of the standards you get in a karaoke bar (Sweet Caroline, Piano Man, Livin on a Prayer, etc). The second time we were there, as soon as we walked in, some dudes tried hitting on the girls I brought with. They had great pickup lines too (being sarcastic here). "Hey beautiful what are you drinking?" They told him. "Oh thats cool, I'm not gonna buy you a drink. I don't have any money but I drink free here. I have connections. I just wanted to know what kind of girl you were". Really? That's your "game" ? There was a group of 4 younger guys over at the bar this time too. Must be recently turned 21. They ordered a pitcher of beer and were playing a game where they would do shots while balancing a plastic solo cup of beer on their head. Needless to say they all eventually ended up covered in beer, their table covered in beer, and the people sitting next to them all splashed in alcohol too. The bartender was pretty mad, but no one stopped their shenanigans and they were at it for a while. Glad we weren't sitting too close. They ended up sloppy drunk and falling over things. Overall, the karaoke was ok. The drinks were ok. We had a good time in spite of the trashy clientele (we can pretty much get along with anybody). The prices were reasonable. The waitress stayed on top of things. It's an ok spot for a drink as long as you set your expectations low. Full time karaoke bars are hard to find after all! read more

Stopped here on a Saturday at about 4:00pm, bar wasn't too packed but a good turnout for the local folks. Bought myself and my fiancee each a beer, got the tab - $13.50! Excuse me, but are you really charging $6.75 for a 12 oz beer? This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever witnessed. Will not be going back again for this very reason. My honey and I go most Saturdays for their bingo and drink deals. Their $2 tacos are great. This Saturday the dinner special was steak and lobster for about $14. You get a basic salad, a very tasty steak, baked potato, Texas toast, and lobster tail. Surprisingly, the lobster was great! Big tail, cooked well. Very nice bar. Stopped in on a Wednesday for bingo and meat raffles. A really great thing about this bar is their waitress service. Our waitress, named Maddie, was phenomenal. She not only handled several methods of payment from our table and odd requests like a pitcher of ice on the side, to food orders ... but she was efficient the entire time. She had such a great attitude and smile. Thank you for making our evening enjoyable! Will definitely be back on Wednesday night for such excellent waitress service.
