I used to take my daughter to the theater next door when she was young. They had $2 movies special every Tuesday. The bar was not open, but the restaurant cooked for the theater. It was a random evening that I stopped by my aunt's house and they wanted to go grab some drinks. Just couple of miles away, this feels more a neighborhood bar. Big dining area, however the left side was closed. The booths by the bar was open. The bar tender was our server and bar tender, she was doing everything. Okay, this was a strange place. It almost felt like a liminal space. There weren't a lot of people there when we went but it seemed like everyone knew each other and we were intruding. It was very dark. It took a few minutes for a server to come help us. The food was good. I got the Meat Lovers Flatbread and I enjoyed it. The bartender , Colin, was super nice and made us feel super comfortable. We had fast service and it felt super welcoming. The place has pool tables , duck claw machine, pull tabs and a stage . The one thing I didn't like was how dark it is but I think it adds to the atmosphere they have at outtakes . I love rubber ducks. The machine was super easy. $1 each turn and after $5 I got 2 ducks total. The bartender was nice and donated me $2 to win my second duck. Super nice of him. We weren't super hungry so opted for just apps. The prices on this menu is incredibly affordable. You can get a burger with the fries for $13, that is not the same price you get at any other sports bar I've been to. The apps we got were the jalapeño popper and the sloppy tots. Don't sleep on Outtakes' food!! I can vouch for the cheese curds, burgers, salads and dry rub boneless wings... All 10x better than most bars! They also have my favorite ranch in the twin cities hahaha. And the prices are VERY reasonable. My partner and I split 6 few beers and a few apps and it was under $50! The staff are sooo friendly too. The vibe can be a little weird at times, and I hate that they charge a cover on Saturdays (due to live music), but otherwise it's a solid place to eat or watch sports! read more

Outtakes is located next to the New Hope Cinema Grill. Upon arrival you will first notice a fairly decent sized outdoor patio space with views of a relatively run down shopping center. Inside there is a stage where live music and comedy are performed, a small arcade area, and pool table. The space is open and pretty large with dining on one side and a huge rectangular bar on the other. Decor is cinema themed with a industrial feel. I stopped in on a Monday afternoon with just a few of the regulars at the bar. More and more regulars poured in during my time there. Service was just okay. Attentive enough but not very engaging, which is fine. Was definitely more focused on the regulars. I ordered a PB&J burger. Nice sized patty, a little overly cooked. Bun was somewhat stale. Overall the experience was pretty meh. Wasn't the most impressive but would likely give it another go. read more

We went to Outtakes Bar after golf this afternoon. ordered some food. New York hot dog and a Chicago hot dog and an order of waffle fries. They brought out the order of waffle fries. They were hard and over cooked. After 10 minutes or so we asked were the hot dogs were. Little while later the hot dogs came out. The Chicago hot dog wasn't even warm! The New York hot dog was fine. Friendly server did a really good job (by himself) for our group of about 20 people, waffle fries were great and crrrispy! the buffalo un-chicken sandwich was pretty good as well, bloody mary was decent. I wish they had more plant-based options, but it was nice that I was able to sub the un-chicken on the buffalo chicken sandwich! Went for brunch on a Sunday, plenty of seating and we were able to make a reservation. Typical dark, bar atmosphere. I kinda wanted to give this place 3 stars, but the availability of Surly Darkness on tap and the cook on the traditional wings brought it over the edge! If you can take this place for what it is, it's not bad. As others have said, don't expect a 5-star speak easy upper class atmosphere. This bar has dive written all over. Not a dump in the slightest, although the bathrooms could be upgraded. The water pressure in the sink is very poor. You will find an older crowd here, with old time classic rock grooves. The patrons seem to enjoy singing to the music. Lots of regs. Happy people. I would be curious to see what it's like with a band here. It's worth a visit! read more

He takes the time to get to know every singer! He makes you feel comfortable on the stage and sometimes he sings along with you if asked! The servers are extra friendly! I Love Jace! I usually order the giant pretzel with cheese sauce as a snack during karaoke night. The servers are always on top of refilling my iced tea and have it brought out to me the minute I walk in the door! Now that's what I call SERVICE WITH A SMILE! I always have 3 or 4 tables filled with my other karaoke friends on Thursday night that join me at Outtakes Bar & Grill because they love the atmosphere and the DJ and being on stage and the crowd participation while they are singing! Went here for lunch. Wasn't very busy but even so, seemed to take a while to get our food. The food was good and the menu had a nice variety. We had the pulled pork grilled cheese (excellent!) and the western burger. Their french fries were very good. Nice atmosphere and felt the drinknd food prices were reasonable. read more

Outtakes Bar & Grill is located immediately adjacent to and is an extension of Cinema Grill. The space is newly renovated with a modern industrial theme. It's still got that new bar smell, clean and fresh! There is a reasonable selection of typical American bar fare and it's reasonably priced. They have a pretty good array of local beers on tap. Our bartender was attentive and social. At the time of this review, they have been open for ten days. They treated us like regulars and gave us top notch service. They made a couple of simple oversights on our orders, but were immediately responsive to correct the issue. This is going to be a great local pub. It was 11:30 on the afternoon before the famous Minnesota Autumn Brew Review and my wife and I had a groupon for $20 at Outtakes. I needed a base. We entered and I was immediately impressed by all the TV screens lining the walls above the bar. Everywhere you sit, you have a good view of multiple TVs. Love it. They had about 10 beers on tap, and most of them were craft beers. Score. I ordered a Surly Furious to start off. SOLID beer, in a cold mug = Heaven. I ordered a garbage flatbread with no cheese. About 10 bucks. Bot bad. The bartender was nice and was going about her business as I ordered my second beer. This time I went with a Fulton Lonely Blonde. Great local beer. (Check out their tap room by Target Field, BTW) The flatbread was store bought, but not bad and the sauce was solid. The toppings looked pretty ordinary, but it was a good flatbread. My wife's Diet Pepsi got refilled often, and it was a great start to a wonderful and perfect Minnesota Fall day. I was going to go 3 stars, but I liked the decor and the movie theme to the joint. This is a local bar/grill in New Hope. The service is a bit spotty but the food is pretty good and they have a decent bar. If your not in a rush, want some decent food check this place out. I know one of the waiters and I think he does a great job. I just wish they had more like him! I am fan of local businesses so I am excited there is something else locals can check out. This place is new and still working out the kinks. Service has been inconsistent on my 5 or 6 visits since they opened a few months ago. What has been consistent is the food quality. Quesadillas, Sloppy Joes, burgers and salads are fresh. Have yet to try the pizzas. Good HH prices. Lot's of tv's for your favorite games, but the bar area is too bright. Not going back. Went tonite for,trivia. First time in a long time. Food was pretty good. Service was friendly and good. Nice server. But when the bill came we found out that the pint of beer was $11. What?!, I asked the server and she said it was a seasonal beer. Surly extra dark. Okay... it $11? She suggested I talk to the manager so I did. Tall, sk8nny guy with metal rings in his face. Sorry, but he didn't say his name. He started to explain that the keg is expensive. My point was that if a beer is $11, you should tell a customer as a courtesy. This isn't 5he Hyatt, after all. Nor is it MSP airport. So I would expect a beer to be $6. He then argued with us, suggested that we couldn't afford the beer (our tab was $65 in food plus one beer), and told us how expensive the keg is. It's $280 for the keg, btw. Considering there are 124 pints in a keg, beer cost is about $2.25. So, by this logic they are "forced" to mark it up 500%. You would think with that kind of markup they could clean the disgusting rest rooms. I was shocked at his response and told him so. When I told him I wasn't interested in arguing with him, he argued further saying he wasn't arguing. A simple apology and thanks for sharing our thoughts would be adequate. Instead he made a fool of himself and lost a customer. We four won't be back. Nor will the other couple we met there. So you won the argument and lost the battle. Even as he walked away, no apology. Later the server said it happens all the time. A miller lite is $8 in here. No wonder the place was empty for Monday night football. Vikings vs packers. Every other bar in town is packed. Foods ok. Service is super slow. Haven't figured out if it's because they are understaffed or just not attentive. Each time I've been there it seems it takes some time to place order. Long wait for food. And even longer wait to get the bill. And even longer to get the wait staff's attention to come back to grab credit card to pay the bill. Last time I was there, a sign was posted by the bar that indicated something about walk outs... Well, with the slow service and lack of attentiveness, I can understand people walking out without paying the bill. I considered it when the wait staff wasn't coming back to get my credit card and had to go to the bar to pay. Even then when standing at the bar with money snd check clearly in front of me, the bar tender took 10 minutes to acknowledge me. And there weren't many people there. It was like I was invisible. We thought we would try out a local bar, It was bingo night. We seated ourselves. Our waitress was no were to be seen. After a few minutes I made eye contact with the bar tender and he brought us menus. The atmosphere was not very welcoming with no music playing. We thought we'd play a game of bingo while we waited for our/any waitress. She decided to show up mid (which was hard to hear) game looking like she didn't want to be there. We asked for two beers. she said happy hour starts in 12 minutes if we wanted to wait to save a $1 off our drinks.... Ha! I said no thanks I've been waiting awhile already so I'd just like my drink now. We ordered the chicken nachos with guac & the fish tacos. While we waited for our food. The bingo game ended for the night... Now the atmosphere felt even more strange... Silence with random chatter... Empty glasses on our table. When our food arrived the nachos were without our chicken or guac. And was just a plate of chips with a very small amount of cheese microwaved on top. We're hardly ever send food back to the kitchen but for $10.99 we didn't want to eat or pay for that crap. The fish tacos were ok... And we were real hungry at this point. Lol. I noticed our waitress across the other side of the bar on her phone. After around 7-10 mins she asked how things were and said she was having 'trouble' with the kitchen tonite. She brought us some free queso... Which was cold... Weird cause it was melted and cold!?? We did not see the waitress walk past again so ordered one more beer from the bar tender and asked for our bill. Luckily we had a $5 off coupon which helped take the sting out of our lousy experience. Overall bad service, food and atmosphere in this place. Won't be back!! read more

It's fine. It might not be the fastest, friendliest service you've ever had but you've had worse, I can almost guarantee. The crowd is a melting pot and the staff isn't going to take you crap, so just get that through your head and everything will be fine. Beer is cheap, and the food looked decent (will eat something next time and report back). Poker, bingo, and meat raffles. All the creature comforts of a neighborhood place. And lots of TV's. I actually love this bar, however the bartender Amanda is extremely frustrating. She doesn't pay attention to her customers and when they need refills, doesn't get the orders right unless it's a food order. I frequent this bar and that won't change, however, I do expect that my bartender takes great care of the regulars. And listens when you order a drink water does not equal soda water. Lime does not equal lemon. Again love this place and won't stop coming, just pay closer attention to what your customers order. read more

Out takes is a bar and grill next to cinema and everything is movie themed down to the cocktails. The tap selection is pretty decent with local taps from Summit, Fulton, and the super local Surly. The service was pretty decent even though our server was texting on her cell phone at our table as we were waiting to order. That wasn't cool, but she was nice and pretty quick after that. The seasoned fries with the queso were spicy and delicious! The pepper jack burger had grilled jalapeños, which I really appreciated. However the burger itself was pretty tasteless, so there's that. No one checked in us to see if we needed anything else. We thought maybe they were just busy that night, so we decided to go back. The space is average but clean and service was friendly. However, a good deal of conversation was spend trying to decide if our pizza was store-bought and reheated, or if it was just the crust that was prepackaged. I took the last few slices home and haven't yet decided if there's any reason to save them as a leftover or if the bland, unimpressive pizza is just destined to get tossed. Some well-behaved teens were playing pool and darts, which was nice to see. Our burgers were good and the prices were reasonable. Our server Fred was very busy but he had it all under control. The kitchen/food service can sometimes take a while because they share a kitchen with the Cinema Grill next door, so if they are swamped, the food service in the restaurant takes longer too. read more

First visit today. A little unsure at first . . . staff were slow to acknowledge we were there.
