The morning was of course very hectic and we were running late to get to the venue- Jasbina was taking her time packing her things (she didn't have a lot to put away and shouldn't have been more than 1-2 minutes), so I told her to make sure the door was locked behind her. She said of course and that she'd put on the do not disturb sign on the door to make sure no one came in. The next morning, my friend who had left her belongings (everything closed and neatly packed) in my room during the wedding realized that all of her cash was gone. I went to check my stuff and saw that all of my cash was also gone (apart from $3). I had packed away all of my valuables (extra cash I had was in a zipped coin purse which was in a zipped pocket book and then hidden between my clothes in my closed suitcase), and when I took my pocket book out, the strap was actually hanging off. Whoever stole the money literally went searching and purposely tumbled through all of my belongings, which felt so violating. A total of ~$500 was stolen between me and my friend, and my friend's scarf was also missing. I spoke with the hotel manager and looked at security footage and saw that Jasbina left 20 minutes after me and my bridal party had left. Jasbina was the only person who was left alone in my room. And looking back, I realized that the entire time she was there, she was a perfect con artist. She spent the entire time saying specific things to get me to trust her and providing wedding advice to keep my nerves at ease. It is also very unlike me to ever leave a stranger alone with my belongings, but Jasbina preys on the heightened stress that brides are facing to get us to lower our guard, so she can then steal. My checkbook was also in my purse but she left that untouched because she knows if she only steals cash, then there isn't a trail and she can't get charged. What was supposed to be the happiest day of my life was overshadowed by this, and it kills me that she is continuing to ruin people's happiest days.

Sola Salon basically a big warehouse of salon spaces for rent; within it, there are hairdressers, massage therapists, facial, etc. I received a text from Danielle 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment to text her when I arrive so she can let me in; she came out promptly and greeted me warmly. Her space is clean and posh with upbeat music playing in the background. I was made comfortable given the always awkwardness of Brazilian wax job. She was super professional and told me about the package deal she offer on all of her services for discount (buy in 6 or 12 sessions; never expire). She uses hard wax which is sooo much better than the old wax & rip method. She is also very thorough; cleaned and moisturized my waxed area after. Total duration was only 15 minutes. Quick and done! I would definitely come back to her again.

Originally, I sought out La Tua Bella due to (1) prices and (2) reviews. When I started going, every 8 weeks religiously 3+ years ago, I could get a haircut, root touch-up & highlights, for around $200 plus tip (and I always tipped $100+ in cash). By my last appointment, that price had snuck up to nearly $375 (plus tip). At that point, I could have the same services, completed at the same skill level, cheaper and without the 3 hour round-trip drive. In fact, my new salon is 10 minutes from my home. At my last appointment, I asked if older clients could be grandfathered-in on prices a bit and was told no. I was also told by a stylist that I wasn't the only one experiencing the very sudden and severe sticker shock, despite being assured that prices "have only gone up 10%." I can assure you, at least when I got up to the register, the prices basically doubled for the same services. Again, I'm extremely sad to have left this salon after 3+ faithful years. I just can't justify the expense, especially if the salon is unwilling to negotiate with existing clients.
