I went to Misty as a referral from really good friend. Misty has been doing hair for over twenty years. She knows what she's doing. She truly cares about her clients. That was evident during my short time there in the chair. She's fast, friendly and fun to chat with. I walked in showing her what I wanted and she gave me just that.....from a picture. The salon is beautifully decorated with state -of-the-art equipment. It's conveniently located and easy to find. Also, it's nestled in a quaint southern NC town full of charm. So while you're there try one of the local eateries! You cannot lose out! One other note....I went here as a referral. This salon has been renamed "Ash & Oak". I went a few times to the salon due to proximity. I get…read morevery basic hair cuts and have never been super impressed. It was always basic. I do not know the jargon so maybe that would help. But, the service and execution have always seemed passible. I once had to cancel an appointment and was charged $25. I understood even though it was something that couldn't be helped on my end. My dog was hit by a car the day before. This last time (a year later) I was asked a few hours before my appointment if I could change to the next morning. I was slightly annoyed but said I could do that. However, the next day, my cat this time was very sick. I had to take her into the vet. The salon didn't answer. I was charged the full price of a haircut- $55. I texted. I emailed. I called. Nothing. I don't understand policies like this. I wasn't given but a few hours notice and was unable to give the same due to them rescheduling me for a morning appointment. They are unresponsive even if to tell me there's nothing they will do. It's very strange for a business. I have receipts and vet bills as proof. They all seem young so could stand to learn and I hope they do and adjust to be more fair in their business practices.
